AMEN have been forced to postpone their previously announced U.K. tour due to "an old stage injury that has gone untreated for some time" which "has ruptured and caused Casey [Chaos, vocals] to almost lose his life," according to a post on the band's official web site.
"We are all very shaken up right now," the rest of the band write on their web site. "This could very well have happened two weeks from now during a show on the tour, and due to the intensity of AMEN's live shows, it would have most likely resulted in the death of Casey Chaos. We are grateful that it happened at a time when we could address the matter immediately, and feel good to know that Casey is on the road to a quick recovery.
"This happened as a result of our rigorous rehearsal schedule, and in a strange way, is our wake up call of how hard we have been working to really resurrect and represent what AMEN is about to each one of us. Casey, in fact, wanted to go ahead with the tour against doctor's orders, but the rest of the band and I decided that we would not let him go on without a full recovery under his belt. Doctors expect the recovery period to be about eight weeks, which will leave us to begin our European tour (to be announced in a few days) as scheduled. We plan on returning to the U.K. following this tour, to make up the shows that are being postponed due to Casey's illness. We hope to figure out and announce the make up dates within a couple of weeks, and expect all tickets already purchased to be honored.
"Thank you for your continued support."
Patrick Orr of Boise's The Idaho Statesman has issued the following report:
Things got Wylde at The Big Easy this afternoon, and a concert scheduled for tonight got canceled soon after.
Boise Police were summoned to the concert club around 3 p.m. after getting a call about a possible fight. When they arrived, they found that considerable damage had been done inside The Big Easy. Witnesses said the damage was done by guitarist Zakk Wylde using a baseball bat, Boise police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said.
Officers detained Wylde and another man, Charles Hurd, for about a half hour. Nobody involved wanted to press charges, so the case was dropped, police said.
Wylde, longtime guitarist for metal vocalist OZZY OSBOURNE, was scheduled to play at The Big Easy tonight with his band, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The gig was nixed shortly after the afternoon incident.
“The show was canceled due to illness,” Big Easy co-owner Paul Thornton said.
Thornton would not comment further.
A Fall Farewell have chosen to remaster their new CD. According to the band, "they just weren't happy with the original versions and feel the re-mastered songs are more accurate to the sound they were going for." The new album, entitled "Where Us Trouble Befalls and the Secrecy Enthralls," will be self-released in early-May, since the group received what they considered to be less than satisfactory offers from a few labels. You can listen to three songs from the release here.
Drummer David Breazeal has announced that he has parted ways with UNHOLY GHOST due to "musical differences." Breazeal will continue his work with TROKAR and other musical interests. A replacement drummer has yet to be named.

UNHOLY GHOST's debut album, "Torrential Reign", was released in April 2004 through Olympic/Century Media Records. The CD was recorded at D.O.W. (Diet Of Worms) studios in Seffner, Florida with producer Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (MORBID ANGEL).

Dutch Death Metal band Sinister raised from the dead! "Fact is that after numerous letters and e-mails of fans around the world we reconsidered to revive the band again", states the band, "but drastic measures were needed in order to keep true to ourselves and to our fans that supported the band from the beginning." Which means that Sinister decided to alter the line-up in an unorthodox way: Aad Kloosterwaard, drummer and founder of the band, will be the new vocalist. "This role is not new to him, since he is already handling the mic some time with his other bands Blastcorps and Infinited Hate." Additionally bass player Alex Paul will switch to guitar while newcomer Paul Beltman (ex-Judgement Day) shall be the new Sinister drummer. A (session) bass player will be added when the band hits the road again.
Plans for a new album are already at hand as well, as Alex, Aad and Paul explain: "Our vengeance to those we hate start at the end of this year when we will record our new album in the Stage One studio in Germany. The new album will be released again through Nuclear Blast Records, our brothers in crime, to whom we have the deepest respect for believing in Sinister for all these years. As for our fans who supported us throughout the years and hopefully will again in the future!"
After having been confirmed as supporting acts for Slayer in Austria on June 28th and 29th, Disbelief and the Duskfall will now also open a show for legendary US metallers Anthrax. The concert takes place on June 30th in Linz, Austria.

