Pitch Black Records is extremely proud to announce the release of a compilation album featuring bands from Cyprus.
The compilation is titled “Bloodbrothers II – A Compilation of Recordings by Rock/Metal Bands From Cyprus," and it celebrates the legacy of the original “Bloodbrothers” compilation, released in 1997 and now considered a hard-to-find, cult classic. “Bloodbrothers II” is available for pre-order here.
Including power, traditional, thrash, death metal, alternative, progressive, and punk rock, “Bloodbrothers II” aims to showcase some of the most talented bands Cyprus currently has to offer. Pitch Black Records comments:
"The title of the compilation refers to the strong ties between members of the Cyprus scene. It may be a small scene but it is (and has always been) one that is very strong, proud and united, full of passion and support for one another. Turning the phrase 'blood brothers' into one word is a deliberate attempt to further emphasize this strong bond that exists between the members of the Cyprus scene.
"Including new and unreleased material from internationally renowned bands (such as 'Fallen Angels and Lost Souls' of scene veterans Armageddon and Arrayan Path’s 'The Bible Bleeds'), cherished classics from the Cyprus underground and the first exciting blasts from a fresh, new generation, 'Bloodbrothers II' runs the gamut from mega-studio-awesomeness to raw garage demo; but the musicianship and passion are evident throughout this compilation!
"'Bloodbrothers II' will only be available on CD, at a special discounted price. It will be released in Cyprus first, on May 28th and worldwide on June 10th. The first 100 ordered from the Pitch Black Records online store will also include the original 'Bloodbrothers' compilation as a bonus disc! More...

Age of Taurus will release "Desperate Souls of Tortured Times" via Metal Blade Records/Rise Above Records on May 28th in North America. The debut single, "Embrace the Stone," can be heard in the player below. Metal Blade Records also comments:
"Welcome to the Taurean Empire; a decaying land where disease, war and corruption is rife. A wretched place of man and beast, where deception, fear and despair fills every dank alleyway and the stench of suffering drifts across endless, sun-scorched plains. As way of ensuring safe passage through this hellish hour, let us introduce your guides for the journey; four road-hardened mortals, brought together by luck, power and coincidence. Ladies and Gentlemen, take up arms and go safely as Age of Taurus show you a world inhabited by the Desperate Souls of Tortured Times…
"Formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Toby Wright, Age of Taurus was initially a one-man doom metal mission. Inspired by masters of the craft like Candlemass, Trouble and Revelation, the project was intended more as a studio affair rather than something more alive. However, after increasing interest in the band and a succession of glowing reviews of debut demo 'In the Days of the Taurean Empire,' Toby decided that there was no turning back and duly put together a fully working line up; enter bassist Richard Bruce, lead guitarist Alastair Riddell and drummer Darius Claydon. Brooklyn-based Cleantetth this week confirms the band’s most intensive tour to date this May, in advance of a pending debut LP. Dates for the "Crush Your Teeth" tour are available below, and the following press release was issued about the band:
"Cleanteeth's first album Pushing Rope demands attention, with forty-two minutes of sinister doom metal combined with bruising rhythms and raucous swells played on four stacks higher than the tallest band member. Within the first ten seconds of Pushing Rope, thunderous riffs echo out of three guitars while ominous licks force heads to bang with rhythmic precision.
"Fans will recognize influences ranging from Will Haven, KEN Mode, Harkonen and Harvey Milk to Breather Resist, Gaza, and Godflesh, yet Cleanteeth's sound is uniquely its own; a crushingly beautiful array of electric noise and soul-punching drum beats that will make you want to break something and come back frothing at the mouth for more. Pushing Rope will be available on vinyl from Dullest Records in the coming weeks; stay tuned for further details.
"Formed in 2008, Cleanteethis a massive sonic quintet comprised of veterans in the New York metal scene, featuring members of Goes Cube, Hull, Destructo Swarmbots, Godmaker, and White Widows. IWrestledABearOnce has announced the band is almost finished with tracking a forthcoming third studio album, which is due out later this year.
“Well damn! After another two years of non-stop touring, some unexpected twists, and getting to visit some new and amazing places, we're finally back in the studio working on full length number three!,” says guitarist/programmer Steven Bradley. “I've 100% NEVER been this excited about an IWABO album, because it feels like we've finally reigned in "our sound" even further and really hit a stride in terms of songwriting. We've always admired bands like Deftones, Cynic, Thrice, Glassjaw, Mr. Bungle, Dredg, Cephalic Carnage, The Mars Volta, etc because they've never made the same album twice, and aren't scared to keep evolving while still maintaining their signature styles. Obviously I'd never compare us to the greatness of those bands, but, in keeping with that mentality, we've progressed a bit more and put together our best collection of songs so far.
Bradley, who is producing, engineering, mixing and mastering the album himself adds, “the heavy parts are heavier and more interesting, the choruses are stronger, and the 'weird twists' that people have come to expect in our music are way more thought-out than in the past and definitely hit harder than ever. Long story short - we're very excited about getting this album finished and released, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks for listening, and keep in touch with us on our facebook/twitter/etc where we will be posting frequent updates!”
IWABO’s upcoming album will also be the debut of the band’s new scream/sing queen Courtney LaPlante, who joined the band with only a 24 hour notice in between shows on a run with the Warped Tour in 2012.
“Since the day I joined this band, I've been anticipating this album!” says LaPlante. “I was pushed to the limit creatively and technically, and I've never been more proud of myself or my bandmates. We've been through alot this year, and this is the pay-off; the result of our experiences. Most importantly, I think IWABO fans both old and new will really enjoy these songs, and we can't wait to play them live for you this summer!”
Immolation has released a new lyric video for the track "Indoctrinate," taken off the new album "Kingdom of Conspiracy," due out May 10th (EU), May 13th (UK), and May 14th (US).

