Norwegian black metallers 1349 will be unable to make the first few shows on Cannibal Corpse's "Evisceration Plague Tour" that kicked off today in Orlando, Florida. 1349 commented: "Unfortunately, we will have to let all our fans know that we will not be able to make it to the first shows of the tour with Cannibal Corpse. Black metal act Order of the Blackguard has issued the following update about the cover artwork for an upcoming album:
"Sisters of Doom, Brothers of Gloom. Whilst ATR is finishing up mixing 'The way of cross and dragon' (He humbly assures us its not too far off now) We'd like to take this opportunity to proudly draw your attention to the artwork that shall adorn the albums front cover. Its by the painfully talented artist, Rafael Garrido from Granada, Spain Who has kindly allowed us to use this stunning image which encapsulates the feel and vibe of 'Dragon' in such an uncanny way, it scares me half to death. We are confident the Order has long winding untrodden path snaking off ahead of us and are secretly hoping Rafa will come along for the entire journey. Thanx for your time. Best wishes, as ever, to the underground black metal hordes."

Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB have just completed a short tour of their homeland with support from labelmates and Liverpool crossover thrashers SSS.
GAMA BOMB and SSS kicked off the "Back to the Fu-tour" last Thursday, making their way around the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, before GAMA BOMB start the second leg of the tour in the UK in a couple of weeks.
GAMA BOMB frontman PHILLY BYRNE comments on the Irish shows:
"We finished our four date Irish tour on Sunday night, very late, and we're completely knackered. We managed to cheat the Icelandic volcano by touring at home at precisely the right moment - take that mother nature!"
"It was great fun, and much more successful than we ever expected it could be. Turns out people in Ireland love us! In Galway one girl fell off the top of a human pyramid and needed stitches on her head, we hope she's okay. We hope fans in the UK wear crash helmets for our upcoming shows." More...
British thrashers EVILE are getting well acquainted with the American touring circuit, having just finished a North American tour with German legends KREATOR and now making their way around once again with New Jersey's OVERKILL.
EVILE are currently in the midst of the Killfest tour, which also features VADER, GOD DETHRONED, WARBRINGER and WOE OF TYRANTS.
EVILE lead guitarist OL DRAKE reports from the tour:
"Currently sat in bed in a Japanese hotel in San Francisco. This place is awesome! Love San Francisco. We played the Regent Ballroom last night and had a brilliant time. We felt very welcomed, and in such an amazing venue. Me and Ben walked around San Fran at about 3am looking for food - we even tried to be a car to go through the Burger King drive-thru. Day off today
as the Vegas show was cancelled (boo!) and to be honest I need it. I ate some American fish n' chips, and that didn't go down well. As I've said before, leave fish n' chips to England!"
"Got a lot of ideas for album 3 - we basically have the title and album art concept decided too. Got a very good feeling about the new material!" More...
Mountains Among Us are currently recording their new ep "Redeemer" at The Lodge Studios in Charlotte, NC. During the process they are keeping everybody informed of the progress via a studio blog. Here is the first entry:
"Day 1: Gear: First off we can't begin to tell you how great it is to be back recording new material after a loooooong break, remember 'Believer' was recorded in the fall of 2008 and 'True North' was recorded during late 2007 to mid 2008."
"For 'Redeemer' we are using a completely new amp/effect setup, along with Brandon's brand new Gibson Les Paul Custom 'Custom Shop.' He is also playing through Marshall JCM2000 instead of the Orange amp/head used on the last 3 albums. Pedal effects remain the same Boss DD3, Boss DD7, Boss Super Octave, Boss EQ, Ibanez TS808HW Overdrive (gift), Ernie Ball vp Junior. Boss DC3. Setting are completely different than before, lots of overdrive without the heavy distortion of before. He also likes to use Mogami cables, slightly expensive but well worth the $."
"For Bass Jodi plays a mid 80's Fender Jazz with custom pickups. Pedals are Electro Harmonix delay, chorus, and Tube overdrive through Marshall head and Cabinet. Pretty straightforward setup with lots of bottom end." More...

