Ramming Speed Posts New Track Online

A lyric video for “Grinding Dissent,” a new song by Boston thrashers Ramming Speed, can be seen below.

“Grinding Dissent” is a track from Ramming Speed’s Kurt Ballou-tracked Prosthetic debut, “Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die,” due out June 25 on CD, LP, cassette and digital download. The band commented on the track:

"Grinding Dissent is largely about America’s facade of righteousness and freedom. A government that is ‘for the people’ may or may not have originally been the goal, but in this day and age, it’s obvious that protest and free speech aren’t welcome. Our police departments have military-grade weapons turned on civilians to keep us quiet while politicians smile and shake hands behind closed doors. Musically. the song starts off with punishing D-beat and ends with Ferrari-sized, Piña Colada-chugging twin guitar riffage! Put this shit on 11, crack a beer and scream at the sun.”

Sofy Major Streams New Song

In preparation for the disbursement of new LP "Idolize," today French act Sofy Major proudly offers another new single from the album. Stream “Steven The Slow” through Invisible Oranges here or in the player below. The following press release was also issued about the band:

"Just after Sofy Major flew into Brooklyn in October 2012 to record Idolize at Translator Audio with producer Andrew Schneider (Unsane, Keelhaul, Cave In), Hurricane Sandy waged war on the region, the massive storm surge the bitch of a storm brought with her wiped out the entire studio and all of the band’s gear.

"The trio hooked up with cohort and labelmate Dave Curran (Unsane, Pigs), who helped Schneider and the band relocate to Brooklyn’s Seaside Lounge and Spaceman Sound studios and complete the recording sessions Sandy attempted to thwart.

"Invisible Oranges and Brooklyn Vegan are now hosting an exclusive stream of the album’s third track. The pummeling metallic swank of 'Steven The Slow' showcases the dredging, angular, possibly drugged slow-paced ramble Sofy Major has so masterfully crafted, the track also featuring guest vocals from their bro Dave Curran. Additionally, a documentary on Sofy Major’s unique and insane two months dealing with Sandy, the recording and the ensuing tour, entitled Buckets, Curtains And More Noise, was directed and produced by Riot House Production, and is pending release in June. Lalu Announces "Atomic Ark" Release

Progressive metal linchpin Sensory Records is proud to announce the signing of Lalu, the project under the direction of French composer Vivien Lalu. The following press release was issued about the band:

"Born of Noelle and Michel Lalu, musicians from the ‘70s French progressive act Polene, Vivien Lalu has released a surplus of recordings through an array of different bands and projects since 1997, as the keyboard player for underground black/doom band Time For A Change. At the turn of the millennium Lalu played keys for two underground progressive metal bands from Paris, Sad Warden and then Mind's Orchard, and in 2002 was hired by Hubi Meisel (ex-Dreamscape vocalist) to compose and record the keys for his solo album EmOcean, the following year doing the same for Meisel’s sophomore album Kailash, both of which were released by Lion Music.

"It was at this time Vivien Lalu begins recruiting his own associates from major prog and metal bands -- some of which he shares time composing music alongside in progressive metal act Shadrane -- and forms his own solo project, LALU. The first full-length Oniric Metal was released on Lion Music in 2005 and began an entirely new chapter for this composer and his insatiable need to create mind-expanding, cinematic music.

"These accomplishments helped Lalu to begin securing score and soundtrack work for film and television; over the last few years he’s written many cues for the orchestral soundtrack for the Warner Bros movie Seuls Two, for the show Science X made in association with Lucasfilm Ltd. Additionally he joined the production team behind Laszlo Jones in order to assist the recordings and production of Banana Nation (Universal Music Group). He’s composed many soundtracks for French television, music and sound effects for Neko Entertainment, worked as a sound designer for Ubisoft Entertainment and much more. More...

After The Burial Releases New EP

After The Burial's new EP, "This Life Is All We Have," is available now on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon MP3 . This three-song release shows the band revamping very early tracks with new vocals from current vocalist Anthony Notarmaso.

This special digital EP was produced, engineered and mixed by renowned producer Terry Date alongside guitarists Justin Lowe and Trent Hafdahl. Lowe states:

"I'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who has checked out the streams or even picked up a copy of this new EP. We had always toyed around with the idea of revisiting some of these old jams, but it hadn't really made sense to us yet. However, after talking about it more and more, we realized these are songs we will always play live. Ultimately, we wanted to give you the best representation of what to expect on stage every night, so we decided to go in and recreate these songs for you again from the ground up. When it came to the production, it was an absolute pleasure and honor for us to have the opportunity to work together with Terry Date, which was something we were all very, very excited about.

"Right now we are currently right in the middle of the tracking process of our new album. We're almost finished with the guitars, with just a couple tracks to go. When we track the guitars for our albums we like to take our time getting the good takes, not relying on too much editing. There also usually tends to be changes being made along the way, with new ideas being born within the tracking process.

"If I had to describe the sound of the new material in one shot, it wouldn't be easy. We've dedicated a lot of time working on these songs to make sure that you are hearing something fresh and new. Something that makes you feel good when you hear it. There's some 6,7 and 8 string work in there and also a new lower tuning in C#. It's hard to describe the sound unless you hear it. It's almost 'mechanical' and very percussive. We love trying all sorts of new ideas, sounds, and pushing boundaries of new musical territory that will help set us apart from the rest. We've never been afraid to try anything; we want to keep you on your toes."

It has truly been an honour to play alongside such talented musicians over the last two years and I look forward to hearing all the new material which will be released in the future.

Imminent Sonic Destruction Issues Road Report

Imminent Sonic Destruction is hitting the road with Pain of Salvation, and the band has now checked in with the following road report:

"Well well well... Here we are, in Virginia. We had a couple days before we had to play, so it's all about relaxing and driving, while we had the chance. Both of which are very nice. Beautiful scenery, and being able to stop for a band cookout was great. I have to say, the people we've run into at these truck stops so far have been very nice. Southern hospitality is alive and well, I'm happy to report. Dental hygiene, however, is apparently on life support. But I digress.

"When we stopped to fix our flat tire, a truck stop employee (Timothy, who sounded EXACTLY like Gomer Pyle) treated us very well, and creeped us out at the same time. Once we got up, had an authentic down home breakfast at Waffle House (had to do it once... Seriously. ONCE), and got back on the road, we were feeling much better. The sun was back out, and the drive was beautiful. We headed for a rest stop to set up and enjoy the aforementioned cookout, and it was then that I realized we are having a pretty damn awesome time. This isn't bad. The sleeping arrangements and showers are sketchy, but still... TOUR. More...
