Leaves' Eyes recently spent a few weeks on the road touring Europe alongside Kamelot. The band has now checked in with the following tour recap:
"After several weeks of touring through Europe together with Kamelot and traveling almost 20.000 kilometers by bus we are back at home enjoying the spring weather. The last highlight of this tour was the amazing sold out show in Oslo/Norway at Sentrum Scene. Yes, Leaves' Eyes back in Norway! Friends and people from Liv's family joined the show, which made the evening a real home gig for our Norwegian singer. Besides that, the Kamelot and Leaves' Eyes crew teamed up and organized a kind of Spinal Tap surprise for our last gig of this tour. During the performance of 'Elegy' a little viking ship came down from the roof of the venue to stop right above Rolands drum kit. Of course everybody onstage felt reminded of the tiny little stone henge building in the Spinal Tap movie.
"Thanx to Kamelot's and our crew for making us laugh like hell. Soon after the show we started the 30 hours journey back home. Due to the Iceland volcano eruption all ferries were packed to the maximum and the traffic in general was massive. Thank god for being in a tour bus including refrigerators, coffee machines, DVD players and Playstations. This tour was very successful for all the bands. It was great to play a lot of shows in many European metropoles, making and meeting new friends and fans. See you all in the European summer festival season and we will come back to Northamerica with Kamelot as well"
Weedeater has issued the following tour recap and announcement about postponing their recording sessions:
"Hey all, we have some good news and (as per usual) some bad news. First, the good news; it was an amazing tour! Thanks to all the people who came out and supported us and the other bands on all 3 legs of this trek (big hails to ASG, US Christmas, Black Cobra, Black Tusk, The Gates of Slumber, Struck by Lightning, & Sack Wild!) and thanks to all the great clubs and promoters who helped to make everything so awesome for all of us. Now for the bad news: Keko has just torn his meniscus to the point of immobility and needs immediate orthopedic surgery on his knee.
"Consequently, we regret to say that we must once again postpone the recording session at EA and the surrounding live performances in April and May. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to all involved and will notify you ASAP regarding rescheduling. Thanks for your patience and understanding and please wish Keko a speedy recovery. Keko goes in for surgery next week and we'll know more then, but as it stands the June - July European tour is still 100% on. More news soon but that's all for now."
Spanish melodic death metal band Darkness By Oath has issued the following update regarding their debut of their latest music video:
"Here we are again with some good news for you all. First off, here's a new DBO videoclip filmed a couple of weeks ago by our good friend David Zabala from paneo360 (www.paneo360.com) It was done at our tiny rehearsal room and we used the track 'My own Mind' from our latest album 'Fear Yourself.' We can't thank David enough for such a good work, it was really fun recording the vid while we were rehearsing our live set, hope it's not the last time, Thanks bro!"
"This same day we did the photo shots for the forthcoming album and whatnot. Lots of pics were taken and you'll have the chance to see them when they're ready. Photo and video crew consisted in Nahikari, David, Argi, Nuria and Mr Osito who brought some amount of stuff you couldn't even imagine, hahaha."
"We're working on the two forthcoming gigs and the next album as you read this. Rehearsals are doing great, and we're really looking forward for that shows as it's quite some time since we played our last gig. Regarding the new album, Tris has come up with some excellent riffs so far, and all the song structures are mostly finished. Next album will probably include 12 tracks, and some cool surprises that we'll reveal when the time is right, haha." More...
Chile's MAR DE GRISES has announced their singing to Season of Mist. The band's third full-length album should be released later this year.
"We are very happy about this deal with Season of Mist", the band comments. "For a young band like Mar de Grises, it is really exciting to be part of an impressive roster with big names such as Morbid Angel, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mayhem and Cynic, among many others. We are also proud to be the first Ibero-American band working with this company. It is an important motivation to continue composing this kind of music on the other side of the world, in Chile. This partnership with Season of Mist represents a big step for us. It is exactly what we were looking for, as it enables us to share our music with more metalheads than ever before! We are nearly done composing the new album and are about to start the recording process. We couldn't wish for a better incentive than to know we will have the best support for our upcoming campaigns. We can't wait to come back to Europe!"
