KOCH Records’ first signing for its new metal division, Circus Diablo, has announced headlining tour dates in between Ozzfest 2007 tour dates.
The band features members past and present from The Cult, Fuel, The Almighty and Camp Freddy. Circus Diablo is Billy Morrison (vocals), Billy Duffy (lead guitar), Ricky Warwick (guitar), and Brett Scallions (bass), with Charles Ruggiero of Slunt beating the skins live, while Velvet Revolver’s Matt Sorum performed all the drum tracks on the album, courtesy of RCA Records.
“KOCH got this because they got this,” remarked front man Morrison, “and we couldn’t be at a better place.” Morrison, the founder of the legendary, mega-star studded, Hollywood-based cover band Camp Freddy continues, “I will not be pining for some lost love while I hover over a piano, not even close. Rock exists below the belt and we intend to deliver rock the way it was meant to be: hard, fast, and dirty.”
The self-titled debut album will be released on July 3rd, 2007 and features the single, “Loaded.”
The band hits the road this summer in support of their debut album, with touring plans continuing through 2008. You can catch Circus Diablo at Ozzfest, and at press time the band has confirmed a co-headlining tour with Nick (Queens Of The Stone Age) Oliveri’s Mondo Generator.

New Jersey power metallers ARCTICFLAME have set "Declaration" as the title of their second album, tentatively due before the end of the year. Due to scheduling conlicts, relocation of their studio, and the recording of the next ATTACKER CD, ATTACKER's Mike Sabatini will not be able to complete the new ARCTICFLAME project. Dave Manheimer, who just completed the new SYMPHONY X record, will produce ARCTICFLAME's sophomore release.
ARCTICFLAME recently announced the addition of guitarist Steve Demalion to the group's ranks. Steve previously played for the '80's rock band WARRIOR, touring with them for three years throughout Canada and the U.S. Having recently moving to New Jersey from Tacoma, Washington, he answered an Internet ad placed by ARCTICFLAME, who were seeking a replacement for departed guitarist Don Dioro.
Commented drummer Mike Paradine: "Steve brings some great metal guitar work plus a high energetic stage prescence that was missing from that side of the stage. And for some reason he reminds me of Gary Moore!"

Cover artwork, again designed by artist Paul Romano (The Red Chord, Mastodon), can be viewed here here, where the album is also available for pre-order in two exclusive CD / t-shirt packages.
Bringing Romano back on board again for artwork, the band also tapped producer Erik Rutan (Cannibal Corpse, Vital Remains, Goatwhore) to record 'Malice' at Mana Studios earlier this spring. This will mark the debut of vocalist Nate Johnson (ex-Premonitions of War, ex-Deadwater Drowning) with THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD. Melodic black metal band REQUIEM AETERNAM, originally from Uruguay but most recently based in New York, has posted the following message on its official web site:
"After a long period of extreme silence, REQUIEM AETERNAM has already begun its new fight toward the third opus. In order to write the music, Jose Romero [guitar, vocals] has relocated to Florida's Tampa Bay area, American death metal's cradle. As it was already mentioned, classical music is going to be the main resource of this new album [after having made an important research and selection of composers from Europe, North and Latin America]; although lyrically will be totally based on Romero's brand new registered book 'Destiny-Man'. This literary work deepens the chief idea of 'Forbidden Writings' and develops a complete philosophical treatise organized in four chapters; however, now the employed language is English."
REQUIEM AETERNAM's latest album, "Philosopher", was released in North America in December 2004 via ICorp. "Philosopher" was recorded at Big Blue Meenie studios and features a guest appearance by drummer Alex Hernández (IMMOLATION).
According to Sweden's Close-Up magazine, long-running Swedish death metallers DISMEMBER have tapped drummer Thomas Daun (ex-REPUGNANT, INSISION, SUBVISION) for their upcoming European tour.
DISMEMBER last month announced that it has parted ways with longtime drummer Fred Estby. "My decision to put my family in first hand makes it impossible to keep on touring and commit to the band full-time," Estby said in a statement. "I want to thank all the fans, friends, bands and all the other cool people I've met through the years and I wish DISMEMBER all the best in the future."
DISMEMBER is currently in the process of writing new material and "this sad loss will not interrupt any future plans in any way," the band wrote on its web site. "The commitment to keep on playing is stronger than ever!"
Italian "symphonic power epic" metal band THY MAJESTIE has announced the addition of Dario Cascio (vocals) and Simone Campione (guitar) to the group's ranks. "We are so pleased to have them in our team!" the band writes on its web site. "They brought us life and new enthusiasm. They are officially in the band. We look forward to starting working on the new album!"
Check out videos of the new THY MAJESTIE lineup performing the songs "The Chosen", "The King and the Warrior" and "Echoes of War" at the Fear Dark festivals in Holland earlier in the month at this location.
THY MAJESTIE parted ways with vocalist Dario Grillo a couple of months ago due to personal differences. "It was a mistake to believe that with Dario Grillo the things might have run easily," the band stated at the time. "We already got it four years ago when there was some communication problem. And so it was after a hard struggle to make his mind up about our gigs in Holland we decided to leave him with his troubles that may have thwarted the smooth running of our work. Good luck to Dario. This time we're sure we won't get any relationship anymore."
French metallers HACRIDE will complete the rest of their tour with stand in vocalist Yann Ligner (MISTAKEN ELEMENT, KLONE). "Sam Bourreau's health condition is getting better and he should be back in full shape to destroy everything on Hellfest," says a press release.

Dark Haven recently issued the following update announcing the departure of vocalist/bassist Brandon McLaughlin:

Launch Radio Networks reports: Former AUDIOSLAVE and SOUNDGARDEN singer Chris Cornell received the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award at the third annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert on Friday (May 11) at the Music Box Theatre in Los Angeles. Cornell was honored for his work with the MAP Fund to help musicians who are recovering addicts. Cornell, who has been clean and sober himself for four and a half years, told Launch what the award meant to him. "Being acknowledged for it, I think, is great, but this isn't a particular situation, we don't do this for the acknowledgement," he said. "I'm happy, you know, for the acknowledgement, I also, I'm very inspired by — Stevie Ray Vaughan, I think, is a very inspiring person, so, like, to be given an award that was named after this guy, you know, and for similar reasons of inspiration, if I can do that for other people, I think that's great."
Cornell admitted to using drugs and alcohol since he was 12 and told Launch what finally led him to check himself into rehab in 2002. "I really had to come to the conclusion, the sort of humbling conclusion that, guess what, I'm no different than anybody else, I've got to sort of ask for help — not something I ever did, ever," he said. "And then part two of that is, like, accept it when it comes and, you know, believe what people tell me. And trusting in what I have been told, and then seeing that work."
All proceeds from the event benefited the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.
The dinner featured performances by Cornell, ARMY OF ANYONE, DEPECHE MODE singer David Gahan and others.
Cornell just finished a solo tour to promote the June 5 release of his second solo album, "Carry On". He next heads to Europe and returns to the U.S. at the end of May for more dates.
