Supernatural Cat will set the self-titled album from Zolle loose on May 13th, 2013. In celebration of the pending release, a new track from the album is now available for streaming.
Listen to "Trakthor" at ThisIsNotAScene.com or through the player below. The following press release was also issued about hte band:
"Blazing out of the backwoods of Bruzzelle, Italy, born in homage to plow and harvest -- harvesting riffs, plowing grappa -- the Zolle duo will release their belligerently unhinged full-length debut of rural rampage in plenty of time for tomato season.
"With only two members, somehow the magical Zolle still features members of Zu, Morkobot, OvO, One Dimensional Man and more. The bandits’ self-titled album stumbles triumphantly through inebriated off-kilter riff marches, schizokiller percussive thunder, disharmony and distressed builds abound, the pummeling concoction void of a goddamn human voice for its duration.
"There’s nowhere better on the near-half-hour colostomy of Zolle to let you all know where we’re coming from than just hitting play on this thing. So, here is the album-opening tune which the band would like to inform you is called 'Trakthor,' except they’re an instrumental band, making it impossible to actually tell you. But the word 'Trakthor' only translates from Italian to English as, 'Trakthor,' so there’s no harm done.
"Formed by Marcello Lan (Morkobot), who lays down the meaty riffs, and counterpart Stefano who beefs things up on drums and xylophone, Zolle commenced work on their debut album throughout the summer of 2012, and in just two months they had the music ready to commit to tape. Recorded in September of the same year by Michelangelo Roberti at Mizkey Studio (Morkobot) and mastered by Giovanni Versari (Zu, Morkobot, OvO, One Dimensional Man), performed almost entirely live, the drums are of considerable proportion and made of copper and the amplifier an old digital model of the ’50s which makes for a mammoth sound.
"In addition, Urlo (Ufomammut/Supernatural Cat) and Roberto Rizzo (Quasiviri/Runi) make guest infiltrations bearing drunken gifts of synth throughout the duration of Zolle’s ruckus." More...
Out now through Season of Mist, German black metal outfit Imperium Dekadenz's fourth and latest full-length album is "Meadows of Nostalgia," which can be ordered right here.
To let fans in on how this release came together and how the album compares to previous offerings, Imperium Dekadenz vocalist/guitarist Horaz got in touch with us for a brief interview. "We had the goal to improve the sound but also doing a step back to a more old school style," he comments while discussing the recording process, going on to say "It is harsher, wider, and more powerful. As nostalgia is the important factor on this album we wanted to sound epic but also rough and rusty."
Check out what Horaz had to say in the interview below regarding the album's artwork and a call for fans to put together lyric videos for the release. More...
"Alone In The Grave," the impending debut 12” from Olympia, Washington-based death metal horde Bone Sickness is nearing release, with local operation 20 Buck Spin prepped to unleash the beast on 12” vinyl and via download on April 30th.
Today, Pitchfork reaches into the tombs, pulling forth the rot of "Alone In The Grave" opening track “Submit To Decay” at this location. The following press release was issued about the album:
"A putrid album guaranteed to dampen the renewing cycle of life this Spring season, Alone In The Grave has already set Bone Sickness apart from the pack through advance coverage of the album. The young members have tagged and bagged some of the most legit, goresoaked American death metal of our times, infiltrating their brutal old-school songs with surges of Repulsion, Autopsy, Infest and more punk/grind-influenced acts than the legions of clones stripping their riffs from Gothenburg’s templates.
"Alone In The Grave aborts seven tracks in twenty minutes, the album housed in ghastly, unbelievably-detailed cover art executed by Chips & Beer Mag’s in-house illustrator Hand Of Beaver."
Bone Sickness will storm Seattle supporting Absu on April 25th, and is currently scheming on Summer tour plans.

