The Associated Press reports Linkin Park demanded its release from Warner Music Group on Monday, claiming that the conglomerate, which is about to go public, is not devoting enough of its resources to promote the band. "We feel a responsibility to get great music to our fans. Unfortunately, we believe that we can't accomplish that effectively with the current Warner Music," the band said in a statement.

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have finished recording their sophomore album, tentatively titled "13 Acres", and are scheduled to begin mixing the effort today (May 1) for a summer release via Sanctuary Records.
The follow-up to last year's "Here Come the Brides", "13 Acres" was recorded in part at a studio in Malibu, California with producer Andy Johns, who has previously worked with guitarist Tracii Guns on the L.A. GUNS' "Waking the Dead" album (which Guns has referred to as "my favorite L.A. GUNS record."). Johns was reportedly involved with the album during its early recording stages but ended up leaving the project due to unspecified differences with Guns and the rest of the band.
Commented Tracii: "This record overall is a lot heavier than I expected musically, and I think that London [LeGrand, vocals], without taking a ton of direction from 'outside sources,' sounds stunningly amazing and original, except on 'So Long', which [drummer Scot Coogan] sings. More so than our first record we were able to really take everybody in the band's collective influences and explode through with a solid identity and a healthy dose of adrenaline that will make this an excellent record to get speeding tickets to while listening in your vehicle."

Black Lodge Records have announced two new signings. Bullet has signed a world wide record deal with Black Lodge Records. They are now recording their debut full length album in Euphony studios. The album is planned to be released in late 2005. For more information on Bullet, visit their official website at www.bullet.nu.
Their other signing is debutant black/metal band Rutthna. After a few other offers Rutthna decided to sign up with Black Lodge as they showed the biggest interest in the band. Rutthna started out as one-man-band by J. Kristensson (Thyrfing) in 2003. A demo was recorded and released, named "Decomposing Eve". In the beginning of 2004 Rutthna was reinforced behind the drums by D. Ekdahl (Raise Hell) and new songs started to take shape. Expect some cold and ugly metal on their debutalbum "Doomsdaylight". The album is set for release at the end of May-05. For more information about Rutthna, visit their website at www.rutthna.tk.
CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:
"We recorded vocals for one of the songs for the final production demos for our new album yesterday, and we'll continue with two more on Saturday. Martin [Ain, bass] and I have worked on a variety of lyrics for months now… and some of the lyrics even go back much further than that. I had spent weeks preparing the vocal lines at my place and then took them to our rehearsal studio to practice them in absolute solitude, but with the energy of a live performance. As has always been true for CELTIC FROST, numerous rewrites became necessary to make everything work as it must for us to be satisfied. Martin often coached me where certain lines did not yet create the feel we had both imagined. Martin has always been a most resourceful vocal producer, but never before have we collaborated so closely. More...

When Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull was relieved of her duties as vocalist for Theatre Of Tragedy in 2003, she was just as shocked as her fans. When she returned with Leaves’ Eyes a year later, fans were surprised to learn she was still in the dark as to why she had been let go, her former TOT bandmates having cut all ties with her. In addition, Liv had been replaced by The Crest vocalist, a young lady by the name of Nell. Rather than dwell on the matter, Liv focused all her energy on Leaves’ Eyes debut album, Lovelorn, which led to an extensive European tour at the end of 2004. A three gig stint in her native Norway marked Liv’s first live appearances at home since getting the boot from TOT, and resulted in unexpected and much needed closure. More...

Nine Inch Nails recently shot a video for their second single "Only" with director David Fincher ("Seven", "Fight Club").
According to a spokesperson for Fincher, the new video almost entirely comprises computer-graphics-enhanced shots, and the director developed a brand new CG concept for the clip. Points of reference can be found in the CG shots from "Fight Club," including a scene that looks inside the head of Edward Norton's character. As with most of Fincher's work, the video for "Only" relies heavily on post-production, and as a result, the clip is not expected to be completed until June.
