Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has cancelled a number of dates on his previously announced "Alone I Play" European tour in May/June, reportedly due to "personal reasons." Cancelled shows include those in Stockholm (Sweden), Belgium, France, and most of the UK leg of the tour, which was scheduled to kick off late May.
The reunited STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will be the featured musical guests on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on the Thursday, May 1 episode (which will actually air the morning of May 2 beginning at 12:05 a.m.).
According to Billboard.com, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS will next week announce plans for a summer tour of more than 50 amphitheaters.
The group has already confirmed a handful of festival dates, beginning with the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 17-18.
Further details about STP's tour will be announced during an April 7 news conference at the Harry Houdini Estate in Los Angeles. It is still unclear whether the band will record new material.
Although STONE TEMPLE PILOTS broke up in 2002 under less than friendly circumstances, both singer Scott Weiland — who just parted ways with VELVET REVOLVER following a very public ar of words — and guitarist Dean DeLeo have said that the band members are all on good terms now. Weiland even told The Pulse of Radio he could envision making another STP album. "We were never a band that felt like we needed to lean too hard onto our muscle," he said. "We always felt like we had enough beauty and enough finesse in our music, you know, while we were together, that could carry us into a long career. So for us to make a record at an older age doesn't seem like a stretch, you know, 'cause we were never all about brawn."
The last STP album, "Shangri-La-Dee-Da", came out in 2001. The band's initial success in the early and mid-'90s was derailed in the latter part of the decade by Weiland's well-documented drug problems and arrests.
Weiland, who recently spent time in rehab at an undisclosed location, has struggled with substance abuse problems for more than a decade, although he has reportedly been clean for nearly four years until now. Questions about his condition flared a few weeks ago when he missed a VELVET REVOLVER performance at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, claiming transportation problems.
CI Records has announced the latest addition to the family in the form of Lancaster, PA's own Circus Circus.
Circus Circus frenetic sonic chaos - the product of guitarists Jason Terry and Justin Smith, vocalist Mike Williams, bassist Matt Glassmyer and drummer Evan Dyer - bucks like a wild, screaming animal. It's a sound that's hard to put one's finger on as it unfolds around you, but one that has drawn similarities to bands such as Fall Of Troy, The Blood Brothers and Every Time I Die. To oversimplify things - It's a sound that's too metal to be punk, but too punk to be metal.
The band will display this aural evasiveness when their debut full-length, "Brooklyn Nightlife," hits stores July 15th from CI Records.
"We feel like we achieved our goals with this record," says Williams of Nightlife. "We've put together a really solid album that shows who we are as a band. Now, for the foreseeable future, we'll spend our time on the road bringing those songs to people's ears."
Since solidifying in early 2006, Circus Circus have displayed the hardworking attitude sadly lacking in most young bands these days. Their band's self-released EP, "Hut Hut Hike," turned heads in 2007 and garnered the band "featured artist" status on Purevolume.com. Honing their chops on the road, the band has since toured constantly, compiling an impressive resume in the process. Reading through the ranks of artists Circus Circus has shared the stage with is like reading a who's who list of some of the underground's most popular bands - a register that includes the likes of Chiodos, Gym Class Heroes, Every Time I Die, The Bled, The Devil Wears Prada, Fall of Troy and August Burns Red.
Circus Circus will be on tour in support of "Brooklyn Nightlife" all summer long.
Iscariot has been rejoined by original singer, Derrick Harding. Here's a statement from the band:
"As many of you suspected, Derrick Harding is once again the frontman for Iscariot. Derrick is our original singer, and the perfect, and only, fit for the band. So, for those of your keeping count, the 4 original members are still in the band. Ian has since moved on, but Brad as been a huge asset from the first day he joined. I think it's safe to say that things have worked out for the best for all involved parties. Derrick stepping away from the band for a while allowed everybody to take a step back and reevaluate their situation, and it was for the better. Brandon is doing well with Veil of Maya, so that seems to have worked out for the best for him as well.
