Gnaw Kicking Off New Tour Dates

Tonight the twisted noise merchants in Gnaw will lay waste to Belgium with their harrowing odes of tension, terror, and torment.

From there, the crude collective will march on to France to join unholy forces with the experimental sound serpents in Italy's OvO for an eight-date incursion of audio indecency.

The sonic disassembly will continue upon Gnaw's return at Brooklyn's Saint Vitus Bar on May 8th where the unit will deafen non-believers alongside The Body, Whitehorse and Theologian. Then on May 16th, Gnaw will crush the dreams of the hopeful and the damned as part of the Red Bull Music Academy Fest in Queens. Details are as follows:

In typical Whitechapel fashion, this CD takes the sound we have been developing over the past 8 years of our career and pushes it to new levels. We want each record we release to sound different, and this one is no exception. Graves At Sea Streams "This Place Is Poison"

The Portland doom kings in Graves At Sea today drop a molten taste of "This Place Is Poison," available below thanks to Cvlt Nation.

The sordid hell hymn serves as side A of the EP of same name. The band's first release since 2005's scalding split with Asunder, "This Place Is Poison" was tracked by drummer Bryan Sours (ex-Subarachnoid Space) and Steve Lobdell at Audible Alchemy and mastered by Ryan Foster at Foster Mastering on their home turf.

On Side B, Black Sabbath's "Orchid" and "Lord Of This World" get Graves At Sea'ed: "Orchid" is eroded beyond its essence into a morose march towards death while "Lord of This World" gets a grim reconfiguration with grisly riffs, bilious hisses and a blackened atmosphere that takes the original to a dark, desolate realm of desperation and despair.

Graves At Sea is currently leveling stages across Europe alongside fellow riff-worshippers Sourvein. Remaining dates are as follows:

4/26/2014 Le Klub - Paris, France
4/27/2014 DesertFest @ The Underworld - London, England
4/28/2014 The Lughole - Sheffield, England
4/29/2014 The Roadhouse - Manchester, England
4/30/2014 Music City - Antwerp, Belgium
5/01/2014 Magasin 4 - Bruxelles, Belgium
5/02/2014 Hafenklang - Hamborg, Germany
5/03/2014 Heavy Days In Doomtown - Copenhagen, Denmark More...

Hateure Working On New Album

Hateure is currently working on the follow-up to "A Lustrous Danseur," and the band has now checked in with the following update:

"9th song is almost done. Currently mounting Hateure's new Recording Studio. Third LP recording shall start next month.

"No gigs until shit is done or at least half of it, because this is third world aesthetic reality - you don't fuckin' saturate your balls playing live 5 times a week, document what you fucking have, stretch your fucking discography while you can.

"Surprise the small circle of true listeners/supporters you have by giving them prints of your evolution. Most importantly, do it yourself."

Hateure consists of:

Ronnel S. Vivo - Guitars | Synths

While She Sleeps Vocalist Issues Health Update

Vocalist Lawrence "Loz" Taylor of While She Sleeps has issued the following update about his health and writing for a new album:

"Hey everyone, as many of you know I had an operation a few months ago on my throat. Since then I have been undergoing the necessary procedures to get back to full health so that we can record the rest of our album and play live again.

"Honestly this has been a tough time for me as well as the rest of the guys, I have been forced to make changes to my lifestyle that I've never had to make before but its a journey I've had to take to protect my voice as much as possible. Its taken a lot of focus and commitment to make sure I'm as healthy as I can be, but I'm happy to say that I've been making great progress and I wanted to share that with you guys.

"To keep my mind occupied while not on the road I have been going to see a lot of shows, some of you may have seen me about! But my major focus has been spending time writing for the new While She Sleeps album, we didn't have this amount of time in the past with all of our touring commitments so it's something I'm enjoying taking advantage of. It really feels like a huge step forward for us and I'm incredibly excited with how its sounding, I can't wait for you all to hear it.

"I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has been involved in Throat 666 as we call it haha! Also a big thanks to the amazing new people I have met that have helped me , the rest of the lads in the band for all their continued support and mostly to the While She Sleeps fans that have shown that it is more than just a fucking fan base IT’S A FAMILY! See you at download fuckers! We can't wait to come back!"

Ensiferum, Turisas and Thaurorod at The Circus!

It was to be a more eventful Easter Sunday then most, as instead of the awkward family dinners and drinking binges at a dive bar, I was looking forward to spending an epic evening at The Circus in Helsinki for Ensiferum, Turisas and Thaurorod. There would from that moment on be only small amounts of the required holiday binge drinking at a respectable venue, and in well supplied company!

Though much of the city was quiet, even a half hour before the sold out show was to be played there was a line well outside of the club area, and extending into the square. Red and Black facepaint, and warrior costumes were the attire of the night, it was easy to feel underdressed in a sea of war paint and leather. Drinking horns were clipped to belts and kilts (ie acceptable man skirts), as the Vikings of the city came out to pay tribute to their heroes.

There had been a late announcement only hours before the show that Petri Lindroos was having some painful issues with his hand, and would not be playing guitar that evening. Luckily the day was saved by Jukka Pekka Miettinen (Jukkis) (ex-Ensiferum, ex-Turisas, ex-ArthemesiA) and the sold out show would still occur as scheduled. More...
