According to the web site of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, AVENGED SEVENFOLD will be joining SYSTEM OF A DOWN, HATEBREED and BAD ACID TRIP for an Ozzfest "off date" on July 12 at The Woodlands, Texas venue.
Although AVENGED SEVENFOLD have not yet been officially confirmed for this year's Ozzfest, they are widely expected to be announced on May 23 as the tour's main-stage "mystery band."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD are currently finishing up a co-headlining U.S. tour with COHEED AND CAMBRIA. The trek is scheduled to wrap up this Saturday (May 20) in New York City.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD are supporting their 2005 album, "City of Evil", and current single, "Beast and the Harlot". The group next heads overseas for some European festivals.
DEICIDE have finalized the track listing for their new album, "The Stench of Redemption", due on June 6 via Earache Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Scars of the Crucifix" was recorded at Morrisound in Tampa, Florida and marks the first recording with the new DEICIDE lineup following the departure of the Hoffman brothers. Joining frontman Glen Benton and drummer Steve Asheim in the new formation are guitarists Jack Owen (ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE) and Ralph Santolla (ex-ICED EARTH, DEATH).
"The Stench of Redemption" (view cover artwork at this location) track listing:
01. The Stench of Redemption
02. Death to Jesus
04. Homage for Satan
05. Never to Be Seen Again
06. The Lord's Sedition
07. Walk with the Devil In Dreams You Behold
08. Crucified for the Innocence
09. Not of this Earth
Some editions will contain a bonus track — a cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Black Night", with lyrics that were re-written by DEICDE frontman Glen Benton.
As previously reported, DEICIDE have confirmed an all-ages CD release show commemorating 06/06/06 (June 6) and the release of "The Stench of Redemption". The concert will take place at the Iliff Park Saloon in Aurora, Colorado, near Denver. The will also be embarking on a full U.S. tour beginning around September 20 and running through October 31. Plans also exist for DEICIDE to head over to Japan before the end of the year.
On July 18th, 2006, One Dead Three Wounded will release "Moving Units," their sophomore effort on New Jersey-based 1x1 Music. "We spent more time on this record… a year...it makes for a better record," says vocalist Tim Zahodski. "It's more aggressive, pissed off, cynical…and it's better written." Continuing in the band's unique style, Moving Units is a metal/hardcore fan's fantasy album: the bastard child of Southern grooves and sledgehammer breakdowns.
"Moving Units is our reaction to the insincerity of the business side of music. We've never been in a position where that mattered. It's a record that really questions our ethics and our place as apart of the industry. It also serves as a reminder for our future selves to not get sucked into it all. I want it to remind us what motivated us to play music to begin with: five kids in a van, in a basement, or a hall sharing something."
One Dead Three Wounded tours constantly and presents a crushing live performance. "That's what the song 'Pretty Faces, Shitty Places' is about. We play in some of the worst parts of town whenever we go on tour, but it's great to see all of these kids come out just to see us." The band immediately gets the crowd moving, and it's not uncommon for kids to rush the stage in an attempt to share vocal duties with Zahodski, especially in Philadelphia. "The fans react really well. You cannot recreate the feelings of a live hometown show."
A track listing for Moving Units comprises:
01. Planning Obsolescence
02. Black Holes
03. Moving Units
05. Cold War
07. Pretty Faces, Shitty Places
08. We're Broke Til Payday
09. Compassionate Assassins
10. Bad Business

The Slayer-headlined "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted," has confirmed that the tour will kick off on June 15 in Camden, NJ and not in Peoria, IL on June 10 as had been previously announced.
The rescheduling is due to Slayer's bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's minor gall bladder surgery which successfully took place earlier this month.
"We wanted to give Tom an extra few days to make sure that he's at 100% before he puts one foot on the road," said Slayer's manager Rick Sales. We apologise for any confusion that this has caused, but Tom and the band want the fans to get the best Slayer shows possible."
The St. Louis date, originally scheduled for June 12, has been moved to June 21; Chicago, originally set for June 13, is now scheduled for June 20. The entire itinerary for Slayer's ""Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted," featuring Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Mastodon, and Thine

