Prepare to be sonically enslaved! Galder (Dimmu Borgir) delivers his darkest, most hateful and intense opus! From monumental, triumphantly marching mid-tempos to insane blast-beat driven passages, melodic, atmospheric synthesizers and a vicious mix of possessed screams and deep growls, Slaves Of The World stands out as a relentless album that exposes many entertaining and diverse facets making it even more fascinating for listeners not necessarily affectionate to the Black Metal tag. Old Man's Child have proven once again that Black Metal can be a serious and captivating form of pitch-black art!

The much anticipated new WARBRINGER album, Waking Into Nightmares, is set for a May 19th release, and the group recently completed a new video for the track, “Severed Reality,” which was shot by the acclaimed David Brodsky (Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR). This is a frenetic, performance based clip that perfectly captures the band’s live, unrelenting stage show. This video can now be viewed exclusively at the link below.
John Kevill (vocals) further comments: “The video for ‘Severed Reality’ got done in the middle of a tour, and it was done mostly live at the venue we were playing at that night in Milwaukee. We did a couple shots on the stage before anyone showed up, and then just shot the whole show for the video. As it turns out the show was fucking insane, we couldn't even fit all the stage divers in the video! David Brodsky went to put the whole thing together and it came out great, I think it is the strongest video we have had so far.”
Waking Into Nightmares showcases the maturity of the band as a direct result of endless touring with such genre titans as Kreator, Exodus, Soilwork and Darkane coupled with the addition of a new, very skilled rhythm section. The album will quickly separate the band from the typical old-school thrash comparisons as they crafted an album that paves a new path throughout the metal genre. This could be best compared to the impact and influence Megadeth had with Peace Sells and perfectly executes an unrelenting barrage of straight up heavy metal madness. This is old school metal with a modern twist that will keep the circle pits moving all night long. Enjoy and look for the band on tour through the remainder of the year and feel free to visit the bands official Myspace page below for additional information.
The band is also proud that their new album, Waking Into Nightmares is available EVERYWHERE NOW! Click here to grab yourself a copy from CMDistro.com!
Waking Into Nightmares is set to be released in just under a month and have now launched a pre-order for the album online at the new CM Distro. There are packages available for both the CD and LP versions of the album and each contain an exclusive T-Shirt and a bonus disc featuring rough mixes from the record. More...
SWORN ENEMY are one of those few bands that can never be derailed, no matter how many obstacles and hardships are thrown at them. They now return with their most uncompromising and vicious offering yet, Total World Domination, which is set for a June 16th North American release and a June 22nd release throughout Europe. This new effort perfectly blends the band’s old-school, beat you down hardcore style with a thrash metal infusion resulting in material that will tear your face off. The scathing new track, “Still Hating,” is now streaming at the band’s newly designed MySpace page by clicking below. Prepare to be annihilated.
These maniacs recently embarked on a massive North American headlining tour, Trendkilla 09. The run, which kicked off on May 1st also features For The Fallen Dreams, ABACABB, Suffokate and Thick As Blood in the supporting slots. Either see below or visit their MySpace page to view their complete touring itinerary.
Lorenzo Antonucci (guitars) further comments: “It’s been a long time coming, we haven't hit North America in over a year. We are very excited to be playing all the markets we are hitting on this run because most of them we have never even played before. We are playing the Blood For Blood cover song that we recorded for our new album exclusively for Europe, but the people in the U.S. can catch it live. We have some amazing new Mamaluke TV footage coming soon. Just wait, you won’t believe this shit.
“This is also our test ground for playing the new songs off of our new album, Total World Domination, which is our hardest album yet. It’s a good mix of As Real As It Gets and Maniacal, but fucking harder. I know everyone says that their new album is the best album yet and the fans are probably sick of hearing that but I must say this is a pretty fucking ignorant album. The kids have been going off for the new stuff and it’s awesome to play live.” More...
Shane Embury and Mike "Barney" Greenway of legendary grindcore act NAPALM DEATH spoke with Metal Injection and showed how their humble attitude have got them as they have. "I just want to play fast, chaotic music" said Barney. The band talks about their longevity, the writing process, their new CD and more in this compelling interview which can be viewed by clicking below.
SUICIDE SILENCE just completed a lengthy North American tour headlining the second stage on the “Music As A Weapon IV” tour that featured Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira, among others. This will be followed with a stint on the “Canadian Carnage” tour this June, which features Slayer, Megadeth and Machine Head. Stay tuned for a massive U.S. touring announcement in the coming weeks and be sure to visit the bands official Myspace page to view their touring itinerary.
SUICIDE SILENCE recently shot a new video for the pummeling new track, “Wake Up,” which was shot by acclaimed producer David Brodsky (Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR). The clip is a disturbing look into the inner psyche while embracing the effect of hallucinogens. A 30-second teaser for the video can be viewed exclusively by clicking below.
Mitch Lucker (vocals) further comments: “The ‘Music As A Weapon IV’ tour was an amazing opportunity for us to play in front of thousands of people everyday and we know that the majority of them have never seen us before. It seems as if we made a lot of new fans and we want to thank everyone who checked us out and gave us a chance. We are excited to go home and enjoy a short break before heading out on the ‘Canadian Carnage’ tour and European festival shows. We will be back in North America this July as part of a massive package that should be announced in the coming weeks.
“We also shot a new video for the track ‘Wake Up’ with the mighty David Brodsky (Black Dahlia Murder, GWAR) and it was a pleasure to work with him again. We feel he perfectly nailed the concept we envisioned for this clip and we can’t wait for you all to see it. We couldn’t be more proud of No Time To Bleed and we are stoked for everyone to hear it and experience it in its entirety. There is no doubt that we have the best fans in the world and we owe all of this success to all of you. Thanks so much and we hope to see you all very soon.”
Be the first to score your own copy of the group’s much anticipated new album, No Time To Bleed (June 30th release), through the many exclusive pre-order packages listed below. These packages are exclusive to the online pre-orders and supplies are limited, so be sure to get your orders in now before you miss out.

