Daemonicus has checked in with the following update about recording new material for an upcoming album:
"Beers are flowing, notes are being shredded!! Good wednesday in C.C.H.B. studio. PO is just laying the final touch on the track 'Nothing but death.' A dark and brutal song indeed! The Ninja-guitar is doing the trick.
"Stefan is now in the studio with us and preparing for the vocal recording to begin. An upcoming tour is been planned. Stay tuned for more details!"
Candlelight Records today has confirmed the worldwide signing of Falloch. Andy Marshall and Scott McLean joined their talents together only a year ago but have already found a curious and growing audience.
The band, which combines a wide variety of styles including metal, post-rock and folk, are completing details for a debut album, "Where Distant Spirits Remain," planned for release late summer.
Commented McLean of the signing, “We are extremely happy to be offered this chance to sign with such a well respected label, which throughout its many years has had so many influential albums/bands on its roster. From the classic albums from Emperor and the early albums of Opeth right through to new exciting acts such as Altar Of Plagues and Winterfylleth. We are looking forward to releasing our debut album through Candlelight, who are known for bringing many new and talented bands to the forefront of the metal scene. We hope to become a strong part of the Candlelight family and look forward to great things in the future.”
Candlelight Records also added: "Where Distant Spirits Remain was produced by Ronan Chris Murphy (Ulver, King Crimson) and is set to include seven songs that will showcase the band’s unique blend of styles. Fans of Alcest, Agalloch, Primordial and others will embrace the band’s somber and emotional sounds. The duo’s lyrics focus around themes of nostalgia, sorrow, nature and longing.
"Falloch adds to Candlelight’s new grouping of international signings, including Altar Of Plagues (Europe), Gnaw Their Tongues, The Living Fields, The Meads Of Asphodel and more. The duo plan to add musicians to their line-up in time for the album’s release so that they can present their material live on stage. Further info to be announced soon...."
Unearth is currently readying to release "Darkness In The Light," the band's fifth full-length, in North America on July 5th via Metal Blade Records. The album was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts with producer (and Killswitch Engage guitarist) Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Trivium, et al). The cover artwork can be viewed below.
Commented Unearth vocalist Trevor Phipps of the band's latest output: "Darkness In The Light is without a doubt some of the heaviest, most dynamic and memorable tunes we've ever written. The disc is littered with the shred 'n' stomp-filled songs our fans would expect from us, as well as some added vocal hooks, guitar melodies, guitar solos and some different paths taken in style and structure. We knew we had to continue to separate ourselves from the pack and to cement our place in the heavy metal world as one of the leaders and not as one of the many followers that seem to hop on the trend wagon and give up so easily when the going gets hard. We are here to stay and collectively we couldn't be any more fired up to play these songs around the world for our fans new and old."
Arsonists Get All The Girls is set to release the band's new album "Motherland" this coming Tuesday, May 17th. The group is now giving fans the chance to experience "Motherland" by streaming the album in its entirety at Myspace.com. Head over to this location to check out the album.
The track listing is as follows:
1. Rise to Fall
2. Neck of the Contrast
4. It was a Memoir
5. Dr. Teeth
7. Waiting for the War to Die
8. West Cliffs
9. Hemlock Like This
11. Our Super Symmetry
12. Will Someone Please Turn Down the Ocean?
MMA superstar Josh Barnett has spearheaded a relief fund to help the victims of the recent travesty that hit Japan. Barnett is very open about his love of heavy metal and he knew it made perfect sense to put together a show that featured some of the metal's best acts to raise some money for this very worthy cause.
This special event featuring All Shall Perish, Animals As Leaders, Cattle Decapitation, Abysmal Dawn, Internal Corrosion, and Thrown Into Exile is set to take place at the House of Blues in Hollywood on Saturday, May 26th and all proceeds go directly to the American Red Cross Japanese relief effort. Tickets are only $15 and are on-sale now here or at this location.
Barnett states: "As someone that has worked in Japan over the last nine years and even lived there for a time I felt an obligation to try and help a country which has shown so much love and hospitality to me over the years. This event dealt a devastating blow to the 'Land of The Rising Sun,' not only economically but to the hearts, minds and souls of its people. I don't think that my event can in any way reverse what has happened or completely restore a country and its people, but music has the power to move the heart and soul. That kind energy can reach masses and be transferred to others and if even one person can be helped, it was worth it. In any form that we can generate funds, support and just simply the bushido spirit to all those affected by this we will be successful and keep the sun forever rising in Japan.
“I am incredibly lucky and thankful for all the bands, companies and people that have helped me organize such an awesome show and I not only look forward to seeing everyone there but to sit back and be a fan myself. I'll be the big blonde guy headbanging, horns in the air."
Ben Orum (guitarist of All Shall Perish) further comments: “We would like to personally thank Josh Barnett for inviting us to play this very special Japanese relief benefit show. What happened over there was a travesty and while it's easy to not think about the events that took place because we are so far away, we hope to remind people how much help is still needed. We will be performing some new material off of our upcoming CD, This is Where it Ends, so come out and check it out! Check out the link here for a sneak peak to some of our new material."

