We've been chatting with bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite or most infamous mosh pit stories from metal shows. For this week's edition, Josh Middleton of Sylosis talks about the crazy antics at Sonisphere and how a festival goer decided to add insult to injury with a fallen metal fan.
There are usually so many crazy things that when you're put on the spot you can't think of any! We've had some really brutal walls of death and circle pits at the festivals we did last year and have some cool footage on our youtube. This is pretty gross but at last years Sonisphere we were playing and some of our friends in another band saw these jocks all off their faces on drugs. One of the dudes fell over and one of his friends just decided to piss all over him...pretty weird. You get all kinds of weirdos at festivals.
Sylosis is fresh off the release of sophomore album "Edge of the Earth," recently dropped a music video for the song "Empyreal," and will be headed to the Brutal Assault festival later this summer. To hear what the band had to say about the album and the video clip, you can check out our recent interview with Josh here.
Feel free to share your favorite mosh pit story below, and check back next Tuesday to get even more Pit Stories from metal shows.

Modesto, California’s Better Left Unsaid has spent the last eight years tirelessly working to carve its own niche in the modern metal movement. Through constant gigging and a desire to one-up each release, the groups first flirtation with success came when they signed to Jamey Jasta’s Stillborn Records to release “The Fight Within” (2008), which included a video on the Headbangers Ball.
The follow up recording, “Only the Dead to Witness” saw the band issue its second video “To the Last Man.” The song also found release via Ozzfest and Rockstar Mayhem Fest samplers. Said album also showed the band evolving from a standard metalcore sound to something more complex with Meshuggah fan appeal.
While battling poor cell reception somewhere outside of Spokane, Washington, Better Left Unsaid drummer Brent Terry spoke to Metal Underground about the above, as well as the band’s current tour opening for Hed(pe) and Mushroomhead. Even though this interview occurred a month ago, the band is still braving the road as part of this massive trek across America. Read onward to learn more about these hot newcomers. More...

Aggressive Disorder has issued the following thank-you note to fans and update about working on new material:
"Hey you metal heads! A.D here with a report on the band and it's progress. The material is coming along well, and we are working hard on what we know will be our best effort to date. Dan's coming along with the new material, and having him back is a real blast. The bass is sounding great, and we are more excited then ever.
"The band is looking forward to getting a some material down as well, and like we mentioned earlier this year, we want to get a few surprise shows in here and there. We aren't booking any small tours or anything due in part to writing the new album, and going into the studio soon, So there isn't any show dates cemented at this time. Just a surprise show here and there. Maybe the summer? Maybe the fall? Your going to have to check back and see for yourself cause as the moments come to do them, you will all be the first to know. And as always, we hope to see you all out there to join us for a night of metal that wont disappoint.
"Also…for those of you on facebook/youtube/myspace/reverbnation and so on... we want you all to spread the word for A.D. We want to get the fan base numbers strong, and have you all turn out to the shows when we come thru your town/city. Download a song or two and send it to your friends and so on... We greatly appreciate your support through it all, and always have. There's strength in numbers, and we all need the A.D militia to stand strong. More...
Brazilian metal act Oligarquia recorded the new album "Distilling Hatred" at Top Noise studio, and the band also commented on the recording process:
"The highlight is that the mastering was done by legendary producer Ciero in his equally legendary Da Tribo studio. We wanted an extreme sound to this album and nobody knows how to make a sound just as good as Ciero.
"Another highlight is the controversial cover, created by artist Felipe Eregion from Mysterian of Art. With the search for an extreme sound, wanted a strong cover to complete the theme of the album, I believe we have achieved this aim!"
The band also commented on the album's delay: "The release was postponed several times due to sponsorship problems and changes in the line-up at the time of recording, this time is about to leave in fact! Our largest sponsorship is the company Frigocenter we only have to be giving thanks on this great force for the band. Oligarquia has always been a totally independent band, with its ideology and views on the music market, which is prostituted. Because several absurd proposals that the band received from record companies, we decided to wait a little longer to get sponsorship and then run the CD independently."
A teaser trailer for the album can be viewed below, with the track listing available after the jump.

"When we started hearing from our fans they wanted to see us back on Uproar this year, we thought, last year was a blast so let's do it again. The fans are crazy and the bands kick ass,” says Avenged Sevenfold's frontman M. Shadows. “We're spending the first half of summer playing some big European festivals so we're going to be ready to get back home and play America's top rock festival."

Australia's Eyefear has checked in with the following update about the title and release of the band's upcoming album:
"Greetings all. To say this is well overdue would be an understatement. But we are back and ready to unleash our new CD titled... 'The Inception of Darkness!' Release will be some time around September - October this year and we will be revealing more and more details as the release date approaches.
"So what has been happening behind the scenes and why the long silence. We just wanted to step away and really focus on the wring of the new CD. We took a totally different approach to The Unseen which was written and recorded in six months. The new material is by far some of the darkest and most complex music we have ever written so their was a lot of time spent on every little detail.
"Another major reason is that Kosta needed time to set up his home studio were all the preproduction was done and most of the instruments were recorded. We are really looking forward to getting back on stage and we can announce that we will be supporting the mighty Blind Guardian on their Australian tour along with our very close friends Black Majesty.
"Blind Guardian tour dates - Friday 30th September at The Factory Theatre Sydney and Sunday 2nd October at Billboard The Venue Melbourne