Sweden's Dark Tranquillity has posted the following message on their official website:
We just got to see the final version of the "The new build" clip and are really pleased with how it all turned out. As previously reported, director Roger Johansson joined us for 5-6 dates of the European tour, filming the performances in London, Paris and Barcelona among others, and the end result is an intense and fast video giving a good impression of the D.T. live experience as well as showing some backstage antics.
The clip is being sent out to the usual stations as we speak, so you will all be able to see it soon.
In other Dark Tranquillity news, the band has confirmed to play at the Evolution festival in Italy on the 16th of July.
A post on the Queens Of The Stone Age website says the video for the single "In My Head" will resemble "Italian porn."
The band wrapped the first leg of their North American tour last week (with the surprising return of Mark Lanegan) and are shooting the new video this week. NME.com reports the video will look similar to the White Stripes clip for "Fell In Love With A Girl." Though how that resembles Italian Porn is a mystery.
On the band's official website, someone called Dr. Insider (possibly Josh Homme) said that from what he has been told, the video will contain "many examples of failed attempts to control your lust and how there is no device that can fulfill or replace the object of obsession."
The video, the second to be released from "Lullabies To Paralyze," will be directed by Associates In Science' — better known as Adam Levite, who has done videos for Beck, Interpol and Radiohead.
Along with the new video, plans for an upcoming QOTSA DVD is said to be in the works as the Insider said he/she heard many ideas being contemplated during a backstage meeting at the Fonda Theatre.
The tentative release date, according to the site, should be sometime in November and it will feature "never-before-seen stupidity."
Spinefarm Records has announced that Children of Bodom's upcoming album, "Are You Dead Yet?" will be released on the following dates:
Finland: Sept. 14, 2005
International: Sept. 19, 2005
Zao guitarist Scott Mellinger recently spoke to Hershey Chronicles about touring and band breakups. Here are several excerpts from the article:
There were certain members of the band that didn't want to do it full force," guitarist Scott Mellinger, who joined Zao in the late '90s, explained. "The financial decisions made it hard. It was a lot of different factors."
Things are finally looking up, though, following an event that could have signaled the end of the group - the departure of the last remaining original member, drummer Jesse Smith, prior to recording sessions for Zao's last full-length, The Funeral of God.
Though Smith was often seen as the figurehead of Zao, according to the guitarist, his role in the group's creative process was blown out of proportion.
"Before, me, Russ [Cogdell, guitarist] and Dan [Weyandt, singer] had as big or a bigger part in the songwriting than Jesse did," Mellinger explained. "He made it out that he was the main songwriter. He never came out and said that, but everybody always talked to him. Since I've joined the band, the songwriting hasn't changed."
What has changed in the last couple years is Zao's record label. After releasing several records on the Tooth & Nail/Solid State family, the group made the jump to Ferret Records for Funeral, and they haven't looked back since.
"They've been great," Mellinger said. "With the band being as unstable as it was, I don't think Solid State wanted to put the money in, and I can't blame them. The support's better [now] - it's nice to have the president of your label be your bro."
"This band's been such a joke with touring and breaking up - it's nice to be stabilized," Mellinger said. "I definitely think it's made a lot of difference for us as a band and the record sales."
Of course, Zao wouldn't be Zao without at least one member change per album cycle. Taking up the mantle of past departees like former bassist Bret Detar - now the frontman for the aforementioned Juliana Theory - was Shawn Koschik, who held down the low end for Funeral, then split.
"Shawn just came in for a little bit," Mellinger explained. "He might've just lost the drive to be in a band."
However, the group's tour manager, Marty Lunn, stepped into Koschik's spot without missing a beat.
"Marty has always been in bands with us since the beginning of our musical careers," Mellinger said. "Before Shawn even joined the band, Marty was up for the bass-playing position. Since he's been our tour manager for the last two years, it's nice to know that he's committed."