Following a tumultuous several months of hardships and hard work, once again restructuring the band for the second time in a year, NYC’s Thinning the Herd this week confirms the details of the band’s pending second full-length, "Freedom From The Known."
Founding vocalist/guitarist Gavin Spielman had replaced the crew on TTH’s 2011-released debut full-length, "Oceans Rise," recruiting a new rhythm section in 2012 with bassist Wes Edmonds and drummer Rick Cimato (ex-Locked In A Vacancy).
The lineup honed the newest songs, and shipped out to Chicago last Summer to record the sophomore album "Freedom From The Known" at Electrical Audio Studios with studio guru Steven Albini. The trio filmed a new video for the album, and as the band was preparing to release new material, Rick Cimato was tragically killed in a head-on collision over the 2012 holiday season. More...
Finland's dynamic death metal outfit (Psychoparalysis) has announce debut album "Human Disposition" will be released on April 25th by BWK Records. The following press release was issued about (Psychoparalysis):
"The band's music, dynamic death metal, is a unique mixture of crushing riffs, enchanting melodies and pure death metal groove. The music derives from personal feelings and inspirations while bands like Death and Bolt Thrower echo in the depths of the mind. The outcome has been often compared to such bands as early Amorphis and Edge of Sanity.
"(Psychoparalysis) was founded by Anssi Kantola at the end of 2009 as he had come up with songs which didn't fit his other band. As the new material seemed strong but different, and making compromises was not a choice, a new band was born. The new line-up originated in no time when Jani Partanen and Otto Trygg joined immediately and after about two months Mika Sallamaa took over the drummer's throne.
"By the year 2013 (Psychoparalysis) have played about 25 shows in Finland and released 3 demos. The release of the first full length album marks a milestone for the band being their best work in terms of songwriting, performance, production and general awesomeness. In 2013 (Psychoparalysis) will play their first shows outside Finland, in Mexico and Russia. The action-packed fast forward approach seems to fit (Psychoparalysis) - slowing down does not seem likely. More...

"Karhu's 2013 tour can finally be announced - a string of 17 dates will see them performing their own brand of progressive metal across the U.K. from the 10th to 26th of May. London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Bristol and Gloucester are just a few of the UK cities and towns that will be experiencing 'The Karhu Groove.'
"Following on from the enthusiastic reception of their 2012 tour, the band have changed the management team and gone full steam ahead into the tasks of band promotion. The first album Survival of the Richest has been polished up with improved vocal and guitar parts, remixed and mastered, with a DVD including a couple of bonus tracks and a Documentary to accompany the CD. Magazines, festivals and Record Labels can keep an eye out for that before its release date of May 3rd.
"The U.K. element of the band, which now includes Hampshire based Jake Archer, is rehearsing through March and April. Finnish guitarist and growling vocalist, Osku Kinnunen, flies in the week before the tour to polish up the performance."
Karhu's Manager "The Glove" also states: "We would like to thank all the promoters and agents that have been involved in the setting up of the 'Reality 2.0 Tour 2013.' Due to the costs involved in flying Osku in from Finland, the band has not been able to make use of the Battle of the Bands route to recognition within the British Metal Music Industry. We are grateful that some of the UK's Promoters have taken a chance on Karhu and given the band a fantastic opportunity to play to the Metal Heads of this great Island." More...

Melodic metal act Freedom Call's balance sheet is certainly something to be proud of: the group surrounding vocalist/guitarist Chris Bay has released a total of seven studio albums and two live releases. Freedom Call is also ever-present live on the stage, having toured not only with the likes of Saxon, Edguy, Blind Guardian, and Hammerfall, but also having played successful tours on its own since 2010.
Freedom Call's exceedingly melodic songs are frequently referred to as "happy metal," with the group earning the title of "Happiest Metal-Band In The World." The release of "Ages Of Light" on April 29th, 2013 (USA: May 7th 2013) is set to mark the band's 15th anniversary. The following press release was issued about the upcoming collection:
"This full-to-the-brim best-of release includes 18 classics from their creative career to date, among them 'We Are One' from their 1999 debut, the anthemic 'Freedom Call' off Crystal Empire (2001), 'Warriors' and 'Land Of Light' from their 2002 release Eternity, a live version of 'Metal Invasion' and the topical 'Power & Glory' off Land Of The Crimson Dawn (2012). 'Those 18 numbers are usually celebrated at our gigs, or even requested with a vengeance,' explains Chris Bay, who has another real ace up his sleeve: the bonus CD Masqueraded presents six Freedom Call tracks in new and unusual guises: a ska version of 'Metal-Invasion', 'Mr. Evil' as a melodic reggae track, 'Hero On Video' as a speed ska number and 'Rockin' Radio' (which is also supported by a video clip) in a killerbilly version.
"Masqueraded is complemented by 'Freedom Call' in campfire strumming style (including music sheet/tablature) and 'Age Of The Phoenix' in a power swing outfit. It would hardly be possible to present these tracks more colourfully or diverse. Bay adds, 'Our intention with Masqueraded was to inspire musicians and music fans to create their own, personal version of one of our songs - irrespective of musical style - and send it to us.' "Time's Arrow" was recorded at Assembly Line Studios with producer Kevin '131' Gutierrez (Shinedown/While Heaven Wept/Deceased). Other songs set to appear on the album include "Queen of Hell", which was previewed on a limited EP earlier this year (see review at over here), "I'll Walk With You," a zombie epic inspired by The Walking Dead television series, and the monumental 10-minute title track "Time's Arrow."