Italian duo OvO has just unleashed a first official video, filmed for the track "Marie," which falls from the band's latest full-length creation of off-kilter and unclassifiable heavy rock, "Cor Cordium." Inspired by horror b-movies, the "Marie" video was shot in the belly of Berlin's fetish/bondage performance scene under the supervision of Italian director/filmmaker Mauro Diciocia. Experience the madness below.
Christian metalcore quintet I The Breather has dealt with multiple van breakdowns over the course of two weeks, but continued on to bring the music to the masses and recently completed a tour with labelmates Upon A Burning Body. The band members also allowed PolyCarp Media unlimited access into their daily routine, so be sure to check out the video below for an uninhibited look into a “Day In The Life of I The Breather" below.
Morgan (drums) states: “This video was shot by our good friend Andres Ortiz of Polycarp Media. It documents our show at Rocketown in Pompano Beach, FL on the 'Welcome To The Jungle' tour. It perfectly captures what it’s like for a day in the life of us: I The Breather. It shows us in our element, having fun, all the stress that we take on and our van breaking down. It’s just a real representation of what life is like on the road. Nothing is sugarcoated.
“Our van broke down multiple times on this tour. The worst had to be leaving us stranded on a highway for Easter Sunday. Despite us being discouraged and ready to just head on home after a second breakdown in Florida it was our fans and everyone who came out to the show that night that kept us going. They showed us so much love and support. The show at Rocketown was one of my favorite shows of the tour. It was definitely worth it to tough it out and play the rest of this tour. The shows were unreal and everyone who came out to the shows on this entire tour was amazing! Thank you all so much!
“This summer we will be on the 'Scream The Prayer' tour alongside Norma Jean, Sleeping Giant, The Chariot and many others! We’re very excited to be a part of the tour this year. This also marks our second appearance on this tour and we’re looking forward to this year even more than last year’s. Hope to see you all at a show! Come to the merch table to meet us and hang out!”

Neranature, the debut solo album by female vocalist Nera of the Polish metal band Darzamat, has posted a music video online for the song "Precious Now." You can check out the clip below. "Precious Now" is off the band's upcoming album "Foresting Wounds." Additional details on the album, along with Neranature's cover of the Garbage song "The World is Not Enough," are available at this location.
Nera also commented on the video: "Actually we chose the song 'Precious Now' months ago, since it's one of my favourite tracks on the album. The script was being shaped in my head week after week, though shooting the video took us only a couple of days. On the literal level, it's about running away from the city to slow down the pace, gather one's thoughts, to spend some time in solitude. The lyrics, in turn, are about enjoying the 'here and now,' leaving all troublesome memories behind, as also breaking free from the snares of one's plans for the future. All we have is this passing moment...".

The vegan black metal chef has posted his first episode online, detailing how to make Pad Thai the black metal way. You can check out the clip below.
A message from the vegan black metal chef himself about the episode reads as follows:
"This is a complete walkthrough on how to make the best Vegan Pad Thai Ever! I tried to only use ingredients that are easily available. Tamarind paste or soup base is the only odd one in there. It can easily be purchaced at an asian grocery store...but Wal Mart might even have tamarind something. Even Tamarind Nectar will probably work. Just use less or no extra water. You can also substitute some coconut milk for some of the water.
"There will be no 'recipe' given, watch the video to see the amounts, learn the concepts, and give it a try. To me Recipes intimidate people and take away your aspect of creation. They are ok in some respects, I just don't know many people that make things from recipes.
"Btw, all of the armor is rubber, not leather. All music and video is made by the Vegan Black Metal Chef (Brian Manowitz). Enjoy and Make this!"
Denmark's Illdisposed has issued the following update about reports that the band had canceled upcoming tour dates:
"We wanted to make a short statement regarding the upcoming tour and all the rumors regarding it being canceled. Our EX-booker M.A.D. fucked up major and when we asked for more info we got no answers, so decided to fire them.
"M.A.D. then sent out a mass mail to all promoters saying the tour has been canceled, which is not the case. We have been working overtime trying to save this tour and thanks to a lot of friends, understanding promoters and other agencies helping us out - we have done the impossible - ILLDISPOSED WILL BE ON TOUR!
"A few shows did get canceled out of allegiance to M.A.D. - these shows being Stuttgart and Berlin. We will play these cities in the fall though.
"Joining us will be our Danish bro's Croceel for the entire tour - and our label mates But We Try It will join on 4 dates. So, If you ever reviewed us, saw us play at a club show or Festival - even if you never even heard of us - please come down to the shows - tell your friends, family and neighbors that Illdisposed is coming to a town near you!"

The cover artwork and layout for Azarath's new album "Blasphemer's Maledictions" was painted and designed by Zbigniew M. Bielak (Absu, Watain, Destroyer666, Autopsy), who comments on his impressions in this way: "A new album, a new Azarath. At any given angle - Art Nouveau. Perverse ornaments, masses of air, venomous malevolence in seemingly soothing forms... Forging these virtues into an image was indeed quite some challenge, even though some seeds of the vision were already couple years old. 'Blasphemers' Maledictions' is indeed an unexpectedly crisp waft in the steadily disappointing deathmetal milieu, alas - to anticipate teutonic translation - a WICHTIG Hour strikes!"
The fifth Azarath album will be released worldwide by Witching Hour Productions in June 2011 as exclusive digibook and limited 12' LP. The track listing and details on streaming a new song from the album are available here. More...
