Chimaira has posted the following statement online in response to keyboardist Chris Spicuzza leaving the band:
"As we know this news sucks… hopefully this cheers you up a little.
"There are definitely samples, keys, electronics, and all sorts of other wizardry on this record. we’ve spent the past 12 years creating the atmospheric side of chimaira, and we can’t imagine listening to us without those cool bits either. each album brought new noises and a vibe to accompany that particular record. nothing has changed in that regard. this has always been an evolution. while it may seem like the end of days, we see this as another chapter. chimaira developed our sound together with chris, and although he is gone, his spirit, class, and the foundation he helped lay, will always remain.
"You know us. we don’t drive our cars looking through the rearview mirror. never have, never will. keep the glasses half full, amigos. it makes for a much more interesting ride….and we’re just getting started. yes, rob is still in Chimaira. Six Feet Under is a side project. Maynard James Keenan sings for 3 bands. Rob plays guitar for 3. It’s all gravy. Thanks for your continuous support."

Vocalist/guitarist TJ Cowgill commented on the new album: "Thematically, 'The Cold Testament' will be a little looser than 'Horoskopus,' but there is still an underlying current to both the sound of the album and lyrically. This will in my opinion be our strongest, most haunting offering, closing another chapter in the Book of Black Earth."

Sweden's Grave has posted a new tour blog online. An excerpt from the road report follows:
"What a crazy party it was yesterday in Demark, Copenhagen! Since we´ll have a few days off pretty much everybody decided to go all in on this party. Ola got a nice birthday cake from the Obituary's - a pigs head with the Danish flag stuffed in its nose and some black candles around the whole creation.
"Two Swedish friends from Finspång also came to hang out with us in Copenhagen. Dennis, who's Mika's personal driver and Robert Karlsson (Facebreaker, Scar Symmetry, Tormented ex. Edge of Sanity) who made a stage dive that nearly cost him his life during our set. After our gig at The Rock there was an after party for the Dansish tattoo convention and apparently all the best tattoo artists in the world were there. It was fun to just sit and drink beer and watch all the freaks rockin on the dancefloor.
"Last Friday we ripped up Oldenburg, Germany and on Saturday we did the same in Aarhus, Demark. It was a festival in Aarhus, also playing were Hail of Bullets, Artillery etc. During the day Trevor from Obituary brought out the grill he had bought the other day, he had also got stakes and meat for everybody on the tour. Terry spiced it up with his own barbaque sauce, 'T-Bone’s Famous.' It was awesome and delicious, he masters the grill just as he masters heavy riffs. We already looking forward to the next time the grill will be brought out."

Alex Oden of Mortiferous Scorn has checked in with the following update about re-releasing the band's debut album:
“I was checking out Mortiferous Scorn’s Myspace page one day, listening to the music files and making sure they were all still playing without any glitches. When I went from anything off of the albums 'Schizophrenic Revelations' or 'The Perfect Impurity' to 'Rotting' I noticed a huge difference in the quality of the music. 'Rotting' just didn’t fit in and I didn’t feel the album represented Mortiferous Scorn’s music in a good way.
"My biggest fear was that a new fan or someone looking for new music would get to the Mortiferous Scorn Myspace page and choose a song from 'Rotting' and be instantly uninterested due to the low sound quality. 'Rotting' was the first album I recorded and needless to say it sounds pretty raw. The past year a lot of people online have been requesting the album so I am seriously considering re-releasing it.
"I might clean the album up a bit with some EQ, but other than that it will be the original brutal ten song beast. It will definitely be a listen at your own risk album for fans of ‘80’s style underground death metal. We will keep you updated in the coming months on any new info and a possible re-release date for Mortiferous Scorn’s debut album 'Rotting.'"

The band offered the following comments on the album:
"The mixes are finished, song order established… Still working on the artwork and such but at this point we are looking at a September release… We're really psyched with the record! Album title came down to 'React' or 'The Ghost you Gave to Me'… after a little research we're going with the latter. As THE most difficult band to search out on the internet we decided that we're better off with an Album title that will actually come up in the search engines!"

After a successful world tour with more than 100 concerts all over the globe, in support of the band's latest release "Tinnitus Sanctus" in 2008, Edguy has entered the studio to record a new album. Still under the influence of the arena tour as special guests of the Scorpions and the latest Avantasia world tour (featuring Tobias Sammet and Felix Bohnke), Edguy feels it's about time to squeeze the band's energy on tape in a recording studio again. This time the band has chosen the famous Peppermint-Park in Hannover (Scorpions, Phil Collins), according to the band "a recording temple with a tremendously great sounding room."
Tobias Sammet (also Avantasia) comments: "We have chosen the Peppermint Park to record the basics there. I had done a few little bits and pieces for Avantasia there, but it's so great to record drums and stuff like Hammond B3 with a big bad fat mean Leslie there. The room is big and the sound is mean! We were always striving for a powerful but natural sound. I guess we had a good sound recently, but I think there is always room to improve. The more I listen to what's going on in the Heavy Metal world these days, the more I long for drums that sound like drums. I want them to sound powerful without sounding like Atari. Sascha and I came to the conclusion that we have to start from scratch and do things the way they have to be done, not the fashionable way. I don't want a distorted master-copy, just so it is loud enough on an iPhone or on PC-speakers.
"If you talk to your most fancy producer he will say something like: 'Well, it's the sign of the times, you have to be able to compete in the loudness war…' What the fuck?! If I want it to be loud I turn up the stereo. I want dynamics, room, a real big sound, not that distorted trendy compression. Why don't we all move back a little and record great sounding music, not loud sounding music? Do a Google search for 'loudness war' and you'll see what I mean. Whatever, the new songs sound great, we have thirteen of them, and we'll pick maybe ten and put them on the album. We have anthemic melodies, although it's not kitsch. When you record anthemic music, you tend to be dangerously close to kitsch, it's a fine line and I think we balance on that fine line pretty well. To cut a long story a little insignificantly shorter: I just think it is great, and that's what counts. Real music, you know? We'll keep you informed, if you want it or not!"
Hard rock legends Uriah Heep have posted their new music video online for the song, "Nail On The Head." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's latest studio album, "Into The Wild," which will be released through Frontiers Records on April 15th in Europe, with a North American release of May 3rd to follow.
