Stockholm, Sweden-based melodic death metallers Degradead are set to release their third album "A World Destroyer" on June 28th in North America through Metalville Records.
The album was recorded at Peter Tägtgren's (Hypocrisy, Pain) Abyss Studios in Pärlby, outside Ludvika, Sweden, produced by Degradead and Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Centinex, World Below).
Green skinned death metal act A Band Of Orcs, which covered the Type O Negative song "Green Man" for our digital Type O Negative tribute album, will soon be releasing a line of 28mm fantasy miniatures. A statement from the band's website reads as follows:
"We the denizens of Orc Tower are positively, diabolically giddy to announce that we have teamed up with Impact! Miniatures in a joint venture to produce a 28mm miniature set based on – you guessed it – the harbingers of the Domination… A Band of Orcs!
"The set will include all five warchiefs of the Gore-Stained Axe Tribe – Gogog Bloodthroat, Cretos Filthgrinder, Hulg ElfR.I.P.per, Oog Skullbasher and Gronk! in poses with their instruments. These minis will make a brutal addition to your Warhammer armies, a great coaching staff or vip crowd members for your fantasy football teams, or you can simply paint them and role-play the inevitable Domination!
"We tapped our erstwhile slave and chaos chronicler renowned artist Chuck Lukacs, longtime veteran of the war on human ear drums and the painter responsible for the A Band of Orcs’ Burning Shield and Axe logo, Ugly is Sexy t-shirt design and the WarChiefs of the Apocalypse EP cover, among other pieces of orctastic proporcanda, to provide the sketches upon which our monstrous visages will be based. Impact! and A Band of Orcs will release Chuck’s sketches over the coming weeks with the miniatures set for release at Gencon (the original, longest running and best attended RPG and war-gaming convention in the world) in early August. Patrick Keith, a magician of metal sculpture in the gaming industry, will bring these mini- manifestations of your brutal orc masters to life."
Metalunderground.com's xFiruath also commented on the upcoming minis:
"Heavy metal music anthems have been a staple of weekly gaming sessions for years, and now the two worlds are about to collide violently as the guitar wielding orcs invade the fantasy miniature market. You don’t get names like 'Skullbasher' or 'Bloodthroat' through brutal riffs alone though, as my poor players are going to find out when these minis hit the gaming table. So pull out the paints, crank up the volume, and hope your gaming group gets spared come the orc Domination."
Hatesphere has issued the following update about entering the recording studio in June:
"We have booked the Antfarm Studio, Aarhus, Denmark, from June 13th in order to make you a new album!
"Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Sick Of It All) will be guiding us through it, hopefully without getting too many gray hairs! Tue has been working with us on four of our releases - and we look forward to doing it once again!
"A little funny anecdote: Tue actually produced our second demo 'Disconnected '97' back in 1997 as one of his first productions... and this was an actual demo TAPE! Those were the days."

Brisbanetimes.com.au has reported that a dispute over listening to Limp Bizkit has lead to an alleged murder in Australia. An excerpt from the story follows.
A Sunshine Coast man was bashed to death, put in a shopping trolley and dumped in a creek following a drunken fight over music selection, a court has heard.
The court was told Emmanuel McPherson, 48, objected when his flatmate, James Albert Madden, played a Limp Bizkit album on Mr. McPherson's stereo.
A fight then broke out, in which Mr. Madden allegedly beat Mr McPherson to death. Mr. Madden, 24, is on trial for Mr. McPherson's murder. He pleads not guilty to the charge.
The two men and two women, Kila Jones and Lee Jolae, had been drinking at a unit they shared on Reilly Road at Nambour on May 25, 2009 when the violence broke out.
The dispute reportedly began when Mr McPherson told Mr Madden not to touch his stereo and told him to turn the CD off. A Brisbane Supreme Court jury was told Mr. Madden hit Mr. McPherson about the head with an alcohol bottle, punched him and stomped on his face as he lay on the floor.

Christian act The Great Commission will be releasing the band's second full length album "Heavy Worship" through Ain't No Grave Records (ANGR) this summer on July 12th, 2011. Guitarist Angela Razo commented on the album, "This is the heaviest, most anointed music we have written yet. This album sums up 2 years of writing and planning. We are ready to take this world by storm."
The Great Commission recorded the album with Andrew P. Glover (Sleeping Giant, Winds of Plague, Wolf City) in Rancho Cucamonga, CA at Sound Temple Studio. Andrew had the following to say:
"Being from Southern California I have been able to see The Great Commission go from a promising up and coming band to a national force to be reckoned with. I had the pleasure of getting to work on very early versions of these songs a year ago and I was ecstatic when the band asked me if I would produce and engineer their ANGR debut. This was, undoubtedly, the most taxing recording experience I have ever been a part of. Due to all of our relentless touring schedules we were forced to fit a record that should've taken a month and fit it into just over a week of recording which is something that I think everyone thought would be an impossible feat. With the aid of a few hundred dollars worth of Rockstar and a ton of determination on all of our parts we were able to finish just in time with the record that will define what the Great Commission has become and will help them forge forward in the future as leaders in both the Christian and secular scenes."
The Great Commission will also be appearing this summer on the Scream the Prayer tour alongside Norma Jean, August Burns Red, The Chariot and more.

