A pure and true moment of music. We are also in talks with some long-running and highly regarded studios for us to expand our universe even further." More...
Miami's BLACK TIDE has issued the following update:
"We just got back home from a very successful headlining tour in the U.K. with GLAMOUR OF THE KILL supporting us, and they were fucking awesome! They're really cool guys and you should all check them out. Before we went to the U.K. we spent a month out on tour with ALL THAT REMAINS and we had a great time with them. We did a small headlining run right after our album came out and all of you that came out to shows were fucking awesome and we had an amazing time playing for you."
"Right now our plans are to take about three weeks off from touring, so that we can rest just a little bit before we go out and tour for tour for the remainder of the year. We will be heading back overseas for the entire month of June and we will be playing festivals all over Europe, and we are totally stoked to get to play in new countries. When we come back from Europe we will have about three days off and then we will be going out on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour with SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED, MASTODON, DRAGONFORCE, UNDEROATH, MACHINE HEAD, and about 11 other great fucking bands. We are so excited to be a part of this summer tour and we can't even wait to get out there." More...
Angelo Espino, who has previously played with HIRAX, REVEREND, DISSINTER, UNCLE SLAM, ONCE DEAD, VERMIN and LSN, and many others, has joined OSM recording artists ANGER AS ART.
Commented the band in a statement: "This was a coup for us to get someone of his caliber. We knew that a change was going to happen with Javier [Maruffo]. However, the timetable was moved up very rapidly in March. It came to our attention that Angelo was available and interested, so we made him an offer. Angelo and Dave [Chedrick, drums] played together in what we thought was HIRAX's best lineup — so they have that rhythm section vibe already in place, and it really shows when we play live. We wish Javier the best, and we part as friends and family." More...

Controversial UK dark art practitioners AKERCOCKE have scheduled a June 5 performance at The Barfly in Birmingham, England. Support at the gig will come from LEFT TO BLEED and SCORCHED DEITY.
AKERCOCKE's music video for the song "Axiom" can be viewed here. The clip was directed by Erica Herbert of HSI London (NIRVANA, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE). Her surrealist vision is the perfect compliment to AKERCOCKE's brutally beautiful sound. Deemed "a unique and beautiful visual outing" by frontman Jason Mendonca, "Axiom" leaves the realm of mere music video and enters the realm of pure art.
"Axiom" comes off AKERCOCKE's latest release, "Antichrist". Rated a 9 in Decibel magazine, "Antichrist" is yet another step forward in AKERCOCKE's ever-evolving journey into darkness. More...
Seventh Rule Recordings has officially announced the addition of Wetnurse to its roster. Seventh Rule Recordings owner Scott Flaster describes Wetnurse:
"The urgency of early hardcore; the aggro, off-kilter noise of the AmRep heyday; the raw, outcast power of early death metal; the melodic transcendence of classic rock... All these influences exist within Wetnurse's music, yet theirs is something totally new and
The band self-released an album in 2004. Meanwhile, their Seventh Rule debut, titled "Invisible City," was recorded and mixed by Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Helmet) at Brooklyn's B.C. Probably HACKNEYED are also the youngest death metal act on the planet as the average age of the band members is just 16 years (guitarist Devin being just 14 years old!), but already shredding and grooving as hell - mark these words!"
Being founded in 2007 the band has already achieved to play an amount of successful shows as well as draw attention from several bigger bands and also of Achim Ostertag (organizer of Germany's Summer Breeze festival and CEO of Silverdust Records), who presented the band to the deeply impressed Nuclear Blast staff that signed them right away.

Since their inception in early 2006, Indiana's Phantom Witch have carved themselves a niche combining the influences of traditional heavy metal, NWOBHM and the riffage of speed metal. The buzz created by their self-released four-song demo caught the attention of New York's Heavy Artillery Records, with whom Phantom Witch have teamed up to release their self-titled debut, a vinyl-only six-song Mini LP. The mini-LP will be limited to 500 copies and available exclusively from independent record stores, the band's live shows and directly from the label.
Founding members Rick Cope (vocals and bass) and David Phelps (guitars) met when Rick was first drawn to the sound of Phelps' shrieking guitar solos emanating from the amp room at Guitar Works in Greenwood, Indiana. The duo was joined by Bob Fouts behind the drum kit and Phantom Witch as we know it was born. Culling their influences by bands such as Slayer, Running Wild, Sodom and Jag Panzer, Phantom Witch quickly made a name for themselves with their unique metal attack, opening for local and national headliners such as The Gates of Slumber, Merciless Death, Skeleton Witch and Demiricous. Look for Phantom Witch on tour in late summer 2008, dates coming soon.
The self titled mini LP from Phantom Witch will hit streets on June 10th 2008.

“We have been huge fans of the band since the last record came out and we are extremely excited to work with the band,” Guy Kozowyk, BMA owner, said. “We are currently scheming ways to honor—or at least do something cool—for those who initially pre-ordered through their MySpace before BMA was involved.”
The band is as equally excited as Kozowyk about inking a deal with BMA:
"Trying to get this EP out has been a sizable pain in the ass so far. Since we recorded it last year we’ve written a few more songs that we think people might want to hear, so we're going to go back into the studio in the coming months….It really blows that it's taken so long, but hopefully we don't disappoint with the full length."