There is little doubt in anyone’s minds that SUICIDE SILENCE are one of the frontrunners of the new wave of American metal, a statement further validated as the group won the “Best New Talent” Award at the inaugural Revolver Golden Gods Awards, held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on April 7th, 2009. The group was also hailed as the event’s breakthrough artist by the LA Times, but make no mistake that this extreme juggernaut is not resting on their laurels and are about to take things up a notch with their highly anticipated sophomore release, No Time To Bleed, which was produced by the acclaimed Machine (Lamb of God). This new effort promises to make their debut offering seem like easy listening.
The Atlanta based quintet DÅÅTH recently unleashed a straight shot of pure, unfiltered American metal upon the masses with their new full-length album, The Concealers, which is garnering numerous rave reviews (see below). The group just completed a very successful month-long North American trek alongside Dragonforce and continues their touring onslaught throughout the summer touring the U.S. with Goatwhore, Abigail Williams, SWWAATS and Abysmal Dawn. Be sure to visit the bands official Myspace Page to view their complete touring itinerary.
DÅÅTH shot a video for the scathing new track, “Day Of Endless Light,” with director Robin Fuller (Ghost of a Thousand, Shaped By Fate) last month and click on the link below to for a sneak peak into the madness that awaits.
Eyal Levi (guitars) further comments: “DÅÅTH is definitely back. We just wrapped up our North American tour with Dragonfoce and Cynic. Now that the dust has settled we have, with proof and via memories, come to the conclusion that this was our best tour ever. On all fronts: crowd reaction, merch sales and new friendships. And any memories we’re too blacked out to remember were caught on film anyways! We have tons of amazing footage from this tour that we’ll be sharing with you guys for a while. Both bands are incredibly easy to tour with because they are composed of such great individuals. Like Kevin Talley was perplexed about, ‘Man, there are no douchebags on this tour! Usually there’s at least one.’ I couldn’t ask for a better tour to come back on after our seemingly centuries long break.
“Coming up in the world of DÅÅTH are quite a few badass and exciting things. First we have a video we’re about to release for ‘Day Of Endless Light.’ I’ve said in the past that I didn’t want us to create just another metal video with five dudes jamming in an abandoned building or warehouse. We wanted a video that was more of a visual work that just carried a dark and slick vibe and could be considered an animated work of art. Well, so far I personally have only seen 10 seconds of it and holy shit! It is definitely on the way to achieving the goal. Director Robin Fuller and art director Jorden Haley are the kind of people I need to always be working with.
“Also, there are some exciting tours in the works. In June and July we’ll be doing the ‘Conquer and Curse’ tour which features our brothers from Goathwore. I can’t say enough how much I admire and love this band. Headlining will be Abigail Williams and the first two bands will be Abysmal Dawn and Success Will Write Apocalypse Across The Sky. This tour is going to be a 180 from the Dragonforce tour and I’m excited for the different experience. We also just confirmed that we’re touring Europe with Chimaira, Unearth, and Throwdown this fall! I don’t need to explain why this is such an amazing tour but let me tell you, we are fucking STOKED to be a part of it! This also will be our second time through Europe with Unearth and can’t wait to share the road with those model human beings.”
The Concealers was produced and mixed by Jason Suecof and Mark Lewis (Trivium, All That Remains, Devildriver) and features unparalleled musicianship along with the extraordinary vocals of Sean Z.

ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS have informed the music industry that heavy, technical music can be successful since unveiling their Century Media debut album, The Game of Life. The band has created a sound all their own and have become well known for their brand of grind, which has even been featured on MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Duel II. Now ARSONISTS are back with a brand new effort called Portals which has been highly anticipated from fans and press alike. The album was recorded by Zack Ohren (As Blood Runs Black, All Shall Perish) and features 11 glorious grinders like “My Cup’s Half Empty” and “Violence in Fluid –Triceratops”.
Portals, sees the band in new form, now using only one vocalist instead of their previous two singer attack. The presence of the one vocalist serves to sharpen the band’s straight-ahead metal attack and more importantly creates a cohesive album the flows perfectly from start to finish. Produced by the extremely talented Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish), Portals surely establishes ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS as innovators of experimental music and will continue the band’s path to becoming metal titans.
ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS are also extremely excited to announce the Lambgoat sponsored No Care Ever Tour, which sees them headlining across North America. On the Canadian dates of the trek, direct support will come from label mates THE AGONIST and also features APFP, Chelsea Grin, Attila and Execute The Sinner. See You Next Tuesday will be providing direct support in the US alongside Knives Exchanging Hands, Attila and Fell Silent. The band has just completed the European Thrash & Burn tour and drummer Garin Rosen comments: “This whole tour is a dream come true. Finally coming to Europe and watching kids that can't speak a word of English singing along to every word. I can't wait to come back and bang my head with the crazy Europeans yet again!”

Swedish progressive death metal act SKYFIRE will release a 4-song, digital-only EP entitled "Fractal" in
July via Pivotal Rockordings. "Fractal" is made up of songs that were written between 2004’s "Spectral" and their yet-to-be-released September 2009 "Esoteric" album. SKYFIRE bassist Martin Hanner comments on the band's decision to release the EP:
"Since we spent way too much time in the studio writing and recording and too little time giving anything back to the fans, we discussed with our label about releasing a few songs we wrote in 2005 or so. We recorded, mixed, and mastered these alongside the ‘Esoteric’ songs with new vocalist Jocke and guitarist Johan in order to make them available to our fans. We knew these songs weren't going to make our full length, because by the time we had signed a deal, we were flowing with new ideas. However, letting these songs go unreleased was always something sad for us, so it's awesome that they will be available to the fans digitally with exclusive artwork and everything.”
"Fractal" marks the first official SKYFIRE release to feature new members Johan Reinholdz (guitars; ANDROMEDA, NONEXIST) and Joakim Karlsson (vocals; MARK:BLACK). All music was recorded, mixed and mastered at Powernest Studios with the exception of the track "Esoteric," which was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY, SONIC SYNDICATE, ZONARIA, THE ABSENCE). Vocals for all tracks were produced by THE FORSAKEN guitarist Patrik Persson.
Here is the tracklisting for "Fractal":
1. The Land of the Wolves
2. Bereaved in Denial
3. The Transgressor Within
4. Esoteric ("Esoteric" album preview track)
You can hear the new song “Esoteric” on the band's MySpace page.
Sleeping Giant have posted a new song titled 'Gang Signs' from their upcoming sophomore album "Sons Of Thunder." You can hear it on their Myspace page. You can also go to their online store and pre-order the album with an exclusive Sleeping Giant T-shirt for $15. "Sons Of Thunder" is set to release June 23.
Sleeping Giant will be on the Scream The Prayer Tour with The Chariot, A Plea For Purging, Haste The Day, and Gwen Stacy. Tour Dates after the jump. More...
On Monday May 4th, 2009 I had the pleasure of interviewing the pirate metal trio, Swashbuckle at the Blender Theater at Gramercy in New York City before their performance at Paganfest 2. I wasn’t sure what to expect, since pirates are hostile. These pirates were definitely just out to have fun. The band, though not dressed like pirates at this time, certainly acted and sounded like them from the interview. Enjoy. More...

