Today the metal hooligans at MetalSucks want you to scrape your face across the pavement with a full stream of "Bloodlines" from Rhode Island audio arsonists Howl. Check out the release right here or through the player below.
Set for North American release next week, the ever-bludgeoning "Bloodlines" was recorded at Planet Z Studio in Hadley, Massachusetts with Chris “Zeuss” Harris. Comments the band nonchalantly: “Bloodlines is the child of sweet southern riffs and a dirty gorilla with big dirty gorilla balls."
"Bloodlines" will be available in North America via Relapse Records on April 30th, April 26th in Germany and Benelux, and April 29 in the U.K. and rest of Europe. More...
In late 2012/early 2013, the members of Blood Ceremony enclosed themselves within a dank, tomb-like chamber to begin preparations for their third album.
After a mind-numbing spell in the analogue womb of Toronto's ProGold Studios, the band is now ready to unveil a new musical offering: "The Eldritch Dark." The debut single, "Goodbye Gemini," can be heard now through the player below.
Recorded and mixed by producer Ian Blurton (Cauldron, Cursed) and mastered by Nick Blagona (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Crazy World of Arthur Brown), "The Eldritch Dark" is a full-length paean to the darker corners of folklore and legend. Containing eight tracks of black magic rock 'n' roll, the album crackles with the excitement of a nocturnal ritual.
"The Eldritch Dark" will be released via Metal Blade Records/Rise Above Records in North America on May 28th, 2013. Blood Ceremony will be joining Kylesa on tour in North America throughout May and June (dates available below). More...
The pride of Finland, Amorphis began in the earliest days of the extreme metal scene and is still going strong decades later. The band has weathered vocalist changes and gone through a series of major style shifts to reach where it is today with latest album "Circle" (reviewed here).
"Circle" is out now in Europe and due in North American shops on April 30th. Fans wanting to find out about the inner workings of Amorphis during the creation of the album can now get an inside view of the process courtesy of guitarist Esa Holopainen. Read our interview with Esa below to discover how the lyrical themes have changed, what's happening with music videos from the album, and how a few recording changes offered a different sound for this latest full-length. Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and vocalist Jesse Leach were interviewed by KaaosTV before the band's show at The Circus in Helsinki, Finland on April 16th, 2013. Check out the video clip below.
Supernatural Cat -- the Italian underground label run by Malleus Rock Art Lab, the artist collective featuring two members of the psychedelic doom trio Ufomammut -- will harvest Zole’s self-titled debut LP worldwide on May 13th.
With song titles entrenched in references to redneck living, the newest Zolle single “Heavy Letam” is suggestive of “Letame” -- which means manure in Italian -- resulting in “a shitty anagram about heavy metal.”
Take a whiff of the riffs of “Heavy Letam,” alongside the previously dispatched “Trakthor,” now via Invisible Oranges or the player below.

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of Dutch death metal legends Thanatos. The label comments:
"Thanatos borrows their name from the Greek god of death and is one of the oldest and longest running extreme metal bands from the Netherlands. Founded in 1984, Thanatos has released numerous critically acclaimed albums during their career. Be it the infamous debut album, Emerging From The Netherworlds, the equally great second output, Realm Of Ecstasy, (both of which were re-released by Century Media Records on CD and LP in 2012) or the band's last studio work, Justified Genocide, Thanatos has always managed to deliver high-class death metal laced with a lethal dose of thrash.
"Featuring guitar player, Paul Baayens (Asphyx, Hail of Bullets), Century Media originally approached Thanatos for a series of re-issues in 2012, so it only made sense that the band made their future home at Century Media." More...

White Wizzard has revealed the artwork for upcoming new album, "The Devils Cut," which is due to be released on June 3rd in Europe via Earache Records, and June 25th in the USA via Century Media/Earache Records.
"The Devils Cut" is the band's third full-length release, and features artwork by Cameron Davis, who is known for his work as lead character designer and illustrator for the Guitar Hero video game series. White Wizzard bassist and mainman Jon Leon comments:
"It was great to work with the amazing artist Cameron Davis again, who also did the art for our album 'Over the Top.' Cameron and I live in the same building here in LA and he is a really talented guy. When he presented me the piece for the album cover, I knew right away it was the one. It has amazing imagery and depth and is very artful, while making a tongue-in-cheek statement poking some fun at organized religion, which is something I feel strongly about.
"Some of my lyrics on this album and previous albums focus on not letting religion and the cult of group belief blind you from the preservation of thinking for yourself and being an individual, so it ties into that very well, as the statement of the piece is how religion is imprisonment for the soul and how, even within its own confines, it forces its believers into blind group submission. I think any of us that went to catholic school as a child can relate to that nun!!! It has 'classic metal cover' all over it and it just blew my mind.
"I look forward to this imagery being out there and am proud to have it be a part of White Wizzard. To have art of this quality to convey the visual aspects of the band is just fantastic." More...

