Megadeth's David Ellefson has posted a video update from the band's stop in El Savador, which can be viewed at this location. Ellefson also issued the following statement about the band's Latin American tour dates:
"We just arrived in El Salvador this evening, greeted by anxious and excited fans at the hotel. It's hot and humid and the mood in the air feels like it's going to be an awesome show tomorrow. Looking forward to our debut in this beautiful country, the final show of the 2010 Latin America tour."
Italian metallers Ecnephias have issued the following comments about the title of their new album "Ways of Descention:"
"About the title 'Ways of Descention'... The word 'Descention' is a 'pun' between 'descension' and 'ascension.' Descension: The act of going downward; descent; falling or sinking; declension; degradation into darkness. Ascension: To ascent to a higher plane of existence. According to theories there are 7 planes on the path of human evolution. Ascention is the process you go through when you die, but only if you are far enough evolved. When you are ascended, you exist as pure energy, that can take several forms."
You can also check out Ecnephias tracks via the band's official MySpace page.
U.K. based prog act Haken has checked in with the following announcement about performing at the 2010 edition of the ProgPower Europe festival:
"First of all - a big thank you to everyone who made it down to the Underworld last night - it was great to play to such an appreciative crowd. A special mention also goes to Love Crave and Diablo Swing Orchestra for being such nice guys and gals.
"Exciting news in Haken world; we will have the pleasure of playing at ProgPower Europe on Saturday the 2nd of October, along with the likes of Darkwater, Myrath and Shadow Gallery! (among others). More info about the festival can be found at this location."
Adelaide’s Truth Corroded has issued updates on their new album among other things. Their new album, entitled "Worship The Bled," will be mixed and mastered in Sweden by Scar Symmetry guitarist Jonas Jkelgren. Because of a lineup change with Andrew Parkinson joining as their new drummer, the band has rescheduled the recording until July, and mastering in August. Liam Okninkski, the former drummer, has left the band to join the army but will still play a couple of final shows on May 22nd in Adelaide, and July 3rd in Brisbane.
Commenting on the recent developments in the bands line up and the upcoming recording, bass guitarist Greg Shaw says: "Andrew is a great drummer with a highly professional attitude and musical background, so the band is really pleased to have him join. He brings enthusiasm and a strong ethic that the band needs to take its music to the next stage. With most of the album being written by Mark ( guitarist ) and myself using a drum machine to map out the songs, the transition has been seemless. Andrew has started working on the new songs and we look forward to entering the studio with him in July. The new songs are some of the fastest the band has written, but also the most crushing. This album builds on the previous album 'Upon The Warlords Crawl,' but destroys using new methods."
"Worship The Bled" will be released in Australia in September through Truth Inc Records / MGM with the band currently working on licensing for the U.S., Japan and Europe for late 2010.
