This Sunday is Mother's Day, and Roadrunner Records though it would be nice to let some of the label artists represent for their moms, who supported their kids' musical ambitions early on. Roadrunner asked two simple questions - "Does your mom like/support your band?" and "What's your mom's favorite song by your band?"
Max Cavalera, Sepultura/Nailbomb/Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy: "Yes, my mom was our first big supporter. She let everybody camp in our house. Our house was always full of metal kids. Her favorite song is 'Innerself' [from Sepultura's Beneath the Remains]. I think she likes the lyrics, because it was about when I was living in Brazil and she remembers that period of our life."
Tyler Connolly, Theory of a Deadman: "My mother is a big supporter of our band, of course, and always wants to make sure we wear our seat belts on our tour bus. I don't think she has a favorite song, but always wonders where I got my terrible potty mouth from. We usually roll through her home town once a year and she's the best at wrangling sluts for me. I love my mom."
Phil Demmel, Machine Head: "My mom, being a musician, was supportive of my interest in music from the word go. Her and my father cultivated my 'hobby' doing everything from matching me dollar for dollar on my first guitar, videotaping my earliest gigs at the seediest Bay Area bars/clubs, to standing on stage with me in front of 60,000 people in her native Portugal when we opened for Metallica. She loves our acoustic material. Our songs 'Descend the Shades of NIght' and 'Darkness Within' are favorites." More...

"When we announced that we were playing in Venezuela, we were overwhelmed by the number of promoters in other countries wanting to book us on the same trip, but due to our current album commitments we are already pushing it by going to South America at all. But, after some deliberation, we decided to add one more show, and Colombia worked best this time around. But we have plans to hit at least five or six South American countries next year, as well as a bunch in Central America, so they just have to hold out a little longer and we guarantee it'll be well worth their wait!"

Nuclear Blast has issued the following statement about Sonic Syndicate
"Last year was an insane rollercoaster for Sonic Syndicatewith extremes of both highs and lows. The band played in front literally the biggest crowds of their entire career, but parted ways with 2 band members. They were presented with Gold Records amongst other music awards, but lost over 100,000 friends when their Facebook page was deleted. The list of good and bad that pursues Sonic is longer than their bar tab at the Metal Hammer Awards. So after the We Rule the World Tour, which spanned Japan, Scandinavia, entire Europe and Russia was complete they decided to call a hiatus, in all honestly not knowing what would happen next. All they knew was they needed to be with their families.
"Nine months of silence. After their joint-headline spot at Summerbreeze festival to over 35,000 people Sonic haven't played a single show since, declining tour offers to play with some of the worlds hugest bands. But all of this still hasn't been enough to stop their fans. The overwhelming amount of requests to see them live again have kept pouring in everyday since they announced the break. Sooner or later Sonic would have to comment something."
The band has now issued the following statement: More...
Swedish death metal act Erupted has issued the following statement about the band's upcoming new album:
"OK, Situation update! Mixing is nearing completion, and from what I have heard so far it's sounding brutal enough to impregnate any attractive women listening to it with the spawn of satan himself.
"We are taking bookings for the summer, and so far it seems like Småland atleast will get all the Erupted action they can handle.
"We are in the process of designing and printing merchandise for the new album, so you all better start saving up, because it is a common fact that: Erupted shirt = badass motherf#cker. (This makes the owners of Carnivore shirts vintage badasses, retro brutality)
"We will release material from the upcoming album for your listening pleasure as soon as we possibly can. But, for any of this to be of any use we need to reach more people!
"So, our suggestion is that you tell all your friends, enemies and random people you might come in contact with about us, maybe even share our page, and in return we will keep providing you with awesome death metal! Any takers?" More...
