"The only reason we are going on tour is to kick the asses of programmers that haven't played "Attack" yet," says guitarist/vocalist Fran Strine. Bassist, David Ellefson (F5, former Megadeth bassist), adds "Fran probably shouldn't have broken the tour news, but dammit, some people need to be scared into submission!"
Pittsburgh’s CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN have posted the following update:

CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN will be heading into Mr. Smalls Studios in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in June to record the new tracks. Oh, Sleeper were the victims of some thievery while on tour in Cleveland, Ohio. Here's the official word from bassist Lucas Starr:
"Well, we've been back on the road for two days now. Things were going awesome. We got to Cleveland, Ohio tonight to start the Artery Tour tomorrow night. We decided to find a movie theater to see the new Keven Spacey movie, 21.
"After the movie was over, we went out to our van and the driver side door's lock was busted. All of our personal belongings were stolen from us. All of the laptops, cell phones, phone chargers, ipods, ipod transmitter, books, money, cameras, backpacks, cash box, all of the band's money, briefcases, jackets, our GPS, and many other belongings were taken from us. It's very unfortunate, and very discouraging.
"As of now, we plan on continuing the tour. If anything changes, we'll let you know first-hand. Please keep us in your prayers, and pray that I will have mercy if I ever find the dude who stole our stuff."

This will be BREAKER's third trip to Germany, a country where the band still enjoys a sizeable underground following. The group has performed at major festivals like Wacken Open Air and Headbangers Open Air in recent years.
Prior to the Bang Your Head!!! appearance, BREAKER will play a special "warm-up" concert at the Jigsaw Saloon in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, June 14. Special guests are the MANIMALS.
Formed in 1982, BREAKER quickly became one of the top-drawing original metal bands in Cleveland and was the leader of the city's internationally renowned '80s metal scene.
BREAKER's current lineup is as follows:
Jim Hamar (vocals)

Dutch female-fronted metal band MORNING has posted a clip of a new song, "Fading vs. Waiting", on their MySpace page. The track comes off the group's upcoming sophomore album, "Moments of Truth", due later in the year via an as-yet-undetermined label. The follow-up to 2005's "Hour of Joy" (Black Lotus Records) was produced by Gail Liebling (GAIL OF GOD), who has previously worked with such bands as CALLENISH CIRCLE, CRUACHAN (as a producer), FEAR FACTORY and SYMPHONY X (as a sound engineer).
MORNING last fall announced the addition of drummer Jim van de Kerkhof (UPLIFTED, MORTON BLACK) to the group's ranks.

Sacramento, California's EMBRACE THE END have returned with their sophomore album, "Ley Lines", which was produced by Zach Ohren (AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS) with artwork courtesy of Paul Romano (MASTODON, TRIVIUM). Once
"Ley Lines" is set for an April 15 release and the entire album can now be streamed at the band's new e-card.
With a sound inspired by both metal and hardcore alike, EMBRACE THE END proves to be uncompromising in aggression and unmatched in their sound. Using a deft fusion of scathing blast beats amid a torrent of seismic breakdowns their musicianship is supreme and devastating.
The group will join up with HEAVEN SHALL BURN and THE GHOST INSIDE for a nationwide trek this month, which will lead them immediately into a run with ANIMOSITY, FIRST BLOOD and FOR THE FALLEN DREAMS. More...

"You'll be hearing a lot more from me soon!"

"Welcome to the fifth video blog post. Thanks to you who have followed us so far!"
"This post differs a little from earlier posts since I got so tired of us being filmed in the same room over and over, so I decided to take our great camera guy Per out to show you what our hometown Helsingborg looks like."
"If you are a fan of DARKANE/ SOILWORK/ THE DEFACED/ TERROR 2000 or any other Helsingborg-based band you might enjoy seeing what the streets look like where we wandered around as teenagers dreaming of playing the big stages. So this is not an ordinary video blog post with us working in the studio. More studio footage will come up soon for sure. And... if you see anything in my car that is not metal... I can only blame my wife!" More...

Swedish death metallers VISCERAL BLEEDING have issued the following update:
"After the tour last year with DEICIDE, we all felt that we needed a break from the band and because of that we only did a couple of shows during the rest of 2007. But now after a well-needed rest we have regained our strength and we've now started writing material for a fourth album. As of now, we only have a few riffs here and there but we have a well-formed plan for the next album and we're all very excited to start working on this. So that's that."
VISCERAL BLEEDING's third full-length album, "Absorbing the Disarray", was released last year via Neurotic Records.
Knoxville, Tennessee based metallers, Human Fuse, issue the following update regarding their recent split up on their MySpace page:
"Guys, first let me say that this is not a message I honestly thought I’d have to write; but, Human Fuse is officially done. After nearly 7 years Ben, Mitch, Joe and myself have decided to call it quits. Call it cliche but we’ll site "creative differences" as the primary reason. By no means does this mean there is any ill will among us. We’ve seen many bands come and go over the course of our "career" in the Knoxville music scene and it really does put things in perspective. By no means are the four of us going to leave the world of music, I’m very confident that you will see us all again. I feel I can speak for the rest of the guys when I say that I feel we’ve had a pretty good ride. "
"I’ll get a little sentimental for a minute. For me the guys in this band have been my brothers and you fans have been our family. We couldn’t have made it as far as we did or lasted as long as we did without you guys. I personally want to thank all of the bands we’ve shared the stage with and all of the venues we’ve played. A HUGE thanks goes out to Ajen our long-time roadie extraordinaire and to Klint, Andrew, Adam, Brandon, Chris, MiAH and everyone else who’s been a part of our family and helped us over the years."
"I’m sure the other guys will chime in when they get a chance but until then, Thanks everyone for your love and support and don’t run with scissors."
Italy's ADDICTION CREW will release its long-awaited new album, "Lethal", on June 6 via Aural Music/SPV (June 4 in Japan via RB Records).

