Keep Of Kalessin has issued a post-tour update after arriving home from their North American tour with Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth:
"Keep Of Kalessin has returned to Norway after an amazing north American tour with Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth. We're very happy with this tour and it's definitely the best tour we have done so far in our career. All three bands delivered amazing shows every night and everyone were super-cool people to hang out with! We definitely made some lifelong friends on this tour.
"We did a total of 27 shows all across North America and all shows were sold out or close to sold out. With venues ranging from 1000 to 2500 in capacity, I'd say that is very good for an extreme metal tour like this! It was also great to see that most of the people showed up early enough to see Keep Of Kalessin's set and we met a lot of fans that had been waiting a long time for our arrival in the US, and we also gained a lot of new fans. We tried to sign and meet our fans every night and the feedback from all of you was just great! We truly appreciate all the support!!"
Immediately upon returning home, with only a day of rest in between, the band set out to Gothenburg to shoot their new video for the song "Ascendant." The video is directed by Patrick Ullaeus, who is well known for his work with metal bands like Dimmu Borgir, Within Temptation, In Flames and more. The video will feature a performance video shot on a white screen/green screen.
You can currently hear the song "Ascendant" on the band's MySpace player as well.
Keep Of Kalessin's new album, "Kolossus," will be released in Europe on June 6 and North America on June 10.
The Tidal Wave Metal Festival, born from the now defunct "Making Waves Festival," has announced a tentative lineup for the two-days free event. The free event is like a picnic in the park, with metal. You may bring whatever you want (dogs, food, coolers, cigarettes, mullets etc. are all ok). There will be raffles for merchandise donated from various sponsors and bands all day all day.

Jeb Wright from Classic Rock Revisited recently conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing. Here are some extracts from the conversation:
Classic Rock Revisited: Do you consider "Nostradamus" to be a masterpiece?
K.K. Downing: "We said it is either a masterpiece or just a piece! It will be one or the other."
Classic Rock Revisited: How much did you know about Nostradamus?
K.K. Downing: "Zero. It wasn't too difficult to learn about him. Our manager printed a few things up for us to look at. When you start seeing things like he requested to be buried standing up then it gets interesting. He wore a medallion around his neck that had a year on it. The people that dug him up, when his body was exhumed, saw the year on the medallion and freaked out because it was the year they dug him up. The second time he was dug up was by soldiers who drank wine out of his skull. They got massacred on their way home. He also dabbled in Metal by mixing metals together – he probably was getting high off the fumes. I am not saying I am a believer but he had a lot of really cool Metal content in his life. It was quite a journey and a challenge for us to do. The emotions are really there. We have put our emotions into our music before but this is just a lot more in depth." More...

Amputated Vein Records recently announced the new signing of Cyanosis, a brutal pummeling death metal band from Wisconsin. Their debut full-length CD, "Methods," which was released in 1999, will be released as a CD with 3 new tracks entitled "Conceiving Abhorrence" around June or July.
In the meantime, you can check out some of Cyanosis' music on their myspace page.
Funeral Doomers WORSHIP are working on a conceptional trilogy of EPs called "Elemental Doom Trilogy." The first installment will be shipped in June, and can be preordered today. Each EP focuses on a raw, primal theme, the first being "Wood", and both bands of the split 7" provide a song based on that theme.
The split partner on "Wood" is Persistence in Mourning (USA), known from the Thergothon Tribute CD.
Worship's contribution is "Baumvater," a song written in 1995 by band member Satachrist, constituting the band's first non-cover which was not written by The Doommonger, who contributed the lyrics, though, partially in German in contrast to their latest release "Dooom." There are other differences as well, as EPs allow for more liberty, and there might be some groove and some harder elements as well on this one.
The cover is designed by Gustavo Sazes, who received huge praise for his Digipack artwork for "Dooom." The 7" comes in a nice cardboard sleeve. Although label Endzeit Elegies reacted to the speed in which some of the past EPs were sold out, the first EP on Worship's own label will still be limited, and preordering is heavily advised and can currently be done online here.
Distributors who want to carry this title can contact Endzeit Elegies info

Drowning Pool vocalist Ryan McCombs has posted two blogs recently regarding a show the band performed with Papa Roach, Alter Bridge and Rev Theory. Check them out below:
"The powers that be have been after me for some time to write another blog. Hell, at one point it was even suggested that I try to start some controversy with some other acts. You know the old 'no such thing as bad press' BS. It was suggested that I take a shot at Kid Rock one time. WHAT??? Here's a dude that marches the same path we do supporting our troops. Yeah, right, I'll get right on that.
"Actually, I will, but not at Kid Rock. Hell, I respect the guy — why would I do that?! I need a reason to be a prick. Anyone out there that knows me knows that much. So let me get to it. Let me make everyone happy.
"I'm sitting here in Mt. Clemens, Michigan at a radio show for WRIF, a bad-ass station up here in these parts. On the bill tonight was four bands that led us to look forward to this show tonight. REV THEORY, who we've been on the road with for a few shows here the past couple of weeks. ALTER BRIDGE, who I have no idea about, and PAPA ROACH, who happens to be 10th Street (our management) family of ours. Family, my ass. More...