"Breaking out onto the music scene with a style that’s completely their own, Sheffield (UK) born and bred quartet Inherit The Stars are an explosion of sound that should not be missed. With all four members already being well-aquainted with the stage, their live shows ooze energy, creating an impressive gigging experience.
"Listing some of their major influences as bands such as Fightstar, Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari and Chiodos, Inherit The Stars are most recognisable for their powerful rock riffs, lulling string arrangements, adrenaline-filled synth lines and distinctive choruses. Not only do they boast an up-and-coming full-length album due to be released early 2013, but they boast an album recorded by Jim Pinder at Treehouse Studios. Treehouse has also been the home of many well-known bands, including big names such as Rise To Remain, While She Sleeps, and Fightstar.

Sweden's Feral has checked in with the following album update and announcement about lineup changes:
"We are thrilled to announce that the pre-productions of the next Feral album are done. More than enough songs have been written/recorded during these sessions for us to be able to put together one hell of an album to say the least.
"You can check out some of our recording process below in the eminent studio documentary that was filmed and edited by Cristoffer Strand.
"News regarding the actual recording of the album will be announced as soon as they are available, needless to say we now feel completely up for the task that lays ahead and are fully confident about the material that we have in store for you guys.
"These pre-productions were however the last recordings that drummer Rickard Lundmark and guitarist Petter Nilsson will do with the band, as we have decided to part ways. This is due to other commitments and there is absolutely no bad blood between the band and the two former members.
"Of course we are sad to see two of the founding members (as well as two of our best friends) leave. But we wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors and know that they will in some way or another always be part of that which is Feral.
"There is however no reason to be alarmed as this will in no way slow down the future plans of the band and our goals stays the same. For the time being Roger Markström (Leviathan, ex-Armagedda) will be aiding us from behind the drums and the search for a guitar player is ongoing. We thank you all for your support, stay tuned!" After having released the band's first ever video clip for the song "Psuchagogia" in late 2012, AntropomorphiA returns to the front with a second clip from the album "Evangelivm Nekromantia."
The "Debauchery In Putrefaction" video can now be viewed in the player below. Metal Blade also comments:
"With an album banning hanging over their heads, the easiest road for the band to proceed with the project of a new videoclip would have been by providing the criticizers with exactly what they want: An overdose of gore balancing in between art and kitsch, stirring things up just the right amount. Instead, the band chose to take a different approach. Opposed to a gore obsessed videoclip, which would have been too easy, it was decided to leave a respectable amount of room for people's own imagination. Interesting to know what the very same criticizers would make of this in their own minds. AntropomorphiA once again worked with Maurice Swinkels for this video clip."
Vocalist/guitarist Ferry comments: "'Evangelivm Nekromantia' transcends further and represents much more than what critics call a gore based story, so to us the logical continuation to portray that story is one with a more darker view."
AntropomorphiA will be performing on Neurotic Deathfest 2013 and Extremefest 2013 in May. More live appearances will be announced in given time. More...
It's now more than a decade since Edenbridge first created a stir with the launch of debut "Sunrise In Eden" back in 2000. Latest album "The Bonding" sees the group from Austria underline its status in melodic metal and puts an end to the group's creative hiatus of almost three difficult years.
"We had to come to terms with a number of personal setbacks, which is why the production of the album took longer than originally scheduled," explains guitarist and main songwriter Lanvall, who among other things suffered the loss of his father due to suicide. In addition, Edenbridge underwent an unexpected line-up change: bassist Simon Holzknecht had to be replaced by Wolfgang Rothbauer (Disbelief, Zombie Inc.).
"The initial ideas were developed as early as 2010, immediately after the release of Solitaire, but due to our private trials and tribulations it took us until autumn 2012 to conclude the recordings for our new album," Lanvall looks back at taxing months marked by one ambitious goal: to complement the new album by a real orchestra in order to support the material's symphonic direction. "Our style has always had an unmistakably symphonic quality," says Lanvall, "so the only question was: how do we finance a big orchestra?" More...