More aggressive and metal-oriented than its predecessor, "Lethal" was produced and mixed by ADDICTION CREW's guitar player Alex Guadagnoli and UK's up-and-coming producer James Dunkley (engineer for the likes of SABBAT, SOIL, BLAZE BAYLEY, AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE). More...

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told England's Kerrang! magazine that the band will play songs from its upcoming new album this summer on at least one of its festival dates. Speaking about the band's recently announced headlining appearance at the UK's Reading and Leeds Festivals in late August, Ulrich said, "We're psyched to play some new songs. In fact, if we don't, then I give people permission to come and find me and slap me across the face! We're certainly planning on rolling out some of the new songs for the first time, but right now our focus is on finishing the record. As soon as that's out of the way, we'll be hitting the rehearsal room and getting to grips with playing these bastards live!"
METALLICA's yet-to-be-titled ninth studio album is tentatively due out in September. The band is said to be in the final stages of recording.
North Carolina thrashers SANCTITY — who are free agents after recently losing their deal with Roadrunner Records — are in the process of demoing new material with a view towards finding a new label home. Video footage from the current demo-recording sessions can be viewed below.
SANCTITY recently parted ways with Jared MacEachern (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Derek Anderson (bass) "for personal reasons." Brian Stephenson took care of the vocal duties during the band's recent tour with SONATA ARCTICA while Zach Jordan and Scott Smith (both in ABOVE THE MEANS) filled in on guitar and bass, respectively.
SANCTITY's video for the song "Beloved Killer" was shot in Asheville, NC with director Ramon Boutviseth. The track comes off the "Road to Bloodshed" CD, which came out in April 2007. More...

EPICA vocalist Simone Simons has issued the following update:
"Hello to all of you,
One of the four tests was positive and we all decided that we shouldn’t take any risks regarding my health and that Amanda (Somerville) should replace me.
It is already a big improvement that only one of the test results is still positive, this means that the MRSA is almost out of my system!
Amanda Somerville, a great friend and member of the Epica team will replace me for the American tour with SYMPHONY X.
We chose Amanda because she is already familiar to the Epica fans. You can hear her on all our albums, singing backing vocals, on 'Seif al Din' and the' Obsessive Devotion' you can hear her speak, she is singing in the Epica choir and she was my vocal coach for all the albums.
We are happy that she is willing to fill in for me since she is already part of the band in a way.
Amanda has a great voice and a wonderful presence. I am sure you will love her long blond hair.
She will do a good job and I wish her and Epica good luck for this tour.
I will rest a bit more in the mean time and will come back soon with full force!
Love ya all, Simone."

"Mistaken for Dead" contains nine songs and will be enhanced with a three-part DVD segment featuring footage on the making of the album, interviews, funny stuff, on-the-road material, live shots, and vintage footage. The album will also include a professionally shot video for the song "Buried Alive" which was filmed this past weekend in Tampa.
The CD is currently being mixed by Mark Lewis at AudioHammer studios in Sanford, Florida. Mark's credits include TRIVIUM, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CHIMAIRA and BURY YOUR DEAD, among others.
RESURRECTION's 2008 plans include a full European fall tour and hopefully a run in the States towards the end of summer.
Drummer Matt Sorum (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has issued the following update:
Want to give a very special thanks to our amazing crew, these are the guys and girl that work their asses off bouncing around on a tour bus then getting up after no sleep to set up all the gear, get the dressing rooms ready, food for the crew and band etc, etc. Hard working dedicated people who love the traveling rock n roll show. They are the foundation of Velvet Revolver. Love U guys!!!!
And as you all know by now it was our last show with Scott Weiland.
It was great to be in the UK and Europe playing for all you great fans. Thank you for your support as well as your passion. You people go crazy and we love it.
Took some pictures with my girl In Amsterdam before we left for the airport today. Feeling good about the future.
Going to get back to work right away on some new music and hope to have exciting news soon.
As for Scott I wish him well.
Seattle metallers NEVERMORE have announced that they will not be unable to perform at this year's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, set to take place the weekend of April 25-27 at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. According to guitarist Jeff Loomis, the band has been unable to find a suitable replacement for guitarist Chris Broderick — who recently left NEVERMORE's touring lineup to join MEGADETH — and does not wish to perform as a four-piece. Loomis states, "We have tried to work as a four-piece band, but were unable to reach the real NEVERMORE sound, especially in a live setting, which is what our fans could expect from us. We really feel sorry about this, as we know that our fans were waiting to see us at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. We hope to see you all soon."
This year will mark the tenth anniversary of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, the largest and most successful metal festival in the United States.

Canadian progressive death metallers, Into Eternity, issue the following update:
”Things are going great on our small headlining tour to the East coast, where we meet up with Epica and Symphony X. The Winnipeg show and the St.Paul gig were the 2 best so far, but we have met many cool people at all the venues. We had a blown tire on the RV already and customs held us for 3 hours at the border, while they put the RV in a parking garage and put us in a small, white brick waiting room. Our band can survive anything and we have made every show regardless. Nothing will stop this machine! The RV just made it to Des Moines yesterday and the highway was shut down due to a blizzard and car accidents! We were stuck on the interstate in a blizzard behind a mile of non moving traffic. Of course we still made the gig and had a cool show!” More...
