KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's video for the band's new single, "The Arms of Sorrow", has been posted online at MySpace. According to the casting call sheet, "this video revolves around a man falling from a high-rise building in slow motion and people reacting to it."
"The Arms of Sorrow" comes off the group's new album, "As Daylight Dies", which has sold 235,000 copies in the United States since its November 21 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD is the follow-up to 2004's Grammy-nominated album "The End of Heartache", and 2005's gold-selling DVD "(Set This) World Ablaze".
Bay Area thrashers LIGHT THIS CITY are nearing completion of the band's current tour alongside Horse The Band, The Number 12 Looks Like You and So Many Dynamos. Continuing to tour virtually non-stop since last summer, LIGHT THIS CITY will follow this tour up with a short run alongside labelmates ALL THAT REMAINS up the West Coast as direct support, and follow that up with yet-to-be-confirmed summer touring plans.
The band recently caught up with PureGrainAudio.com earlier in April in Toronto for an interview, and the video of the interview can be seen here. A few excerpts are available below:
On recording the new album:
"The last album and the first album, ' The Hero Cycle ,' I wrote all the music myself because the guitar players we had at the time didn't really want to write or didn't really know how to write," says drummer Ben Murray. "So, I took that all on myself. Since the new album, having Brian and Steve in the band, after ' Remains of the Gods ' came out, it's really stepped up everything. Brian and I wrote a lot of it, and Steve wrote a few things here and there, but I think everyone in the band finally came together....For me, personally, it was a huge step up from the last album."
On the current tour with Horse The Band , The Number 12 Looks Like You and So Many Dynamos :
"It's weird, because this is the first tour, where we didn't know any of the bands beforehand," frontwoman Laura Nichol says. "All our other tours, we've at least played a show or gone on tour with them [the other bands] or something. Everyone's just getting along so well. Their sets are so entertaining; this is probably the most entertaining tour I've ever been on, in terms of watching the other bands' sets."
On the band's recently completed music video :
"You don't expect, when you see music videos, you don't really see it as demanding," guitarist Brian Forbes says. "It's not crazy, hard work, but it's still basically any shot that you're in, you're playing the whole song and you've got to give it your all." With a chuckle he adds, " Yeah, I got shot in the balls, it was pretty hot."
The video, for the track "The Unwelcome Savior," was helmed by director Soren (Unearth) earlier this spring and the video is available on YouTube or below. The band continues to support it's third record, and second for Prosthetic, ' Facing The Thousand ,' which came out in the fall of 2006.

It was an honour sharing the stage with three of the best bands in the metal scene, and every night was a great experience. The final show in Los Angeles turned out to be a real highlight, with all sort of bizarre and wicked things taking place during the gig. Luckily we had doctors available!" More...

They will play the new album in its entirety on this tour, material that was embraced by fans when the band debuted it here on a mini-tour last November. TRASHLIGHT VISION, the band featuring featuring former MURDERDOLLS guitarist Acey Slade, will audition drummers on May 12 in New York City. According to the group, "The ideal drummer would be influenced by Bret Reed, Chuck Biscuits, Adam Carson, Clem Burke, Dave Grohl, Tommy Lee, and Shannon Larkin. TRASHLIGHT VISION's influences are: THE RAMONES, DEAD KENNEDYS, GUNS N' ROSES, THE DAMNED, old MÖTLEY CRÜE, BOWIE, AGENT ORANGE, THE CULT, THE BRIEFS, MISFITS, SOCIAL D., THE WILDHEARTS, THE BRONX, and REFUSED. In short, we are the punk band the rockers can drink to or the rock band that punks can slam to. A visual drummer, with chops, gear, and a good fuckin' attitude a must! Interested parties should NOT contact the band members, but instead leave a message on the band's MySpace page with the subject 'Drummer'. During this timeframe, TRASHLIGHT VISION will not be missing the two U.S. shows previously booked, or the U.K. tour already booked, and would like their fans to know that they are alive, kicking, and still rockin' like fuck!"
TRASHLIGHT VISION currently has deals in place in the U.S., Japan, and Europe and will record its sophomore effort soon with producer Daniel Rey (MISFITS, RAMONES, D-GENERATION, HELLACOPTERS).
