Norwegian black metallers Den Saakaldte have checked in with the following update about parting ways with their drummer Anders Kobro:
"We are in the position to announce that due to the distance between us, we came to a conclusion that we can't continue working with Kobro behind the drum kit. Kobro during the last months was a precious help and Den Saakaldte thank him for his services and dedication. The new album though is going to be rehearsed and worked a lot and the Kristiansand-Oslo distance makes our goal unreachable. We will have to start the searching for a new drummer that will be located in Oslo, soon. We will get back with news when we have news."
Metalinjection.net has posted a new video interview online, as part of their "Instruments of Death" series, with Obscura bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling. Australian metalcore act Parkway Drive is set to release their third album, "Deep Blue," on June 29th via Epitaph Records. "Deep Blue" was tracked and mixed in Los Angeles, CA by Joe Barresi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Bad Religion, Tool), and mastered by engineer Brian Gardner. A teaser trailer for the album can be viewed below
"It's basically about the search for truth in a world that seems to be devoid of that," says vocalist and lyricist Winston McCall, explaining the narrative running through the album. "The story is told through the eyes of a man who wakes up and realizes that his life is a lie and nothing he believes in is real. So he tries to find the truth within himself and his journey takes him to the bottom of the ocean and back again."
"It's definitely the Parkway record I'm most proud of," claims Winston. "We felt like were in the deep-end recording with someone new, so to have it come out exactly how we wanted it, and pretty much exceed our expectations, is a big ask, but that's exactly what Joe did for us."

The brutal, metallic, crust punk attack of MASAKARI's debut album will be released on June 8th, 2010 via Southern Lord Recordings.
The label describes the sound on their new album: "MASAKARI unleash a devastating blend of d-beat crust and anxious hardcore descendant to His Hero Is Gone and From Ashes Rise, as well as more punk/crust founders G.I.S.M. and Discharge, and adopt these classic styles to their own point-blank, by-the-throat approach. Crushing, discordant riffing smashes its way through the barrage of ravenous drum battery, broken, eerie guitar leads entangled in the song structures, and all fueled by guttural, searing vocals that power the angry, socio-politically inspired lyrics."
Following a 7" on Halo of Flies Records, the quartet has constructed their debut full-length "The Prophet Feeds," bearing 10 tracks showcasing the band's elevated songwriting, as well as their increasing hatred for governmental corruption, greed and atrocities against humanity. The album was engineered by Bill Korecky (Incantation, Keelhaul, Integrity) and recorded at Mars Studio in the band's home town of Cleveland.
You can download an MP3 of the track "Rapid Dominance" from "The Prophet Feeds" to get a taste of the new material.
