Killyourstereo.com reports that although guitarist Tom Morello has repeatedly turned down numerous offers to record again with Rage Against the Machine, rumours abound that the reunited political rap-rock giants will enter the studio in the near future to record their first album since 2000's "Renegades."
The band has not revealed a release date, nor confirmed if their longtime label Epic Records will handle the new album. Since reuniting in 2007, Rage Against the Machine has been touring and playing festivals almost non-stop. Vocalist Zach de la Rocha even found time to release a self-titled EP with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore under the name One Day as a Lion.
Morello has also been sowing his creative seeds with his own solo project, The Nightwatchman, and according to him, that's all he needs. "[The Nightwatchman is] my principal musical focus, as I see it, for the remainder of my life. From the earliest days of playing open mic nights at coffee houses, it was apparent to me that this music was as important to me as any music I've ever been involved in. It really encapsulates everything I want to do as an artist," he says.
Right now, the band have no plans to tour or play any more live shows, although Morello noted that he doesn't "see any reason to not play more shows."
Dawn of Retribution has announced that they will be entering the studio in late May to begin tracking their debut full length album, set to be titled "The Plan To End Humanity."

The more intricate and melodic tastes in music, whether metal or not, will also have something they can enjoy on the release we hope. We’ve pretty much taken as many styles of metal as we can, and some non-metal, and mashed them together to create something pretty original and interesting."
The band has also announced that after a lengthy search for a bass player, Ben Jackson has come on board will debut on their upcoming release.

The Green Bay Press Gazette has reported the following story about Veterans raising concerns over the last stop of the Music as a Weapon IV tour:
Veterans say a festival that could include tobacco sampling, a tattoo parlor and heavy metal music doesn't belong near the Brown County Veterans Memorial on Armed Forces Drive.
The village recently approved a permit for the Music as a Weapon event, set to take place 2-6 p.m. May 17 at the Resch Center before a Disturbed concert later that night. Organizers say the event won't happen near the memorial, which sits on the corner of South Oneida Street and Armed Forces Drive, but some vets are wary the scene will mock the memorial.
"That is sacred land to the veterans," World War II veteran Bob Young told the Village Board. "They don't like to see it abused." More...