The Maryland Deathfest organizers have announced that Death Breath and Devourment have canceled their scheduled appearances at the event this year and replacements have been named.
Death Breath has issued the following statement regarding their cancellation:
"Production difficulties with the complexity of the band being spread all over the world made an error in the schedule, so we simply had to cancel as we felt we couldn´t achieve a good performance. To do a one off show is actually more difficult than we thought. We are very sorry for this and wanna say thanks for understanding to the fans and the promoter."
Devourment canceled as the result of a member in the band attending to family matters.
As a result of these cancellations, In Solitude (Sweden) will be making the band's first U.S. appearance, and Skinless will be playing the act's last ever show, and with the original line up. In Solitude will be playing on Saturday, and Skinless will be playing on Sunday.
The final Deathfest schedule was to be released this Friday, April 29th, but these changes have delayed those plans. Expect a complete schedule next week.
Metal on Metal Records has issued the following announcement about signing a deal with Outrage:
"Our latest signing is also the oldest band on our roster. And definitely not for those who like their metal nice, melodic and with polished production. Formed in 1983 in Germany, Outrage belonged to the first wave of black metal (even though black/thrash with some elements of doom and death metal would be a more accurate description of their style) - their 4 demos from the '80s were influenced by Hellhammer, Venom, Celtic Frost, Sodom and Possessed.
"Peers of the big 3 of the German thrash, they never 'made it,' instead dwelling in the underground, shrouded in obscurity, while their name was passed on by the word-of-mouth along with awfully recorded (and yet so great!) demo tapes (I happened to have one of them, 'From Nightmares And Myths' from '86 since the late '80s and it's been one of the favourite demos in my collection). The band split in 1988... to return in 2004 and self-release 6 CDs. Now, back with the original vocalist Frank P. 'The Voice Of Hell,' they decided to re-record some of their early songs, going back to their roots."
Founder, songwriter and guitarist Udo F. also had this to say: "It was on the 13th of December 2010, on the 283rd band rehearsal since our reunion in 2004, when we decided to call it quits and play our last concert on the 26th of February 2011. On the 5th of February 2011 I got an e-mail from Italy... Jowita was her name and she was writing to order all Outrage stuff... What shall I say? She was also from a label, Metal On Metal Records... What started as a 'fan-band' contact quickly developed into a 'label-band' relationship. What a perfect timing, as we were planning to play our final show! What a great luck... it's incredible!"
Metal On Metal Records will release the band's new CD "Go To Hell" in October, 2011.

American hardcore/metal crossover outfit Earth Crisis has announced that they have completed work on their brand new album, "Neutralize The Threat." The record is scheduled to be released on July 12th through Century Media Records. Speaking about the album, the band had the following to say:
"We are very happy with how Neutralize The Threat came out. Musically, it resembles the song structures on To The Death, but with a Gomorah's Season Ends vibe thrown in. Every song is lyrically inspired by real-life vigilante actions that have taken place around the globe. The topics range from The Black Panther Party to Bernard Goetz and we think it's an original lyrical concept for the band, while also retaining some subject matter we are known for dealing with in the past. Zeuss is the man and definitely delivered the best sounding record we have ever had! We can't wait for you guys to hear it!"
The tracklisting is as follows: More...
Circus Maximus has checked in with the following update about delays in the band's recording process for new material:
"As many of you have been wondering, what has been, or is going on in the CM camp these days? What is the status on the recording on the new album? Well... To give you the short and brutal version, here is where we are today:
"After finishing the drum tracks in November, the band took the Christmas holidays off, presuming to start up right over new years with drum editing, and continue with guitar, bass, keys and vocals right after that. What we didn't plan out as a result of Mats' grueling long hours in front of the computer, editing drums, was that he got arm inflammation in both arms. Because of this, both the drum editing (that was over half ways finished), and upcoming rhythm guitar tracking had to be postponed until further notice. With this, and other personal/family stuff that had to be dealt with, the recording process stagnated quite a bit.
"On a positive note: Mats' arm injury has improved a great deal, and the drum-editing is finished, the band has been rehearsing for their upcoming shows in May and we are filming more for the 'Rockumentary' this weekend up in the mountains of Trysi (Guess there will be more drunken madness than interviews, because it's Mikey's birthday as well).
"We are glad to tell you all that things are looking better nowadays with the speed bumps and hickups out of the way, and that we will be putting the 'pedal to the metal' on the recordings from mid May. Circus Maximus is truly grateful for all the support that has been shown, as well as your patience and understanding. There wouldn't be a Circus Maximus without you, the fans. That makes you a little Circus Maximus too... hehe."