We've been talking to bands to hear their best pit stories. This week, we've got a tale from Jono, drummer for The Destro:
"All too often on the road, the words "I'll never forget this" are uttered out of my mouth. A stop in Wichita Kansas was the perfect opportunity. The night goes as typical as any given show night, a set full of intense headbanging, plenty of booze to counter the side effects, and just enough pointless conversation with strangers to entertain yourself. In the middle of one of those conversations, i was asked to do something i simply couldn't refuse, pick up and assist this dude in the pit....that was completely wasted....and missing a leg. i picked up and spun the guy fast enough to inflict some serious hurt on anyone in the way of his roundhouse kick. No one was safe from our crippling violence, including us. We were eventually ganged up on and taken to the ground. Turns out picking up a guy with one leg is way harder than it sounds. Watching my inebriated attempts had to be agonizing for everyone paying attention. I finally got him up. He pounded my fist, showed some horns, and hopped off. I’ll never forget that; dude was a rager."
In the next installment of "Tales From The Pit" we'll hear from Matt Fox of Shai Hulud.
California metallers Forbidden have issued the following band update:
"Once again, it's about time for us to check in with everyone and let them know what we've been up to. This time it's quite a bit with something special for our fans to top it off.
"First thing people have been poking and prodding us about is new music. Yes, we have it and are writing even more all the time. No, it's not the actual record that we're recording. We are still in the demo process and are making damn well sure that it lives up to our standards. It seems that most fans feel some sort of ownership to a different era of Forbidden's catalog and everyone has an opinion of what they think we should try and sound like. Well, we don't really try. We just do. Having two new and very talented members that were also long time fans doesn't hurt! It certainly brings some perspective to the table and keeps things fresh. We feel the material is very strong and that's what works for us.
"We're almost finished with the first demo of new songs in a long, long time. We probably would have been done a little while earlier, but schedules between band members studio time and engineer availability puts a little space in between everything. Which, in this case, suits us just fine. The two songs we chose to record are very much in the melodic thrash genre that we evolved into on Twisted Into Form. Keep in mind, we have a lot more material then we've recorded and are going to keep writing until we think we've got more then enough. There will be all kinds of songs and we intend on showing our fans some new tricks up our sleeve as well. More...
Brazilian metallers Hibria have posted a music video online for the song "Tiger Punch," which is from their latest album "The Skull Collectors." The video can be viewed below. More...