Canadian speed metal band Striker has issued the following update regarding their cancellation of their European tour:
"Hi guys, unfortunately the rumours are true, our flight was cancelled due to the volcano in Iceland and we are unable to re-book in time for the Keep it True festival this weekend or any of the other European tour dates. We regret that because of the cancellation of these dates we will also be unable to play the Pounding Metal festival in Madrid on May 8. We are obviously very disappointed as we’ve been looking forward to this for over a year. But what can you do, it’s a fucking volcano..."
"A big thank you to Oliver at Keep it true, everyone at Pounding Metal Union in Spain and our label Iron Kodex for all the hard work they put into making these tour dates possible."
"Our new album 'Eyes in the Night' is being released this Friday at the Keep it True festival and we plan to book a new European tour in support of this as soon as possible."
Forced to miss its European tour with Rotten Sound and Aborted due to the effects of the recent volcano in Iceland, The Red Chord has lined up two shows for fans on the East Coast. The shows are as follows:
April 24 - New England Metal and Hardcore Fest in Worcester, MA
April 25 - Brooklyn, NY - Public Assembly with Premonitions Of War and Tiger Flowers.
Kozowyk offers this explanation about the European tour, "We did everything we could to make it to this European tour with Rotten Sound and Aborted. Unfortunately, our best efforts couldn't get The Red Chord or Those Who Lie Beneath onto the continent until it was far too late. The remainder of the tour is uncertain, but if Rotten Sound and Aborted continue with the rest of it, we strongly advise and appreciate your support of the remaining shows. We will do our best to make up shows before the end of the year and we thank the bands, agents and fans for their patience and understanding during this ridiculous situation."

Johan of Swedish metallers One Man Army and the Undead Quartet has issued the following album update:
"It´s been quite a while since the last update and I truly appologise for that.
"However, here it comes:
"We´ve been really busy writing material for the fourth Army album. An album which we intend to record sometime during October/November this year. We are currently working on 12 songs but the final product will probably include 8-10 songs. Most likely 8.
"The cool thing is that Jonas has written most of the songs. He´s just been in the band for not even a year and already he has all these killer songs. They sound pretty epic and a bit different to what we´ve done in the past. A new strength and energy has been brought into the machine and we haven´t felt this powerful in years.
"We haven´t decided on artwork or title yet but there will be a new vibe concerning the new Army album for sure. We´ve done 3 full length albums with the same cover over and over again and it´s time for a change. It´s time for General Grim to take a rest.
The whole vibe will illustrate a more darker atmoshere as well as lyrics and music.
"Some titles are: Sandman apocalypse, Inside the head of God, How I love to kill you, The pleasures of slavery
"Can´t wait to play some tunes for you! It will slay!!!! Stay tuned for more info."
Arch Enemy has issued the following announcement about postponing their U.K. tour dates due to the air travel situation in Europe:
"Sorry to all our great UK fans, but the tour we had scheduled for next week has unfortunately been postponed 'til November 2010. As we all know, it's been a tough time in Europe with the volcanic ash shutting down airspace in 23 countries and causing travel misery for millions of people. One minute airports are open - the next they are not. We are determined to make these shows work but don't want to disappoint our fans, so it has been mutually agreed upon that the best way forward is to postpone the UK dates 'til November. The NEW dates are: November 23 - Manchester @ Academy 2, November 24 - Glasgow @ Garage, November 25 - Wolverhampton @ Wulfrun Hall, November 27 - London @ The Forum.
"All tickets will remain valid for the postponed dates. We'd like to thank all of the promoters who took on the shows, and also the support bands — everything was shaping up very nicely and their professionalism is obvious. We appreciate their willingness to make these shows happen later in 2010 and we're more eager than ever to do so. It's important to make it clear that this is not a cancellation — we just have to move the tour to a different time. Sorry again to all who planned to attend. Hope to see you in November!"
