On May 29, evilive will release "The Lost Tracks of Danzig," a two-CD set comprised of 26 previously unreleased tracks that span Danzig's entire career. All of the tracks were recorded during the band's seven-album "arc" that began with 1988's "Danzig."
"Whenever I've made a new album, I've recorded more songs than were needed for the final CD," said Glenn Danzig. "The songs that make it onto the final album 'fit' or 'flow' together as a whole. Consequently, some tremendous Danzig songs have never been released, not because they weren't great, but because they didn't fit the overall vibe of the particular album, or for other reasons."
When Glenn began the "Lost Tracks" project, the songs were in various stages of completion - some were still in demo form, some had no vocals, some needed a different mix, a new bass or guitar track, or some other type of tweaking. So, after spending months tracking down and reviewing the original tapes, Glenn entered the studio and completed the tracks, handling the vocals and finishing all instrumental recording himself. Invitro, featuring ex-Snot/Soulfly guitarist Mikey Doling, have announced a free benefit concert at Minxx strip club in Las Vegas on April 4th, 2007 at 12 noon. The show will be hosted by comedian Ralphie May of the NBC's hit reality series, "Last Comic Standing". Proceeds raised during the performance will go towards the medical bills for three Minxx employees who were wounded in a February shooting that broke out at the club.
43-year-old Minxx security guard Tom Urbanski was left a paraplegic as a result of the multiple gunshot wounds he suffered during the shooting. Since then, Urbanski has endured a series of costly medical procedures and rehabilitation that will continue for the rest of his life.
"I've been good friends with Minxx owner Dwight Chornomud since we played college football together at San Diego State," says Gridiron Records Kyle Turley. "When I heard about the horrible tragedy that happened at Dwight's club I had to do everything I could to help these people out and get back on track. I also think this incident cast a shadow on NFL players and wanted people to know that most of us don't condone the reprehensible actions of a few select players on the evening
Invitro are currently finishing up a 57-date tour with Sevendust and Diecast. The band is set to release their debut album, When I Was A Planet, in summer of 2007 through Gridiron Records, the new label founded by Doling and Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Kyle Turley.
Dutch Gothic Metal Band EPICA and Finnish Metallers KIUAS are the latest additions to the line up for this years Bloodstock Open Air. To recap, bands confirmed so far are:
Rise To Addiction
Beyond All Reason
Many more bands to be announced.
As previously reported, the open air leg of this year’s Bloodstock has moved from July 6-7 to August 16-18. The rescheduling also means that the annual indoor part, usually held in September will not be taking place this year. Despite the confusion and disappointment, the event which takes place at Derbyshire’s Catton Hall boasts its strongest line-up yet.
Vedonist signed the new contract with Trinity Records Hong Kong (who also have on their roster Ozzfest band Chthonic) and started the recording session of its second full-length album at Sophiria Studio.
The new record, called "The World Of Reversed Decalogue" , will contain 8 songs of technical death metal and in the lyrical sphere will be a concept-album about German concentration camps in Poland.
The band plans to finish recording by April 21, as the Scorched Land Tour 2007 (Dismember, Azarath, Vedonist and Iperyt) begins. Premiere of the new album is planned for August 2007.
Trivium’s Matt Heafy talks about their forthcoming tour with Korn
Says Heafy: "Over the past three years TRIVIUM has had the pleasure and honor of touring, supporting, as well as headlining many diverse tours and festivals along with so many different bands, so being invited by KORN to play this year's Family Values 2007 tour and get out in front of a diverse crowd and play is going to rock.
"This tour is a chance for us to finally be able to play for TRIVIUM fans that may have never had the ability to see us before as well as other people who may not normally get to go to metal shows.
"What a great opportunity for us to play with one of the bands some of us grew up with — KORN. We had the honor of supporting KORN last June at the Download Festival in the U.K.
"KORN was one of the first bands I was into as a kid. I bought the first family values DVD back in the day (I know I wasn't the only one!). For a lot of the younger fans out there these big summer tours open doors to different music genres. At the end of the day, if we can help get some new kids into metal then that is awesome.
"So anyways... it's going to be a fucking amazing tour for the fans and we will do our best to do what we do best — which is rock out live and we hope to make some new friends along the way.
"So to wrap it all up, I hope all our fans come out the Family Values tour to these shows and support TRIVIUM — do that and we will deliver a balls-out-metal-as-fuck set to tear the fucker up (we're gonna mix it up and play songs we've never played before.)
"You guys fucking rock. This tour is gonna be a big outdoor summer party — come out and rock out."
There's also a recently conducted video interview with Trivium’s Matt Heafy posted online at PureGrainVideo.com (note: video player at the top of the video section uses a playlist format).

