Svart Records is pleased to announce the signing of Peace Killers, a band of aging misfits with oversized amps and egos. The label comments:
"Attempting to revive rock's filthy past and stumbling drunkenly down its darkest paths. Peace Killers have released two self-financed digital EPs in 2013, and are currently preparing to start recording the debut full-length album, which will be released in late 2014 by Svart. As a preview, 'Young Man's Shoes' is a track taken from their second EP, and can be heard below.
"Before forming, the musicians comprising Peace Killers shared a combined experience of almost 40 years gigging and recording in the Northern California punk and hardcore scene. Their style of writing is swift, intuitive, and improvisational. The result is an early metal sound with a DIY punk ethic.
"They boast a second lead guitar that creates a 3D effect in the band's blues-based sound, inspired by the twin guitars of legends like Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden. Apart from those names, influences include the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, UFO, Melvins, Fu Manchu, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Fang, Witchcraft, and KISS." With its official detonation now less than twenty-four hours away, the crypt keepers at Metal Hammer bring extreme metal fans the sordid sounds of "The Barren Throne," the latest long player from Iceland-based death metal leviathans, Beneath! Hear all the tracks below.
Centered lyrically and conceptually around the idea of inevitable self-consumption, the follow-up to 2012's "Enslaved By Fear" marks Beneath's first release with new vocalist Benedikt Natanael Bjarnason, who joined the lineup last June.
The album's massive production was achieved by the Wieslawski brothers of famed Hertz Studios in Poland (Behemoth, Dead Infection, Vader, Decapitated). More...
Swiss doom metal outfit Pylon is very excited to announce the debut single and video from forthcoming album "Homo Homini Lupus," coming out this Summer on U.S. label Roxx Records.
The debut track is entitled "Saligia" and is the first to showcase the vocal talents of Jordan Cutajar (Nomad Son) who is currently fronting the band for this effort. A music video for the track is available below.
With Cult of Luna & God Seedout together on European Tour, Indie Recordings approached select artists about remixing tracks from the two bands. Indie Recordings comments:
"The results have been astonishing. From dark drone to heavy beats, to a club mix of God Seed and even a trip to the Cult of Luna circus... We’ve had what can only be described as an eclectic mix come back to us.
"Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing tracks on to the Indie Recordings Youtube page. To start things off, we have two Cult of Luna remixes, and one God Seed. ‘Passing Through’ has been experimented on by Petrels, Poland’s Whalesong have given us their spin on ‘In Awe Of’, whilst God Seed have had ‘Lit’ re-worked by rising Spanish progressive metal act Obsidian Kingdom." Spanish outfit Kevlar Skin has released a new music video, which can be seen below. The clip is for the title track to the new album "Transmigrator," released via Eclectic Productions. You can also hear more music from the band over at Facebook here.
New outfit No Man's Land started in the spring of 2014 and has members from acts such as Thunderstone, Warmen, Northern Kings, and Kiuas. No Man's Land consists of:
Pasi Rantanen - Vocals
Antti "Colonel" Wirman - Guitar
Mirka Rantanen - Drums
Time Schleifer - Bass
Jari Pailamo - Keyboards
Drummer Mirka Rantanen comments: "I wanted the playing to be fun. Any kind of ego boosting and dictatorial band leading would be totally out of the question. I also wanted to make the kind of music, which would be close to my heart and which I knew the other musicians like too."
What is the sound of No Man's Land? You can find that the band's music is motivated strongly by the 1980's hard rock and heavy atmosphere, where you can hear the echoes of the genre’s long-time favorites such as Whitesnake, Dokken, and Mr. Big.
"In this band everyone is the songwriter, involved in the making of the songs and music, their ideas are listened to and tried out in the rehearsal room," Rantanen says.
No Man's Land is currently in the studio working on demos, with details on a full album forthcoming.
"I had in my mind exactly this line-up and I was hoping that all would agree with this. What's better, they shared my passion and agreed. I feel schoolboy enthusiasm towards No Man's Land and I believe that the good feeling is passed on to the songs and listeners," Rantanen says with a smile. More...

Singer Pekka Ansio Heino spoke about the band's upcoming release: "We're thrilled to be back in action after 5 years which seems like a life time! We wouldn't be THIS thrilled if the new album hadn't turned out be exactly how we wanted it to be. It's just as bold, big, polished, hooky and sticky as we pictured it. A lot of hard work was spent making it happen and now it's time for the best part of making music; taking it out and playing it live. We can't wait to meet our old friends again and hopefully make some new ones along the way. Hope you enjoy Diamond In The Firepit. Thanks for still being there and sorry for the delay, let's have some serious fun!" More...

After recently launching a video for their new album's title track, the metal icons in Arch Enemy are now ready to unleash a second single from upcoming 9th full-length, "War Eternal," which is due out worldwide via Century Media Records (Trooper Entertainment in Japan) on June 9th in Europe and June 10th in North America.
Check out a lyric video for "As The Pages Burn" below, courtesy of Loudwire.com. Chief song-writer and band leader Michael Amott comments:
"'As The Pages Burn' almost goes back to the style of writing that I had in the late 90's. It's very old school Arch Enemy with an almost Slayer-vibe in the intro/verse and a huge melodic chorus. A bit like 'The Immortal' and other AE classics of that time. The middle section is very classical music inspired - a twin guitar part that is a lot fun to play. Alissa wrote the lyrics for the song. This song is an example of what I love about collaborating-- in the songwriting, I'm giving her the instrumental, and she comes from a different background, and the two different approaches merge together to form a very interesting result that blew my mind. It's one of my favorite tracks on the album."
Front-woman Alissa White-Gluz (who stepped in after the departure of Angela Gossow) adds: "'As The Pages Burn' is also one of my favorite songs. I think it's going to be a very fun song to perform live. I really like fast-paced, energetic songs. A lot of the lyrics on the album are coming straight from my brain during sleepless nights. I often wake up in the middle of the night from horrible nightmares and just start writing songs. For whatever reason, I like the lyrics that I get that way, they feel real and uncensored. This song is one that I wrote at 4am in the dark, half asleep. In the morning I woke up and thought, 'This is cool, I'm going to use this, and I know just the music to put it to'. The musical dynamics in the song are very satisfying to sing to as well. I hope you like it!" More...

"Abra Kadavar Special Edition" and "Live In Antwerp" will be released on June 6th (Europe) and June 9th (UK & France) 2014 via Nuclear Blast.
Commented the band: "With over 250 shows played, we have always considered ourselves as an absolute live band. Our sound on stage is different from the one on the studio albums and thus we’ve been asked time and again, why we don’t do a live release. The time seemed right now and on our last EU tour we recorded some of the shows. Antwerp was the best of them. I would even say one of the best in 2013. Everything was right, people were in a great mood and I am very happy with the sound – especially since it does not sound like every other live album!”
