Swedish death metallers The Project Hate have posted a new promotional video for their upcoming album online. The video can be viewed below. The Project Hate's vocalist J also issued the following statement about the new album:
"First of all let me tell you, this album is the best TPH album so far. At least that is my opinion, in a few months you all can decide for yourselves. But personally I like this album a lot more than any of the other albums. Recording wise this was a lot easier for me as well. In the past we have done all the vocals over a weekend, which is hard as fuck to do. I have no problem with sounding like I do for an hour or two, but after that I don’t feel like doing it anymore coz I get pain in my head, neck, chest, dick…etc etc… And of course when the pain sets in it is just not as fun anymore…
"I recorded the vocals together with my friend and neighbor, Jonas Åhlén, who is the singer of the band Backdraft and also run a studio here in Stockholm called A.R.T Studios. It is based like 3 minutes away from where we live so it is very easy for us just to go there late at night and record for a couple of hours and then head home… But it took a bit longer than we expected. Mainly because both of us have small kids and with kids come all kinds of diseases and other things to take care of. So over a 3 month period we worked maybe for 10 hours or so in total, haha… But in the end I think it made my performance better. To make it as smooth as possible I was rehearsing the lyrics, as well as writing most of them, in my car at work. So I would sit there learning the songs and lyrics during the day and then around 21.00 we would head for the studio and recorded, edited and so on until 23.00 and then went home for some sleep. And it worked out real fine.
"Also I am so fucking damn proud of K to have managed and bring in some of the finest guest musicians around. And one of them is my long-time favourite death metal vocalist Martin van Drunen. When K told me that - I pissed my pants out of happiness… First time I heard Martin was with Pestilence on “Consuming Impulse”. And it knocked me flat. It is still one of my favourite albums of all time. And now I have the honors to be on the same record as him. I can sure die a happy man now. I have toured with Iron Maiden, Slayer, Neurosis, had the pleasure to scream my guts out together with Chris Reifert from Autopsy during the Murder Squad recordings - the list goes on and on… And now Martin and me are doing vocals together? Metal up my fucking ass for sure!!! More...

Idaho based metallers Sonic Devastation have issued the following update about the recording of their as-yet-untitled new album:
"As you know, we've set a goal for ourselves to have our latest slab done by the time of our show at Tony's in Blackfoot April 18th. We are still going to make every effort to accomplish it and realize that the recording may be complete by that time, but the mastering/packaging/duplication of the product could realistically take longer than the time frame we've given ourselves. Don't despair, we are working very hard to finish as promised, but want to make sure that no detail of the effort is rushed to make a deadline that may be sooner than we can deliver it by.
"An exciting sidenote, we've added Arsenic Addiction to the roster of the Tony's show in April making for even moreso a night not to miss!"
The show will take place at Tony's Billiards in Blackfoot, Idaho on April 18th. The complete lineup will be Sonic Devastation, Ixxion, Haxsaw Ridge and Arsenic Addiction.

Silent Civilian, the band fronted by Spineshank vocalist Jonny Santos, will be releasing a brand new studio album this year entitled, "Ghost Stories." To help get fans ready for the release, the band has posted a new song on their official Myspace entitled, "The Last One Standing." You can check it out here.
Speaking on the song and the album, Santos states: "The Last One Standing’ is, to me, the best representation of what is to come from the next record. I feel it has all the elements of what Silent Civilian is, but also shows where the band is going. It has all the elements needed to be a great S.C. song, but also shows a maturity in the songwriting dept. Lyrically it is an anthem for individuality. Basically it’s a song against anyone who is being controlled by anything - a song that promotes free thinking and non-conformity.
"The record as a whole is very diverse in the sense that the whole band contributed to the writing process this time around, instead of it primarily being Chris and I, like on the last record. I feel that we have got through our growing pains, and the fans will hear that on ‘Ghost Stories’. This record has more of a raw, unpolished vibe to it. I feel it has a very ‘dangerous’ vibe to it, for lack of a better term. It seems like this band only does well under stress and pressure, or flying by the seat of our pants in the face of adversity, and I wanted to capture that feeling in the song writing this time around. It is a brutal record, and that's the bottom line. It will kick your face in repeatedly and that's what Silent Civilian is all about. We are looking forward to being back on tour and seeing our fans again this summer, and we can't wait to put this record out!!!"
