Dark Funeral has issued the following update:
"I guess it's about time to let you guys know what's going on here. Well, we are currently working on material for a new full-length album. We're in the very early stages of the writing process though. There's still a lot of work before we're ready to hit the studio, but we're on the right course at least!
"Plan is, however, to be ready to record a new album sometime during 2008, with a possible early 2009 release (but it all depends on when we're ready to record and so on, of course). We will keep you posted on the writing progress and what kind of time plan we'll put up for the new album.
"We have also renewed our contract with Regain Records. So we will be releasing the next album through them too.
"In the meantime, and during the wait for our new studio album, I'd suggest that you check out two killer DVDs that we have released, "Attera Orbis Terrarum" parts 1 & 2 (part two will be released on May 22). Also, keep your eyes open for the date when we'll launch our webstore 'DIABOLISWEAR!'"

Fear Factory and Ascension Of The Watchers frontman Burton C. Bell speaks about involvement in Ministry's latest album "The Last Sucker" and in the upcoming covers collection "Cover Up":
'It was last January , I was talking to a friend, and my friend goes, 'Yeah, MINISTRY is in the studio recording their last record." I was like, 'Their last record?' 'Yeah, it's their very last record.' 'Really?!' And I was thinking to myself, 'Man, if I want to get involved with this, this is the time.' So what did I do? The very next day I called up Al [Jourgensen, MINISTRY mainman]. I was like, 'Al, this is Burton. I met you (at your last New York City show), I know you're doing your last record. I would love to offer my services. I'm there, if you want me I'm there.' He called me like a week later, 'We want you on our record. Come on down.' So he flew me down. I was down there for two weeks. We did 'End Of Days', 'Die In A Crash'. I did another song, it's not on the record, I don't know what happened to it. I started doing those cover songs. It was just like, 'Yeah, this is cool.'"

States lead singer Roger Miret: “This is a very personal letter for my family acknowledging the love, respect, and honor we hold for New York Hardcore and our families today, tomorrow, and forever!”
Director/Producer Ian McFarland shares, “When it comes down to it, [co-director] Mike [Pecci] and I don’t pump out videos at the same rate that other directors do, and it is because we just don’t want to put out crap. We take pride in every video we do and love to do videos that not only the bands are proud of, but that we are proud of as well.”
AGNOSTIC FRONT leaves the U.S. tomorrow for the launch of their European tour in The Netherlands.
North Carolina thrashers Sanctity, who recently lost their front man Jared MacEachern and bassist Derek Anderson, have now lost their record deal. Now that Roadrunner Records has let them go, they're in the process of recording some demos with the hope of finding a new label.

Long-running Seattle metallers METAL CHURCH have issued the following update:
"After an overwhelming response to the album cover art [contest] for our new release, we have finally decided on a wining cover. The artist's name is Rainer Kalwitz from Germany who is amazingly talented."
"Due to so many talented entries, we have decided to incorporate several of the other submissions for the inner sleeve of the CD. This has really shown us what dedicated fans we have that truly understand our music and we are so fortunate to have the best fans in the world. We raise the horns to you, the Congregation!"
"We would also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your hard work, and for all of you that gave your opinions on the art we put up on our MySpace page. The ones on the MySpace page are only a fraction of the entries we received so you can imagine the difficult decisions we were faced with when choosing the winner." More...
IRON MAIDEN's official web site has been updated with the following message:
"The IRON MAIDEN shows in Western Canada have now sold every available ticket in each market in just four days. The band encourages any non-ticket holders to check back in a couple weeks and just before the show as production releases may become available when the stage has been set in each arena, check with your local box office or www.ironmaiden.com for further updates. Even if some tickets may have to be stamped with a slightly restricted side view, fans will still be able to experience the incredible communal atmosphere of a MAIDEN concert."
Commented vocalist Bruce Dickinson: "We are truly overwhelmed by this response, especially as some of these cities we haven't played in 20 years!! Being Brits we are always very comfortable with Canadians and it will be a great pleasure to get back on the prairies again. It was always a LOUD response there! We look forward to this immensely and hope to give you all a show to remember."
Atlanta's hardcore band THE CHARIOT (Solid State Records) is premiering its new video for the song "They Drew Their Swords" exclusively on woozyfly.com. For one day only, Woozyfly.com will feature THE CHARIOT's masterfully constructed clip on the main page for 24 hours of visual and auditory overload. Directed by none other than vocalist Josh Scogin himself, this performance-based video with wild visual effects is not for the faint at heart.
Scogin explains: "I wanted it to be really out there, with no boundaries or real structure. We really wanted it to show how chaotic the music was, and made that the main focus, even more than the video itself. I'd say the random segments are the circus sideshow, but more realistic. Anything I wanted to shoot I did and if it worked I kept it."
THE CHARIOT is currently out on the road with ALESANA, closing out an impressive series of tours in support of the band's new CD, entitled "The Fiancée". Next stop for THE CHARIOT is a stint at Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey on May 3.

"Good evening all! It’s been a productive week at Trauma. Following some much-needed gear and software upgrades, the vox tracking is underway along with some other uncompromising insanity. We are very excited to be working with the gentlemen (and I use that term loosely) at Clandestine Music, who will be handling the business side of things. There will also be some very talented guests lending their skills to this mess. God knows why they would want to work with us, but we’re not complaining. "

You can watch the interview online here or below (after the jump).

The Inferno programme will include interviews with 1349, Behemoth, Den Saakaldte, Keep of kalessin, King (Gorgoroth, Sahg), Shining, Skitliv, and loads more interesting interviews and bits and pieces. PAIN has checked in from the NIGHTWISH tour with the following update:
"We left Manchester early this day off to travel to the English border and take the underground train back to the European continent. When we got to the border we got a phone call from Pekka, one of Nightwish truck drivers. He told us that he was two hours north of London and that a wheel axle had broke on his 35 ton truck. He noticed it because one of the wheels exploded from the heat generated from the fire that started and jeopardised the whole truckload. Since we were closest we canceled our train and went back to London to help Pekka reload the whole trailer into a new one he managed to find. It's a good thing this happened on a day off, otherwise something else would. We only hope we'll be in time in Paris tomorrow.
Otherwise, the show in Manchester yesterday was awesome; 3,400 people can't be wrong. Tomorrow we'll have our catering back. That means no more starving.
Everything taste better with fire in your mouth!" More...