Guitar World spoke exclusively with Slash in New York on April 17th, while he was in town to perform a benefit show with Tom Morello, Jerry Cantrell and Perry Farrell.
The guitarist discussed VELVET REVOLVER’s split with singer Scott Weiland: “We had gotten to that point where we were resigned to the fact that we weren’t going to be working with Scott anymore, even before we left for the last leg of the tour,” says Slash. “So when he said all that stuff onstage [at a gig in Scotland Weiland announced to fans that they were witnessing the group’s last tour] we were sort of surprised. Because we had no intention of breaking the band up. It might have been the last show for him, but it wasn’t the last show for Velvet Revolver."
On the fact that Weiland released a statement alleging “certain individuals” were singing along with him onstage: “Scott was under the impression that our drum tech was singing during the set, which was why he walked offstage at that show. We convinced him that wasn’t happening, but then the next night he said that Matt [Sorum] was doing it. He was firmly convinced that was happening, which it wasn’t.”

"However, my next endeavor is 3 Mile Scream's East Coast Massacre tour which will bring us back to the Maritimes for a much more complete and extensive run than our last tour. Australian extreme metallers, Aeturnus Dominion, welcomes their new guitarist Jono Caelli on their MySpace page:
"Former Dead Intent shredder Jono Caelli is the newest recruit to the Aeturnus Dominion legacy. Jono and ex AD vocalist, Jesse Aiken were both in Dead Intent in the early 90s until the bands unfortunate demise."
"Jono has continued writing and recording material in his home studio and is keen to get back into a band situation and playing live again. We had conversed about becoming a member of AD prior to Morbid joining and we are fortunate he is still keen to do it. In hindsight we obviously made the wrong choice."
"Unsure whether Jono will be up to speed for our next gig on the 17th of May at the Woodport Inn, we are hoping and striving to play the gig as a full band. If this is not obtainable then we will perform as a 4 piece."
"Welcome to the madness bro!"

Also, it's a real fucking honor to do these dates with GOREAPHOBIA They are by far one of my favorite bands from the early '90s era, and hold legendary status as far as I'm concerned . This makes it all the more KILLER!"
"Speaking of a real honor," comments ESTUARY's lead vocalist Zdenka Prado, "We are extremely pleased to announce that Jack Owen will once again be handling bass duties on this trek. Jack did an awesome job on the Balkans Assassination, tour and we are thankful to have him on board once again. These shows will definitely kick ass! I can't wait to share the front lines with the Canadian maniacs in some non-stop head thrashing action."
Jack Owen states: "I'm honored once again to be sharing the stage with my friends, and thrash death maniacs ESTUARY! Also thrilled to head to the great white north and see the many fans and friends from over the years! It's a short tour, but should be full of blast beats and mystery meat! Joining them are Brigade, Exit Ten, Comeback Kid, Valient Thorr, Chiodos, Animal Alpha, August Burns Red, Rose Tattoo and Hostile."
Sweden's Burst (Linus Jagerskog – vocals, Jesper Liverod – bass and vocals, Patrik Hultin – drums, Jonas Rydberg – guitar, Robert Reinholdz – guitar and vocals) has entered Studio Bohussound in Kungalv, Sweden to record their new full-length album, "Lazarus Bird."
"Lazarus Bird," the follow-up album to 2006's acclaimed Origo, is being recorded once again with engineer Fredrik Reinedahl (Opeth, In Flames). Advance song titles include: "I Hold Vertigo", "We Are Dust", "Momentum", "Nineteenhundred", "Cripple God", "We Watched The Silver Rain", and "I Exterminate The I". Lazarus Bird is expected to see a Fall 2008 release date.
Burst spent the greater part of 2007 writing and rehearsing material for Lazarus Bird. The band commented on the process: "We are confident that the end result will be worth all this work and end up in an album that we feel is the absolute most accomplished effort we've ever been able to squeeze from our system."
Most Precious Blood is currently in the studio recording their fourth album, "Do Not Resuscitate." Tracking is taking place at The Wild Arctic in Long Island City, NY with engineer Dean Baltulonis (Sick Of It All), who also recorded the band's previous two albums.
Guitarist Justin Brannan says of the new material, "While all our spineless contemporaries reach for the stars we've returned to our roots. The new songs are short, fast, hard and mean. We wrote an album to remind us of the stuff we grew up on; the music that got us into hardcore when we were teenagers. We harnessed that raw energy and power; the unbridled passion of those days at CBGB's and basements and VFW Halls across the country, sleeping on concrete floors and shoplifting for fun; back when it felt like you were really part of something different. We've checked the rock n' roll ambitions and delusional fantasies at the door and wrote a hardcore record like only we knew how."
Vanmakt has signed a new deal to extend their relationship with extreme metal label Pulverised Records. The band's second album, entitled “Ad Luciferi Regnum,” will be recorded in June or July at EPM Studios with Björn Lindgren as the engineer and producer. “Ad Luciferi Regnum” will contain nine songs of "blasting torment and hatred." The layout will be done by Alex at 3XXX Design.
You can find a pre-recorded version of “Brethren Of Lucifer” on the band's Myspace player and this song will also be featured on the new album with some minor changes.
Sacramento hardcore outfit Trash Talk has parted ways with their drummer, Sam. The band explains: "He is unable to continue with us due to some personal troubles. We wish him the best with his future endeavors and hope that he is able to bounce back from his tribulations."
