French act Reverence has issued the following announcement about working on new material:
"When the composition of Inactive Theocracy has been completed (February of 2009), we thought at first working on a dark and slow album ... (may be in a Chamber of Divine Elaboration way...). Nowadays, the result is totally different: The new tracks are brutal, tortured, violent ... Our conclusion: our path continued widening in the violence and experimentation, in ways we have not yet explored. Currently, we are working the visual, theme and lyrics of this album."
In the mean time you can hear current Reverence tracks through the band's MySpace page.
Brazil's Shadowside has uploaded a music video for the song "Hideaway" from the "Dare to Dream" album, which can be viewed after the jump. The album was produced and mixed by Dave Schiffman and Howie Weinberg. The video, which was directed, produced, and edited by Luiz Felipe Amorim, took place in an abandoned garage in their hometown Santos, Brazil. It features the band performing as well as lead singer Dani Nolden playing the main character. The band issued the following statement about the video and recruiting a new bassist:
"The song talks about people who are misunderstood, mistreated and put down by society for their whole lives, for the sole reason of being different and unusual. In this case, we portrayed it on a more personal level and showed a teenage girl accused by her mother of painting masks to disrespect her, to be aggressive, while all she wants is to express herself and ends up hiding who she really is. Also the band officially announces new bass player Ricardo Piccoli, who has been playing for the past few concerts. As well as an experient musician, Piccoli is also a producer."
Piccoli commented: "It was a pleasant surprise when I received the band's invitation and it's a huge pleasure to be part of the Shadowside family. I hadn't been as active as a musician, I was mostly producing. It feels great to be back on stage with these guys." More...

Los Angeles act Fallen Figure has issued the following update about recruiting a new bassist and drummer:
"As some of you may noticed at our recent shows, things are looking a little different. For one, we are now a full five piece band and sounding thicker and sexier then ever thanks to the addition of ex-Aybsmal Dawn bass player Carlos Arriola. You also may have noticed that Gabe turned white, don't be alarmed...I'm just making a tasteless race joke. But in all seriousness, we're sad to inform you that Gabe, one of our best friends and one of the sickest drummers that we've ever had the privilege of playing with is no longer a part of Fallen Figure. We shared some fucking awesome times with him in never ending van rides filled with his giggles and snores. We will miss you bro! In the end, Gabe wound up being bound to a job in Los Angeles which kept him from being able to commit himself fully to this band and achieving the collective dream that we set out to live.
"We want to be on the road constantly, and he just couldn't position himself to do that with us. Gabe will still be around the area tearing shit up with his new band Euphoric Defilement and doing session work for anybody willing. With that being said, we'd like to announce the addition of our new drummer Nick Ursich. He's a retardedly talented drummer that has already brought in a whole new vibe and element to our existing songs and live shows. We can't wait to see what our new material will morph into with these two new ingredients added to the mix.
"What the future holds, no one knows. But what is certain is that we will be here, writing music, then recording that music, and then sitting in a dirty van for hours upon hours to play that music for you! So be a pal, come to a show and check out our set, some merch, have fun and make new friends, then drive home, tell all your old friends about us, go to sleep, wake up, take a morning dump, and live the rest of your lives. We will have more updates soon, so stay posted!"