"We've just uploaded 3 new songs. We’d like to thank the Nook Studio for all their efforts to make this sound awesome. We HIGHLY recommend them, and I think you'll agree that their production is awesome. And yes, that is Mook on backing vocals in Defilement of the Throne. If you like these songs, we encourage you to share them with your friends. Put them up on your page, make a bulletin, whatever. If you like it, share it."
Milwaukee's Since By Man has announced their final show. Guitarist Brad Clifford recently checked in with the following:
"In the last year and half, none of us have ever really officially said that we broke up. Schedules just got busy and the time to move on and start the next proverbial chapter or whatever you want to call it was there. We're still great friends, and the band was and still is something incredibly important to all of us.
"After a year and a half of waiting, we're finally playing one last show to properly put the last nail in the Since By Man coffin. It's absurdly fucking busy, but we're all finally able to get together on April 26th in Milwaukee, WI to get down one last time and give a proper finale to the band after a decade of broken equipment, sweating bodies, bleeding heads, the times of our lives... and do it with our greatest friends in tow. Come get buck."
Here are the show details:
Saturday, April 26th
Milwaukee, WI @ the Bayview Post
Since By Man
Seven Days of Samsara
Call Me Lightning
Will Haven has issued a minor update regarding touring activity and new material. Here's a word from the band:
"We all have been taking care of some personal business since we have been home from tour, but we also have been working on a lot of new material as well. So things are going really well, it looks like we will have an active summer. While we are writing, we are planning hitting some places we haven't been to in a while, also working on a headlining full European tour for those who have been asking about that. More details will follow soon. The shows are in the process of being booked, it looks like tickets will go on sale very soon as well for that."
"In the meantime we are playing a show with our friends Today Is The Day, they are coming through town April 15th. So we will be opening for them which we are excited about, we haven't played with them in about 12 years. The show will be at The Blue Lamp located at the corner of Alhambra and N St. in downtown Sacramento. If all goes well we will be doing a new song as well.
"As for the Will Haven tour DVD, that is being edited again. We are going to post it for free on You Tube very shortly."

Although not many details have been revealed, SANCTITY have apparantly parted ways with singer Jared MacEachern. The following is their latest update:
"OK guys, do not reply to this unless you want an audition. If you do have any questions write us a 'new' message. As most of you have figured out, YES, Jared has left the band. He recently had a daughter and decided to pursue a family life. We will be holding auditions. This goes to any one who wants to try out, if you do not live in our area you will have to pay for your own traveling cost, we will consider this as a dedication to the cause and keep that in mind when making the cuts. We will have a new song for you to write your own style and lyrics to, as well as an audition of both 'Beneath The Machine' and 'Zeppo'. If you are just a screamer then do not reply to this as we are looking for a singer. Thanks everyone who have written us so far, we have had 500 emails so we appreciate it."
Jeremy and Zeff

BATTLELORE are currently in the studio working on their new album, which is currently using the working title The Last Alliance. Guitarist/founder Jyri Vahvanen has issued the following update:
"Yesterday we finished all the drummings for eleven songs. Henri’s playing was quite impressive (as always) and we didn’t face any bigger problems than some broken cymbals. All the new drum arrangements that we made worked very well and made the songs more groovy and bombastic.
Today we started to build up one helluva’ killing guitar sound and it took almost the whole day. The foundation for the sound is Peavey 5150 and 6505+ heads with Mesa Boogie and Marshall cabinets. Also a pile of mysterious little stomp boxes and rack effects with more mystical set ups will lead us right to the source of guitar- sound-heaven. At least we hope so :)
Now it is weekend coming so we hard working musicians have to have our well earned rest and drink a few sauna-beers for the succesful first week in studio!"
Song titles set to be on the album include 'The Last Alliance', 'Exile The Daystar', 'Daughter Of The Sun', 'Third Immortal' and 'Voice Of The Fallen'.
