The Chariot have shot a video for their song “They Faced Each Other” from their new record, The Fiancee, which came out April 3. “The song defines our new record because of its energy,” says frontman Josh Scogin.
Instead of using standard video footage, the Chariot decided to create the clip entirely with still pictures. “I have done many short films and other small projects before using this method so I figured it would translate well into a performance video for us,” Scogin said. “Shooting the video took several hours in one night, however the lengthy process came when I had to edit down 10,000 photos into about 4,000. After three days of going through them and picking what needed to be used, it was done. Look for it soon.”
There is an online competition going on at Famecast.com, which includes a metal "stage." This is the first season for the metal stage and Famecast's second season competition. Artists register and submit a music video, then fans vote and after 4 total rounds of voting 5 finalists from each stage are flown to Austin TX to compete in a webcast contest. The winner from each genre gets a check for $10,000. There will be a total of 12 winners - one from each stage or "genre."
The metal stage is currently open for voting, but still taking submissions through June 11.
The competition begins with the audience selecting the Top 50 artist performances. The contestant field will be narrowed each round until an ultimate winner is selected. Viewers may vote for as many artists they wish, but may only vote once per artist in each round. Advancing contestants must submit a NEW performance video when they reach the Top 10 (Round 4). Artists can choose to submit a new performance video during the Top 50 and Top 25 (Rounds 2 and 3), however, it is not required. The final five contestants from each Stage will be flown on location to compete in the FameCast 5 Finals, a live webcast where the online viewing audience selects the ultimate winner in each genre – the Famecast Fenom.
Already, some notables including At All Cost, Powerderburn and Desolate Ways are participating, as well as a number of even more underground bands. So head on over and sign up to vote or participate. Or just go and watch the videos.
The first-ever video from 3 LEGGED DOGG, 'Give And Take Away', has been posted on the group’s MySpace page.
Shot in Los Angeles, CA, the video was directed by Raz, a gentleman who has worked with a wide variety of renowned artists. Additionally, the clip was edited by Allison D. Gill (AZRAEL'S BANE, DISTANT THUNDER) at Diamond Recording & Productions, Houston, TX.
The clip that accompanies the Zeppelin-esque tune is refreshingly unlike the majority of overblown videos nowadays – no ‘Lord of the Rings’ reenactments here, just the quintet jamming away on a sound stage.
Comprised of ex-QUIET RIOT guitarist Carlos Cavazo, ex-RAINBOW/DIO bassist Jimmy Bain, ex-BLACK SABBATH/Dio drummer Vinny Appice, ex-BONHAM singer Chas West, and DAVID LEE ROTH guitarist Brian Young, 3 Legged Dogg issued their debut album, Frozen Summer, late last year.
3 Legged Dogg hope to play some live dates in support of their new video and debut album.

Ozzy Osbourne is ready to rock WWE. The rock legend will perform "I Don't Wanna Stop," the first single off his new album, Black Rain, live in Baltimore on SmackDown next week. "I Don't Wanna Stop" is the official theme song for Judgment Day, and Osbourne is no stranger to WWE.
"Working with WWE, it's fun, you know. I'm not new to wrestling. I started doing some stuff with the British Bulldogs many, many years ago," Osbourne told WWE.com, referring to his WrestleMania 2 appearance.
"I became a very good friend of Andre the Giant when he was alive. I used to go drinking with him, and he was such a lovely man," he said.
Epic Records' Black Rain will hit store shelves on May 22. It's Osbourne's first album of new studio material in six years. (Pre-order Black Rain now.)
"To be perfectly truthful with you, I was not aware it was six years. I thought it was a few years, but not six," Osbourne said. "I built a studio at the back of my house. I always wanted to have my own studio, and make my own record, in my own studio, and my dream came true."
Osbourne will embark on a world tour in Moscow on May 27 in support of Black Rain. Then he'll head back to the United States for this summer's 12th annual Ozzfest. Beginning July 12 in Seattle, this year's festival is being dubbed "FreeFest" because admission to the 24-city tour costs nothing. More...
