Belgium death grinders ABORTED have issued the following tour update:
“Hey everyone, just a small update regarding the MACHINES OF GRIND tour we just started with our friends from ROTTEN SOUND. As we all know the package should have been completed by THE RED CHORD and THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH. Unfortunately, it seems the lord is not on our side and this whole volcano mess in Iceland, and the flight ban that followed, made it impossible for our American partners in crime to join the package. This left us struggling with what to do for several days, cancel the whole tour because we were facing increasing financial losses daily, or just grind on and say fuck it, no goddamn volcano is going to stop ROTTEN SOUND or ABORTED and Avocado Booking."
"Since we are all proud warriors and there is nothing we hate doing more than disappointing our fans, cancelling was not an option and we decided to move forward with the tour, being just ABORTED and ROTTEN SOUND in a co-headlining run with each day having the best local bands the promoters can offer :). This has been a very harsh start of the tour and we hope that we can count on all of you fans to make this DIY FUCK THE VOLCANO tour a blast, so show up as many and support the bands who are putting their asses on the line to show up every day." The second track is a cover from the mighty Majesty from the U.S. It's the track called 'Bestial Vomit' from the 1988 demo. Minnesota's Iron Thrones, who recently won the "No Labeled Needed" contest, has checked in with the following update about recording their new album:
"Well ladies and gentlemen, Iron Thrones is officially back in Minnesota. With tracking for the album complete, and mixing underway, I feel like I can finally decompress and start to reflect on what the hell just happened. So much of the last month has been so far out of the realm of possibility, I’m still not completely convinced that the whole thing wasn’t just some crazy dream. Granted, as a guy that generally walks, bikes, or drives wherever I need to go, the fact that I flew across the country at hundreds of miles per hour is enough to boggle the mind in and of itself, as common as it might be to some. But even aside from the time zone change and significantly different scenery, the experiences we had on this trip changed a lot of things, both personally and in terms of how the band operates. Even the way we express ourselves through our music has likely changed, although not in a dishonest or completely unnatural fashion.
"Of course, as a band who touts themselves as 'striv[ing] to express ourselves honestly and completely through our music, so that we may deeply connect with people all over the world,' it’s important for me to say that our goal hasn’t changed. Everything on the record we made came from us, and was performed by ourselves. That said, we did essentially have a fifth member of the band on this record, acting as a sort of sagely guide to help us along our path, personified by one Will Putney (our producer). Because of his influence, parts of the songs on this record are very likely different than they would have been had he not been there. I realize that this is likely tripping some rather prickly triggers in some peoples’ minds, and so I will elaborate and explain this apparent contradiction in philosophies. More...
Strange Flesh has checked in with the following update about parting ways with their second guitarist and beginning work on a new EP:
"Strange Flesh are happy to announce that they've started writing for the upcoming ep 'the beautiful dead.' Results are interesting and challenging so far. Definitely Strange Flesh. Brett Evans is no longer in the band. 'nuff said. We've decided to forgo the 2nd guitarist and just stay a 3 piece. Better for everyone involved. The band has pulled several shows due to promoter lack of communication skills. Warned before about not confirming properly before we haul ass across the country. Not gonna happen on our watch. If you haven't confirmed, Strange Flesh ain't showing.
"The band also is semi-retiring from playing out. A lackluster local scene filled with tired clicks and thankless bands (whom we've given many a show to, never returned) has helped this decision. Frankly, might be cover band time (side gig, relax) again. Making music is the focus right now. We will appear on an occasional bill, so we won't be too far gone. Besides, we kick much ass live, so, why not? Enjoy your scene, fellow locals...you've earned it!"

MOTLEY CRUE singer Vince Neil has signed to Frontier Records for the release of his upcoming solo album, “Tattoos and Tequila,” due for release on June 4th in Europe. The album’s title track will be released as a digital download and will be available April 16th in Europe at all digital shops. The music video along with the single was made available for download earlier this year and can be seen below.
Vince Neil recorded the new album in the winter of 2009 together with his band, formed by bassist Dana Strum, guitarist Jeff Blando (both of Slaughter) and drummer Zoltan Chaney. The album will include two new songs: “Tattoos and Tequila” and “Another Bad Day,” both produced by Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Def Leppard etc), plus a selection of classic cuts from some of the rock giants that have influenced Vince Neil throughout his musical career. The cover songs were produced by Vince and Jack Blades (Damn Yankees, Night Ranger).
In a recent interview Vince Neil stated: “This album has nothing to do with Motley Crue, Tattoos and Tequila is basically my life” and definitely the new record shows a new, yet familiar side of Vince’s abilities.
The “Tattoos and Tequila” tracklisting will include:
Tattoos & Tequila (Album Version)
He's A Whore (Cheap Trick)
Nobody's Fault (Aerosmith)
Another Bad Day
No Feelings (Sex Pistols)
Long Cool Woman (The Hollies)
