"The album was produced by Seven Witches founder/lead guitarist/mainstay Jack Frost and features a gritty, hook-laden sound. Look for the band to tour the United States this summer near the release of 'Rebirth.'
"Jack Frost first broke into the scene at the age of 19 during an audition with the metal legends Helix. After moving back to his home state of New Jersey, Frost formed his first band, Frostbite, back in 1994 eventually releasing three well-regarded power metal albums and touring with everyone from Overkill to Fates Warning. Seeking a harder-edged sound, he formed Seven Witches in 1998. More...

Xtreem Music has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Benefactor Decease:
"A new band has joined the thrash legions of Xtreem Music and they're none than one of the leading acts of the 2nd generation of Greek thrash metal called Benefactor Decease. This Athenian combo was formed back in 2007 releasing a demo and a 12" mini LP in '08 followed by a split CD with Nadimac the year after. Then the band entered on hiatus between 2010-2012 after which they returned with full force with enough songs for their debut album.
"In spring 2013 the band got in touch with Xtreem Music with whom they have just signed a deal for the release of 'Anatomy of an Angel,' the band's first full length album which is currently being recorded at their own Parafiliak Studios for a tentative release after summer of the same year. The style of Benefactor Decease is a raw, fast and violent yet technical thrash metal grabbing influences from bands like Coroner, Rigor Mortis, Dark Angel, Slayer, Sadus...

Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats is now streaming the full "Mind Control" album online. Check out the entire release at Spin.com here.
"Mind Control" is set for release on May 14th via Metal Blade Records in North America. The label also comments:
"Mind Control is a concept album with a theme that makes the acts and intentions of the likes of Charles Manson and Jim Jones seem like petty crimes. What makes Mind Control scarier than most albums is that it doesn’t seem as sinister on the surface as it really is deep down, within the core of its black acid-drenched world of pain and torture.
"Imagine the original Alice Cooper band jamming in a cell with early Black Sabbath and the Stooges, whilst sitting on murder charges and you may get a glimpse into their fuzzed up world of exploding tube amps and cymbal smashing mayhem. However, this enticing act of musical manipulation is merely the icing upon a very sick cake.
"Recorded at the legendary Chapel Studios over an autumnal full moon using the finest western electrical technology, engineer Jim Spencer (Bert Jansch, Robert Wyatt) has captured perfectly the bands live sound of saturated fuzz, mind-bending riffs and 60's vocal harmonies." More...
Almost three years after the pummeling "Gutter Earth" EP was inflicted upon the masses, cold-blooded Elizabeth, New Jersey based death metal insurgents Grimus have completed their first proper full-length, "Omnicide." The band's publicist issued the following press release:
"With its members all hailing from a plethora of extreme metal acts including Iberian black metal outfit Windfaerer, Metal Blade tech/death act Allegaeon and others, the members of Grimus are united in hatred for humankind, their output surging with guttural, cutting-edge death metal prowess, with monolithic slams and swells of the most vicious kind infiltrating their uncompromising low-end attack.
"These atrocious features are grippingly captured on the quintet’s debut full-length album, Omnicide. The term literally meaning the killing of everything is a testament to man’s inherent, bloodthirsty nature and audacity to alter his surroundings, through efficient forms of destruction. Paradoxically, mankind is willfully committing suicide in its attempt to become a godlike creator. This album is a soundtrack to the decimation of all that is known, 'the age of none.' More...

The set will be released on July 12th, 2013 via Nuclear Blast. The following press release was also issued:
"In 1992 the band signed its first contract with Nuclear Blast Records and released its monumental debut 'Penetralia.' It marks the only time that the band functioned as a five-piece. This album displays a strong influence from American Death Metal. The follow-up 'Osculum Obscenum' (1993) marked another milestone in the history of crushing extreme death metal. This album is evil and dark Black/Death Metal the way it should be. When compared to other death metal albums of the same period, this absolutely kills nearly everything. Eerie guitar work, hellish screams, epic riffs..."

Imminent Sonic Destruction has checked in with the following road report while out on tour with Pain of Salvation:
"Last we spoke, NYC was in our rear view mirror and the alluring moose call of Canada was beckoning. If you've been following along, you might think we're making some of this up, but seriously you guys, there has been craziness every single day of this tour. And we wouldn't change any of it. Well, maybe one or two things.
"Crossing the border was expected to be an issue for 3 bands from 3 different countries with 2 buses and 2 trailers full of gear. Oh, and due to our loss of a driver in NYC, we didn't cross until 3:30am. However, we only ended up waiting about 30 minutes before being sent on our way to the land where everyone lives in igloos and eats only what they can kill with their bare hands. At least, that's what we thought. Turns out we had a lot to learn.
"First up was Quebec City. Right about the time we were crossing into the city, we got a call that the show was cancelled due to Daniel from PoS being very ill. While this was bad news, we knew he needed rest so that a string of shows wouldn't be cancelled. So now, what to do? We're already in Quebec City... With a night to kill. One word answered our questions and put us on the one way road to unmitigated joy and intestinal distress: POUTINE! A local pointed us to the best place to get it, so we had a great first sample. really good, you guys. We strolled around the beautiful downtown area, ended up in a little local bar to watch Montreal and Ottawa for a period, then headed towards Montreal for the next night's show. More...

While it was previously assumed that Jeff Hanneman's death last week was due to complications from his bout of necrotizing fasciitis in 2011, Slayer has now announced his passing was caused by cirrhosis of the liver. The band comments:
"We've just learned that the official cause of Jeff's death was alcohol related cirrhosis. While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent Necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being, Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life.
"Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving – he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record.
"While the details are being worked out now, Slayer wants its fans to know that there will be a celebration of Jeff Hanneman's life sometime later this month, along with Jeff's family and friends, the public will be invited to attend. More information will be posted here soon.