In the episode, which is currently airing at this location, Randy Blythe gives a tour of LAMB OF GOD's recording facilities — the Sound of Music Studios in Richmond, VA. He shows the viewer the entire setup for the upcoming record, and gives his first interview since the recording process began, in which he discusses their new record, the songwriting process, possible guests on the record, their upcoming Unholy Alliance tour with SLAYER, and future touring plans. "Metal Injection" also managed to sneak in a new riff into this episode. Also featured on this episode of "Metal Injection", the crew stops by Melissa Cross's studio where she is giving vocal lessons to Angela Gossow of ARCH ENEMY, as well as videos from LAMB OF GOD, ARCH ENEMY, MASTODON, CONVERGE, ORIGIN, and much more.
OVERCAST, the reunited Massachusetts band which features in its ranks KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio and SHADOWS FALL singer Brian Fair, recently entered the studio to begin re-recording 10-14 classic tracks and laying down two previously unreleased songs for a full-length album entitled "Reborn to Kill Again". Adam Dutkiewicz (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) has signed on as producer of this endeavor for which a label deal has yet to be announced. The band issued the following update on the studio sessions:
"We are nearing the final days of the new OVERCAST recording. After today, just two days are left at the studio. Boy, oh boy, we could not be happier at the outcome of these new OVERCAST recording sessions. These songs have truly taken on a much meaner, more brutal tone than ever before. Words can't begin to describe how unbelievably proud we are of this. It seems that we have finally full realized his juggernaut of pummeling potential OVERCAST possesses. (Took long enough right?)"
OVERCAST's last performance for the foreseeable future will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2006 upstairs at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.

TJ Morris of Watchers Entertainment, one of the organizers of the Death In The Forest Festival — set to take place May 20 in Middletown, New York — has issued the following update:
"Due to the inclement weather, death in the forest 2006 will be moved from the Orange County Fair grounds. YES, MOVED FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS. As we aware that many people will be in the area on May 19th for the 1349/ BELPHEGOR/ TYPHUS/ ENGORGE signing at rock fantasy, and have also made hotel arrangements for the nights of may 19th and 20th in the Middletown area, we are doing everything in our power to relocate to a venue within close proximity of the Orange County Fair Grounds. I realize a great deal of you are probably pissed, thinking to yourself 'WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!' Well, that’s exactly how we feel about this situation as well. However, there has been rain in this area for the last three days, and another five days of rain is forecasted. Even if it dried up by May 20th, the grounds at the OC Fair would not support the weight of our equipment. So, once again, we are going to have to move the fest. We are frantically looking for a venue that is A) Large enough to suppo rt 2/3 stages, B) open to the idea of a black metal / death metal festival, and C) available for the dates of May 19th (setup) May 20th (event) and May 21st (break-down). If anyone OWNS, OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO OWNS, such a spot in the Middletown, NY area, or in close proximity, please feel free to contact us. We have tried every conceivable venue in the area, and are getting stonewalled. More...

Swedish thrashers DARKANE have just returned from being on tour in Europe with SADUS and GORY BLISTER. Here's the official update from DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström:
"We had a great time and the audiences were fantastic! After returning home to our hometown Helsingborg, we played a show here and filmed it with nine cameras for a possible DVD. We are gonna listen to/watch the results within the upcoming days and see if it's worth working on (mixing the sound and editing the video). If it's good we might release it later this year together with extra material from our career. We've always brought a video camera on tours and studio recordings, so it might be a lot of fun to watch."
Diecast have set "Internal Revolution" as the title of their highly anticipated new album, which is currently set for a September 19th release through Century Media Records. The group will hit the studio with acclaimed producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall) next week, and this will also serve as their first recording effort with an entirely new rhythm section composed of Dennis Pavia (drums) and Brad Horion (bass). Diecast are now more focused and determined than ever and can't wait to show the world what they are truly capable of creating.
Paul Stoddard (vocals) checks in with the following report: "What's up bitches, sorry I haven't done this in awhile, but, as I'm sure you've already heard, a lot of shit has gone down. Long-time drummer Jason Costa is no longer with us, and we wish him best of luck in life. The losses don't end there. After a lengthy time of self-reflection, Jeremy Wooden has decided to hang up his bass. He was the father of Diecast and is still considered a brother to all. We wish Jeremy and his lovely girlfriend Adriana nothing but the best for there future, and he will be terribly missed.
"As they say, with loss comes gain. It's with great pleasure that I get to announce two new members to the Diecast family. Please welcome Dennis Pavia (drums) and Brad Horion (bass). Dennis came to us before we even started officially looking for a replacement. We were so taken by his skill and ability to learn the material so quickly that we knew he would be the perfect fit. Brad (former bass player for Breadinground) has been our tour manager for quite some time now and even filled in for Jeremy on our European tour with Napalm Death. We are extremely proud to have both of these bitches now along for the ride and expect everyone to welcome them in with proper hazing and abuse.
"To our fans and friends, let there be no worries at all. Diecast are now stronger than ever. We Just finished writing our new record, Internal Revolution, and I think it's going to be one of the most diverse records to hit our scene to date. Guaranteed to be something for everyone. We start recording the new record next week in Hadly, Massachusetts with the well-known producer Zeuss, the god of recording heavy bands. We'll continue to check in throughout the recording process. Thanks to all of our fans and friends who have been supporting us through all the shit we've been going through. We can't wait to party with every one of you. See you all soon."