German Gothic metallers Atargatis have checked in with the following update about streaming an old song online from their 2004 demo album:

German folk metal act Equilibrium has issued the following update about streaming a new song online and shooting a music video:
"We just posted another new song called 'Der ewige Sieg' here on MySpace! We will also shoot a video for this song which comes off our upcoming album 'Rekreatur!' 'Der ewige Sieg' is about the renewal of nature and mankind at the turn of the year which also is connected to the album title. The video clip for that song will be directed by Florian Puchert. He’s an old friend of the band since I composed the music for some of his movies. Now we’re turning tables and he does the flick for our music. Other than our last video we won’t have that many digital effects in it rather than going for a more organic and realistic look. He and his team have tons of good ideas and we are looking forward to work with him! 'Rekreatur' is set to be released on June 18 via Nuclear Blast!"

Sweden's Descend has issued the following update about working on new material:
"Good evening! It's been a while.. we haven't been rehearsing a lot. Most of our time is spent elaborating on the new material and started recording the pre production. We've completed guitar tracks for four of them bitch ass songs and tomorrow Andreas and Justin will have a smaller session of bass recording.
"If we're fortunate they will not only eat curry and drink beer but record a whole lot as well. Everything is proceeding just fine and we're all really happy with the songs we've got and those that we are still working on. I guess I will update you at least one more time before I cut myself out of reality and become one with the books and notepads to prepare for the examinations in late may. 'Til then - enjoy!"
Maryland based death metal act Torture Therapy has issued the following update about streaming a new song online:
"We've finally returned after several months. Unfortunately, those months were spent battling through our own torture spent at the studio trying to get the tracks we had worked on in August 2009. However, despite the grief, we were able to salvage some of the tracks, and, of those, we present ‘A Wolf Among Sheep,’ which is a pretty fitting tune to start our listeners with.
"It was saddening to be asked repeatedly, ‘When can I listen to the Torture CD?’ and have to begrudgingly answer, ‘Who knows...?’ Finally, after the long wait, the CD is ready. Ask us for our audio rehab at any show and we'll be happy to supply if you have a valid prescription. The album will contain 8 tracks.
"We'd like to thank our original bass player, Tim Canalichio, for being part of our practice and for adding his unique touch to the low end thump of TTx. We'd also like to thank Jentiel from Transcending, formerly of Social Grudge, for offering her amazing vocal services on two of the tracks on the album - Yes, Jen, I was able to save those tracks! All the support has been greatly appreciated. And, after all this time, we're ready to slay the stage again!"

Swedish metal band ISTAPP is currently preparing to unleash the band's Metal Blade Records debut "Blekinge" on June 8th in the US and Canada. Blekinge comes from the adjective bleke that corresponds to the nautical term for "dead calm."
"We are confident that the piece of deadly art about to strike down on you all will be the first really true metal-album ever to be released to this world" comments the band on its upcoming release.
Cover art was handled by C. Ashuck von Renvaktar.
"Out of his memories Lord Ashuck himself created a picture of Blekinge and its oak, fore-saying the inevitable path this world must wander. It will certainly hurt the eyes of many a sun-worshiper who dare to look upon it." More...
California technical grindcore band EMBRYONIC DEVOURMENT is currently touring alongside Sepsism on the Hymns Of The Extreme tour. Said vocalist/bassist loudly, "Oklahoma fucking slays! Brutal moshpits, good beer and people who really care about the death metal scene. Also, NYDM has been really helpful to us along the way. We're having a blast! Sepsism are our kind of scum -- really good dudes."
The band's next full-length will be titled "Vivid Enterpretations Of The Void." The follow-up to 2007's Fear Of Reality Exceeds Fantasy is based on the "Reptilian Agenda," a theory popularized by controversial English writer/public speaker David Icke. At the heart of his theories lies the idea that a secret group of reptilian humanoids called the Babylonian Brotherhood created and controls humanity, and that many prominent figures are reptilian. Commented Spence, "The new songs have a heavy reptilian theme and crush our previous releases into the ground. Expect fast grinding drums and enough technicality to rip your face off. This release would be best received by fans of early Cryptopsy, Cephalic Carnage, and Spawn Of Possession." Check out "Militarized Reptoids" and "Darken Thy Fluids" on the band's official MySpace Page. More...