4. Make You Die Slow

Dutch black metal band Carach Angren has issued the following statement about preparing to record a new album:
"CARACH ANGREN – STOP – RECORDING IN AUGUST – STOP – ALBUM NAME: DEATH CAME THROUGH A PHANTOM SHIP – STOP – RELEASED END 2009 VIA MADDENING MEDIA – STOP – SAVE YOUR SOULS – STOP
"On their pillage through the seven sickening seas, the haunted Dutch four-master CARACH ANGREN boarded countless freighters and encountered frightening boats to witness a story of naval terror and elemental fright - for it is them who beheld as 'DEATH CAME THROUGH A PHANTOM SHIP'!
"As of August 2009, CARACH ANGREN will call at a port to record a report of what should have better remained submerged in the fathomless depths of the Oceans.
"It shall be by the end of 2009 then when MADDENING MEDIA will open their cursed chest and unleash the haunting contents upon the masses."
Sigh has issued the following update about shooting a new music video:
"What started off as a simple rights and clearances query has led to a creative partnership between Japanese black-metal heroes Sigh, and Canadian director David Hall. ‘I wrote the band to ask for permission to film them at this year’s Maryland Deathfest, and to film them checking out the sights of Baltimore,’ Hall explained, describing how the partnership came about, ‘Dr. Mikanibal (vocals and saxophone in Sigh) asked me if I could film them playing their instruments outside, and they would find someone else to edit it, so I asked ‘why don’t you just let me make you a video?’ A long time fan of the band, Hall is ecstatic to be directing the video for ‘Prelude to the Oracle,’ a track off the forthcoming ‘Scene’s from Hell,’ due out in the near future on The End Records.
"Hall will be in Baltimore to film ‘Maryland Deathfest the Movie,’ a feature about the 7th annual Maryland Deathfest music festival, but will make time to direct the video he and the band developed the concept for. ‘We’re going to be shooting in this amazing park called ‘Druid Hill Park,’’ Hall said from his London home, ‘and we’re going to shoot at parties, on the street and in our hotel rooms. The concept and story are a secret, but there will be blood, that much I can say. And we need extras!!!
"If you want to be in a cool Sigh video, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll talk.’ Hall has directed the feature films – ‘Axis of Eden the Feature Film,’ based on the album of the same name by Supernova Records’ Today is the Day, and ‘Disgorge, Mexico the Movie,’ for Quebec’s Fuck the Facts, which will be out later this year on Relapse Records. Maryland Deathfest The Movie will be Hall’s third production, and the second production of his newly formed company ‘Handshake Inc.’
"For more information contact David Hall – 519 859 1136 – email@example.com"
Devildriver has issued the following tour report:
"What's up people?!? This tour is coming to an end. We played our last show with Slipknot two days ago and celebrated by partying our asses off. Especially myself, from what I can remember. We have two shows left until we go home for about two weeks. Then its off to Europe for a month.
"This has been a really great tour. Its a lot of fun to mix the shows up. One day we were playing an arena, the next day we were playing a club. I had a lot of fun with the other bands. Slipknot, All That Remains and 3 Inches of Blood. It wasn't our first time touring with any of these guys so we were all well aquatinted with one another. Made things a little bit more interesting if you know what I mean. Boozing!!!"
Graves of Valor’s Relapse debut "Salarian Gate" is currently streaming in its entirety here. The album will see its North American release date next Tuesday, May 26th followed by an international release on June 1st. Salarian Gate was recorded at Mana Recording Studios with engineer Brian Elliott.
The band has also lined up two record release shows in support of "Salarian Gate’s" release, including a free in-store performance and signing session at Earshot Records in Greenville, SC. The second show will take place in the band’s hometown of Florence, SC at Spin.
Regain Records has issued the following statement about the release of Merauder's upcoming album:
"The brand new MERAUDER album 'GOD IS I' will see the light of day in june 2009!
"New York's own Merauder were on the forefront of the metalcore wave in the early '90s, and few bands have had the pleasure of receiving the worldwide attention and embellishing the genre's conviction as they have. With many of the old NYC hardcore bands such as Biohazard, Madball, and Sick Of It All are either breaking up or adopting a new sound it is a relief to see a band such as Merauder sticking to what they do best. Filled with aggression, angst, and controversial lyrical content 'God Is I' will proceed to beat you to a bloody mess. This is a record made for Agnostic Front and Cro-Mags fans, but it is sure to gain many news fans as well. 'God Is I' is a brutally honest record from a band that holds back no punches. This is Merauder, and this is what NYC hardcore is all about."
The track list will be as follows:
3. Built On Blood
5. Forgotten Children
6. God Is I
7. Perdona Me
8. Hell Captive
11. Never Surrender
12. See You In Hell

Finnish female fronted band Amberian Dawn has issued the following announcement about an album release party for the latest album "The Clouds of Northland Thunder:"

Zao has issued the following announcement about releasing an early studio album on vinyl:
"Yup. Broken Circles Records is putting out a 1000 copy pressing of Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest on vinyl. First time it's seen a vinyl release. Ever.
"While WE don't really have a hand in this one, we've given our blessing and are sitting on the sidelines watching how it goes down to see if there's enough demand to put OTHER stuff out. I mean, think about it. A certain ANALOG recorded album getting the vinyl treatment it deserves? double picture-disc set of Funeral of God?? the possibilities are endless. More...
Chicago black metallers Withering Soul have issued the following statement about appearing on a Running Wild tribute album:

"Commented Jens Pohl, the webmaster for German Metal-Legends Running Wild: 'This album will not be just an ordinary tribute to anyone, this is going to be a farewell gift to one of the most influential bands in Heavy Metal, paying homage to Rock'n'Rolf as a musician and - due to the current situation - to many of his latest songs but not solely. I am really happy, proud and grateful at the same time that this tribute album features some legends as well as some of the most promising and uprising Heavy Rock- and Metal-Acts you should not miss! My deepest appreciation to everyone being involved. Thanks.'"