Metalcore act The Demonstration is hard at work on their third studio album. Their second, "Accidents with Intelligence," was released in 2008 (click here for the MU review).
The as yet untitled full length is slated to be released in the fall of 2010, with recording being done over the summer. The official press release is as follows:
"We are currently working on our third full-length record right now and everything is coming together. We've spend quite a bit of time on this record, and have been taking a slightly different approach. Accidents With Intelligence was written in a very short amount of time following our signing with Mediskare. This time around we are taking our time, experimenting with some different styles, tunings, and directions both vocally and musically. The demo we posted yesterday because we just wanted to get something new out there, and we tired of hearing about lady gaga, haha. Jameson and David have been writing music and we have several songs for this new record finished. The demo we posted as a trial has a slightly different feel that what Demonstration fans are used to, but trust us, you can expect the traditional sound elements that you're used to hearing from us threaded throughout this next record as well as some new stuff that you might not expect from us. We are taking our time on this one to give our fans the best album we can that shows our progression from Accidents. Expect some elements that you're used to from us, but also expect a move aggressive, heavy, yet melodically sound record from us in 2010!"
Check out everything The Demonstration is up to, including the Lady Gaga cover video, at the band's MySpace Page.
In a recent update, Obituary vocalist John Tardy revealed that the band have begun work on their next studio album, which will be the follow up to last years album, "Darkest Day." The message reads as follows:
"We are enjoying some time off and it has given us a chance to finally work on some new music. Trevor (Peres - guitar) was in town and we got some new Obituary songs down. Heavy as balls! Donald (Tardy - drums) and I also have been working on some new TB BLOODLINE material. ...just having a blast jamming!!!!
"I am still working on this studio! It is coming along slowly, but starting to see the light at the end of tunnel! I need some carpet!!! Can't find anything I like! I will also try to get that webcam back up soon.
"We are getting closer and closer to the start of our US Tour! It starts off in Orlando and the Club Firestone! This place is awesome and we have not played in Orlando in a long, long time so we are hoping for a killer show!!"
Nashville Pussy is out touring again, this time headlining the Parental Advisory Tour, and they have along supporting acts Green Jelly and Psychostick. Known for their good-time-lovin’ ways, Nashville Pussy is a self-described “rolling party.” Guitarist Ruyter Suys generously took some time out of listening to the new Airborne album in the van to chat with us via phone about touring, Nashville Pussy’s music, and a couple other random tidbits. One important thing to note is that this transcript is no substitute for the twenty minute flow of rollicking fun Ruyter gave me.
If you want to get a little closer (but not too close), check out Nashville Pussy’s Twitter Feed. Everyone has access to post pictures, and Ruyter is worried it will result in blackmail in the future, but they are going with it for now. And if you want the full experience, check out their upcoming shows. More...
Belgian black metal outfit Enthroned has announced that they are planning to head to the United States in the near future for their first shows in the country in nine years. A message from the band reads as follows:
"Finally after nine years, Enthroned will come back to the United States this summer! Dates will come soon and we will reveal the support acts in the meantime.
"Also, Enthroned will team-up with Norway's Gorgoroth for the South American portion of their world tour, this September. The tour will be around Brazill. Soon dates will be posted. Promoters interested, drop a line to Tumba Productions."
Guitarist Jonas Rydberg of the recently disbanded band Burst has new joined a new project titled Faster Katt. Sample Faster Katt tracks can be heard at the band's MySpace page. Faster Katt also issued the following statement about the band's formation:
"About six months ago, the signs for putting together a full line-up for Faster Katt and make a 'real band' out of it, were finally auspicious. Since our first recording, made in 2005, me and Putte often discussed this when we were drinking, but for some strange reason nothing happened.. Until now, that is! Or, as I said, about six months ago, when the good old jolly band BURST decided to throw in the towel and left our we-go-way-back-friend and evil genius Jonas Rydberg free of duties. Cunning as we are, we quickly enticed him to pick up an axe of ravaging rawk-storms and join forces with us! A couple of months later, Mattias Engström, my dear partner and master of prog-metal-might from MEMFIS, finally managed to escape the Mordor of Wermland, from which we all hail, to live in Gothenburg with us. Hence, he had no choice but to strap on his awesome-to-death Thunderbird and team up.
"So, I had some 'new' material which we arranged and recorded at a pace way faster than katt! The creative skills and the diabolic devotion of our new members was exactly the fix needed to turn this corpse into a zombie again! After some rehearsing we set off to our friend, and drum-sound ninja, Krille's home Evil Grill, to get the drums on tape. After this we recorded the bass-guitars and vocals at home. Very comfortable, non-stressful and cheap. Big thanks to Peter for letting us use your wardrobe, and for McGyvering a golfbag into a microphone-stand. More...
Nige Rockett, guitarist and co-founder of British thrash metal veterans Onslaught has posted a message online updating fans on the status of the bands forthcoming fifth studio album. The posting reads as follows:
"Yes we have an album title. Yes we have a release date. Yes we have a producer. Yes we have studio time booked and yes we have a new. Hahahahaha not telling ya.
"It's certainly not gonna be Killing Peace 2 that's for sure. It's old school, It's contemporary, its Onslaught. It's gonna be faster at times, definitely heavier with some songs having their more intricate moments, but not too intricate, cuz that means compromising the violence which this album is really gonna be all about: pure unadulterated musical violence.
"We're gonna be using several different guitar tunings to add some sonic variety and lots of truly stunning solos coming your way from Mr Rosser-Davies. He's on fire at the moment and being pushed to the limits in terms of creativity and originality. More...

Swedish gothic metallers Draconian have checked in with the following announcement about postponing their previously announced tour date in Turkey:
"Due to the volcanic eruptions the severe flight disruptions keeps us from doing the show on Thursday. The show will be postponed. The promoters has yet not responded to our former demands for this show to happen. Know that the new show-date (May 8 or 18) is NOT confirmed until we say so. Our booking agent has not given Turkey the final OK yet, yet they have made it official. The promoters are acting quite strange in handling this whole deal. To be sure of any further information, await updates shortly from me or another member of Draconian. Thank you for your patience."
Draconian also recently announced that the band is in the process of writing a new album. Additional details about the release date and album title will be announced as they are made available.

Amaranthe has posted another tour blog online through Crank It Up about their tour dates with Kamelot:
"Hey folks! Olof here again with our second and final tour blog, from the Scandinavian leg of the Kamelot tour! Recently got back home, and what can I say, what a tour! To continue where we left off in the first blog; Tampere was great, very receptive audience, and there were also some dedicated Kamelot/Amaranthe fans who attended the Helsinki show who also showed up for this gig - you guys kick ass, you know who you are! To celebrate another great show, we headed downtown, to a cozy bar, where we ended up hanging out with a ladies' floor hockey team who had just won the Finnish championship, so the mood was great!
"After another really weird trip on the finlandsfärja (boat from/to Finland/Sweden), with lots of strange and crazy people, plus a long drive from Stockholm to Oslo, we found ourselves in the norwegian capital! We all had a pretty chill off day, walking around in Oslo and later checking out the Kamelot show, at the magnificent Sentrum Scene - while feeling pretty damn excited about playing there the day after. If you haven't seen a Kamelot show at that venue, then you have no idea. More...