Century Media announce the signing of montreal's The Agonist:
It is extremely rare to find an up-and-coming metal band taking strong political stands, much less one that’s led by a dominating, beautiful, edgy female. But it is exactly this unique dynamic that led Century Media Records to sign Montreal’s THE AGONIST (formerly The Tempest) to a worldwide deal. This quartet delivers introspective, scathing lyrics, and their debut album Once Only Imagined, which is set for a summer release, will definitely catch people’s attention.
Vocalist Alissa White-Gluz’s vegan roots fuel her need to promote the protection of the planet and its inhabitants, and she does so through this outlet. Along with guitarist Danny Marino, bassist Chris Kells and drummer Simon McKay, each member brings their own rich musical backgrounds to the table, creating the perfect expression of melody and madness. Make no mistake, this is a straight-up metal band that holds nothing back with one goal in mind: to make music that is as catchy as it is heavy; as sweet as it is loud; and as angry as it is melancholy. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/theagonist for new photos and new tracks. A new track, “Rise and Fall,” also appears on Century Media’s free spring sampler.
Alissa states: “We were definitely intrigued when Century Media took notice, simply by chance, after hearing a few unmastered tracks of ours. This partnership with Century gives us the platform to say what we need to say and do what we need to do, and that is promote and educate the public on some fundamental causes that are quickly being forgotten, voiced through provoking music that carries the message home.” More...

Aussie metalcore regime Parkway Drive has announced that they are heading to the studio in May to record their follow-up to 2005's Killing With A Smile. Teaming up again with their producer-in-crime, Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, the band will record at Zing Studios in Boston.
"Fans can expect a heavier, faster and more precise album than Killing With A Smile," proclaims frontman Winston McCall. "The new songs mark two years of intense touring, refinement and experience. The songs we are writing are the next step for us. We're simply putting them out there for people to make of them what they will, but rest assured as far as we are concerned this is the album we have always wanted to write."
Currently on a US tour with Comeback Kid, It Dies Today, This Is Hell and Endwell, Parkway Drive will be distributing their destruction upon the masses this summer with a tour of Europe and Japan followed by select dates on the Vans Warped Tour.

Madrid, Spain-based power metallers DARK MOOR will release their new album, "Tarot", in the U.S. on May 22 via Caroline distribution. The CD, which was issued in Europe in February via Italy's Scarlet Records, is said to be "an intriguing" conceptual effort about the major arcanes of the tarot, covering in depth the meaning of each arcane and the esoteric halo that surrounds it. Production duties were once again handled by renowed producer Luigi Stefanini (RHAPSODY, LABIRYNTH, VISION DIVINE). The impressive artwork was created by Derek Gores (EDGUY, KAMELOT).
DARK MOOR recently completed work on the video for the song "The Chariot" with producer Dividi2. Check out pictures from the shoot at this location.
DARK MOOR recently parted ways with drummer Andy C. due to "scheduling conflicts" with his other musical projects. His replacement, Roberto Cappa, is "an experienced live and studio performer" who previously played in the Spanish metal band ANIMA SOLA.
Rusty Cage Records has announced the signing of technical death metal band Obsidian. Obsidian's debut album "Emerging" is due out on Rusty Cage at the end of May. The vocals on this album, which was self-released in a very small number last year, will be recorded again by new singer Robbe K (also vocalist of the band Disavowed).
The final mixing will be done again by Jochem Jacobs, who also mixed Cypher's Darkday Carnival and will also work on Magnacult's debut album Synore.