The Faceless has been out on the road with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Royal Thunder, but recently missed several scheduled appearances. The band has now checked in with the following update about the situation:
"For the past few days we've been stuck in the middle of nowhere outside of Amarillo, Texas due to a vehicle break down. The repairs took much longer than anticipated and we never expected to be stuck here this long.
"We will be missing tonight's show in Buffalo, tomorrow in Pittsburgh and most likely the Philadelphia show. We're very sorry to all the people that wanted to come see us, but this is unfortunately a circumstance beyond our control." More...
Corrosion of Conformity will perform at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona tomorrow night as part of the band's trek with Danzig, which began on April 17th. The short tour allows the trio a momentary break from work on the follow-up to 2012’s self-titled album.
The dates with Danzig follow the band’s recent festival appearance in Santiago, Chile; the band playing The Metal Fest alongside Down, Twisted Sister, Devin Townsend Project and others.
Vocalist/bassist Mike Dean comments, “We took time out from writing and recording to play Chile for the first time. We had a blast hanging out with Down. Of course Pepper [Keenan] played a couple of songs with us and I got to listen to Jimmy Bower and Pat Bruders sing Eagles songs for the entire flight back to the states. We picked up some rented gear in Los Angeles and drove through the desert to start the Danzig tour in Las Vegas. Things have been rolling since then and it has been really good travels. Denver and Albuquerque were particularly awesome. Austin was great too.”
The band’s current set includes a mix of new and old songs, including “Deliverance,” “Priest Brains,” “Strong Medicine Too Late,” “Holier,” “Mad World,” “Hungry Child,” “Technocracy,” plus “Psychic Vampire,” “Your Tomorrow,” and “The Moneychangers” from the 2012 self-titled album. More...

All Dogmas We Hate will release a new EP titled "Astronomical Distances" in May, and a teaser trailer can be found below. The following press release was also issued about the band and the upcoming new release:
"ADWH: four letters for a name which sounds like a mantra 'All Dogmas We Hate.' French metal/hardcore act from Nîmes, this five-piece band didn't want to lose time so after a bunch of fierce and productive work, opened the studio's door in order to record a debut full-length album called 'Back to Reality,' released a few weeks later through M & O Music/Musicast/Twilight Distribution.
"The band got media attention through the metal sphere, collecting positive and constructive critics, and giving the French metal scene an outstanding beginning. Hard workers, the five guys get back in studio in February 2013 to give a follow-up to their debut album with a digital EP called 'Astronomical Distances' expected for the second half of may.
"Darker, heavier and with a modern sound, less metalcore but more personal, ADWH takes a new artistic direction with this new effort before to unleash a second full-length album later this year. In the meantime, some short video teasers are available on ADWH Youtube's channel." More...

The video contains 2 parallel stories, one with the band playing in the chapel and one where you can follow 'The Evangelist' and his flock of sheeps."
The video was filmed and directed by Ronny Hemlin at ProVid film. A new music video has been posted online from Aliases for the new single "Exasperated," which showcases the talents of new vocalist Joe Rosser. Joe is now hard at work in the studio with the band, recording vocals for Aliases' forthcoming debut album, set for release on Basick Records later this year.
Comments new vocalist Joe: "It's been great to bond with a group of musicians with the same sort of outlook on music as me. I think the moment we shared ideas we gelled together really well. Not only that but the fact that they are such great people to be around, we have become good friends. Working on the single has been so much fun. From laying down ideas to progressing it to a full length song, it more or less took its course and the rest of the bend felt what I added gave it a better twist than they anticipated. Recording the video was insane. Lack of sleep, lots of energy drinks and a huge office block with a DIY bedroom set.... It couldn't have been more surreal! Ben Herbert who directed it was so sound to work with and brought out the best in the ideas we had for the visual aspect of it all. I've admired the band for some time and never thought I could match the standard, but it seems this time I proved myself wrong and I am looking forward to a progressive future with Aliases. It's gonna be a blast!"
Catch Joe's first gig with Aliases in Manchester with label mates The Algorithm on April 27th. The band will also be appearing at UK Tech Fest in Peterborough 11-15th July. More...
