Australian gothic/doom band Lycanthia is streaming the track "Forgone" from its newest album "Oligarchy," which was released a short time ago. "Oligarchy" was mastered at Fascination Street Studios by Jens Bogren. Lycanthia is arguably the longest running doom band currently active from that country, having formed in 1996. Chilean heavy metal band Inferis has signed a distribution deal with Digmetalworld Records for the reissue of its 2010 debut album "When Men Collide: Encounter Of The Races", previously only available on HitMan Records in Japan. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Black Sun Studios by Elias Martinez in Viña Del Mar, Chile. The band has also released music videos for the songs "Burning" and "Think About it," supporting the album. Stream the release in its entirety over at Digmetalworld. Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of Sweden's Miasmal. According to a press release, the Gothenburg-based act caught Century Media's attention with the band's "uncompromising way of playing real, no-bullshit death metal. Theeir DIY attitude and previous releases (a demo, a 7" EP, and one studio album) have also gained them a constantly growing fan-base."
Philipp Schulte, A&R at Century Media Records, comments: "We are very happy about the signing of Miasmal. The current death metal underground scene is offering many excellent new and promising bands, but only a few have that certain edge that makes you feel there is much more to come. It's the combination of their music, style and attitude that makes Miasmal simply outstanding. When I listened to tracks like 'Kallocain', 'Toxic Breed' or the epic 'Chronicles' for the first time, I felt this band has a spirit most other bands are lacking."
Pontus Redig, guitarist and vocalist in Miasmal, comments: "We are happy to announce that we just signed a deal with Century Media! As fans of many of the label's releases and bands, we feel that we are in good company. The new cooperation offers lots of opportunities for the making of our next record which is something we are very excited about. We've just begun the writing process and plan to head to the studio during the winter to immortalize our 2nd album and Century Media debut." More...

Cleveland hardcore act Ringworm has released a new music video for “Used Up, Spit Out” exclusively through Metal Sucks. The video, taken from the "Scars" album, can be viewed at this location.
Vocalist Human Furnace commented, “We had this great opportunity to use this huge, open, dirty space and pretty much had a skeleton crew to do the video with 2 cameras and a giant crane. Good times! Every video we do I end up completely filthy afterwards. Guess that's my thing, plus the rest of the band got to hurl big rocks and clumps of dirt at the back of my head for a few minutes, so I'm sure they enjoyed that. We are really happy with the way things turned out. Don Tyler and the rest of the guys did a great job on short notice and with a shoestring budget. This is just a warm-up video, we got something really awesome planned for the next one no doubt.”
Ringworm will be hitting the road on May 29th, 2012 with support from Everything Went Black. Dates are as follows: More...
Tesseract has just made "Dream Brother" available as a stream via Metal Hammer UK's website, so head over here to check out this very special cover of the song.
Amos Williams (bass) comments: "We decided to cover 'Dream Brother' (originally by Jeff Buckley) for an acoustic session in New York. Myself and Acle spent ages looking at different tracks. I think we entertained 'Tear Drop' by Massive Attack, 'Thin Air' by Anathema, and many more. But 'Dream Brother' just fits Tesseract very well. Plus it is one of our collective favourite tracks. It's always a risk working with a track that you love, but we feel we did it justice. It's a great showcase for the musicianship in Tesseract, and the deep emotive power that Elliot has added to the band since he joined."
"Dream Brother" will be out on the "Perspective" EP that is set for a North American release of May 22nd and a European release of May 21st. The five song digital only EP features "Eden 2.0," acoustic versions of three tracks ["Perfection (acoustic)," "April (acoustic)," "Origin (acoustic)," from the band's debut album, "One," plus the aforementioned cover of Jeff Buckley's classic, "Dream Brother." As a bonus, iTunes will offer instrumentals of all the songs on the EP.

Ex Nomine: Guitar, vocals

The brand new, self-titled album from Swedish act Necrovation, will be released June 26th in Europe and August 14th in the U.S. on Agonia Records. The following press release was issued about the album:
"The successor to the debut offering Breed Deadness Blood from 2008 marks a swift improvement over the band's previous raw death metal style, with more classical and heavy metal influences but still with the classic death metal elements that have been the band's trademark since the beginning. The new album is strongly recommended for those who once liked Metallica, early Entombed, the idea of Morbid Angel or the rawness of Repugnant combined with the obscurity of Kaamos.
"Necrovation has been mixed and produced by Gustav Burn along with the band members and mastered in Necromorbus Studios (Watain, Destroyer 666) in Stockholm, Sweden.
"The release will be available as a standard, practical CD, limited 12” gatefold heavy vinyl with 8 pages booklet (first 100 copies of the vinyl on a heavy navy blue vinyl with white haze) and digital download." More...
