"Just a quick note to say that it has (again) come to my attention that some asshole(s) has set up facebook pages pretending to be me. I don't have a facebook page and every 'Mikael Akerfeldt' page up there is either a idiot impostor or a simple fan page and they have nothing to do with me, and I don't endorse any of them.
"Do not post to these pages as it's simply a parasite kid running it trying to get some attention. I will bring these people down (to Chinatown) as soon as possible.

De Profundis has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new bassist:
"De Profundis and bassist Aleksej Obradovic have parted ways after more than 3 years of successful collaboration due to musical differences. Additionally, Aleksej's job commitments would have made it very hard for the band to go touring or to perform live on a regular basis. The split was amicable and we remain on good terms with Aleksej.
"De Profundis would like to thank Aleksej for his contribution to the band and wish him the best of luck in his future musical endeavours.
"A replacement bass player has already been found. We have been fortunate enough to secure Arran McSporran's services as a new full-time band member. Arran will be laying down all the bass tracks on the new De Profundis album, due to be recorded in June 2009 with producer Fernando Pereira. Arran will be making his live debut with De Profundis at Romania's Rock City Open Air 2009 Festival.
"We will be shortly announcing several more festival dates this summer."

The second suite focuses on the new epic concept album "American Soldier," which was released on March 31 from Atco/Rhino. The Soldier suite features guest vocal performances by Navy rescue swimmer and Blue Angels crew chief A.J. Fratto on the intense set opener "Sliver" and lead singer Geoff Tate’s daughter Emily on the moving ballad "Home Again." The final suite revisits 1990’s triple platinum opus "Empire" with performances of some of the band’s most beloved tracks including "Jet City Woman," "Silent Lucidity," and "Best I Can."
“The sound of a Panzer tank rolling down your street and politely knocking on your door, then smashing your head in when you open it,” laughs guitarist James Genenz, as he describes what Jungle Rot's latest album sounds like.

Canada's The Agonist has issued the following statement about the availability of their new album:
"Many people have been writing in saying they can't seem to find our album in stores! That isn't fair to you or us. So, the best way to solve this is feedback! No matter where in the world you are, if you are having trouble tracking down our albums, here's what to do:
"1- Tell the record store you want The Agonist and ask them to stock up. 2- Respond to this blog with the name and location of the store that isn't carrying the albums. 3- Spread the word to your friends - the more people that buy our album in your city, the more chance we have of getting to stop there on tour! We want to meet you!
"Of course you can always buy our album from right HERE on our myspace, but it's a little more personal to buy it, autographed, directly from us when we play a show, right?
"We will do our best to get the album out there and come play your town, but we do need your help, so let's make it happen!

In This Moment are currently on tour in Japan. Guitarist Chris Howorth has checked in with the following tour update: "Hello Believers!
"I am writing from my hotel room in Osaka, Japan. This is our third day here and its been an exciting trip so far, we flew in two days ago and it was a hellish flight, after 10+ hours in a tiny seat with no air vents and some really nasty smelling food we arrived in Tokyo only to be stuck on the plane for an additional 45 minutes due to swine flu quarantine procedures. It was so bizzare; we likened it to the scene in E.T. when the govenment tents off the house and storm in with all the hazmat gear on, or the scene in Alien 3 when they show up to take Ripley off the planet, we are talking hazmat suits, face masks, goggles, gloves taped on, the works. They filmed us with an infra-red camera and questioned everyone (God help the poor bastard who flies to Japan with a stuffy nose or something). More...
