Cleveland thrashers SKELETONWITCH have confirmed touring plans this summer with Weedeater and Withered on two seperate tours. First, SKELETONWITCH will hit the road with Weedeater in May after making appearances in Pennslyvania with Goatwhore and at this year's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. In addition, SKELETONWITCH will also hit the road again in July on a Decibel magazine-sponsored tour alongside Withered, in anticipation of the band's Prosthetic Records debut, tentatively due out this fall.
SKELETONWITCH will hit the studio in between the tours in June with producer Cory Smoot (Municipal Waste, GWAR) to record the yet untitled record. To preview current material, visit the band's Myspace page from the band's two prior self-released records. More...
HIGH ON FIRE will enter the studio in late May to record their follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Blessed Black Wings.
HIGH ON FIRE will be teaming up with legendary producer Jack Endino (NIRVANA, MUDHONEY, ZEKE, ACCUSED) for what will be the band’s the fourth studio album. Recording is set to happen at Avast II (formerly Ironwood Studio), while mixing will move to Soundhouse Studios. This still-as-yet-untitled record will see an early Fall release.
This will be the first HIGH ON FIRE album to feature new bassist Jeff Matz (ZEKE). The band has been debuting new material as part of their recent regional dates and has announced a handful of Northwest shows leading up to recording. A listing of tour dates can be found online here.
SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison has confirmed rumors that he will sit behind the kit for KORN this summer. "I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to perform with bands that have influenced me as a musician over the years," Joey said. "When I first heard KORN they blew me away and I have been a fan ever since. I'm looking forward to playing drums with these guys for the next five months!"
Joey will go straight from tour bus into the studio to continue work on the new SLIPKNOT CD which will surface in 2008.
KORN's management confirmed earier in the month that temporary drummer Terry Bozzio had completed his work on the band's new record and is no longer working with the group. Bozzio, a legendary drummer known for his work with MISSING PERSONS and Frank Zappa, plays on some but not all tracks on the album. Brooks Wackerman of BAD RELIGION played with the band several weeks ago at a youth volunteer show in Los Angeles.
Bozzio replaced founding drummer David Silveria in January, after Silveriaannounced at the end of 2006 that he was taking a "hiatus" from KORN for at least one album and tour.
KORN's eighth studio effort is due this summer. The band will headline the 2007 Family Values tour starting in mid-July, with EVANESCENCE, HELLYEAH, ATREYU, TRIVIUM and FLYLEAF also on the bill. The on-sale date for most of the shows is April 28.
Floridian death metallers DIABOLIC have issued the following update:
"To follow up our 2006 Possessed By Death EP, Diabolic will return to D.O.W. Studio on June 2nd, 2007 to record a new album.
Original vocalist/bass player/guitarist Paul Oulette and guitarist Jerry Mortellero have teamed up with guitarist R.J and original drummer Aantar Lee Coates. This album will be the most dynamic Diabolic album ever!"

Indiana thrashers YEAR OF DESOLATION will be touring throughout the summer on a handful of different packages. Starting in May with The Handshake Murders, the band will continue on in June alongside a rotating line-up with The Destro, Unholy, Apiary and Iscariot on the Lambgoat-sponsored First Post Tour. YEAR OF DESOLATION will continue on the tour through June 28, before departing to continue touring throughout July and into August, this time with Threat Signal and Bloodjinn.
YEAR OF DESOLATION continues touring in support of its Prosthetic Records debut, 'Year of Desolation,' which has been praised by critics as a welcome addition to the thrash and melodic death metal scene, which saw a January release. Produced by Jamie King (Through The Eyes of the Dead, Glass Casket), 'Year of Desolation' features in-depth design from renowned artist Paul Romano. With the recent release of the band's first DVD entitled 'Salvation,' West Virginia thrashers BYZANTINE have made the track "Cradle Song" available on iTunes. Only available on the DVD, and not featured on the band's forthcoming new record, the track is available for purchase here. Featuring a live film performance, bootleg performances, interviews and behind the scenes footage and more, 'Salvation' is now available through Prosthetic Records and a trailer for the film can be seen on BYZANTINE's MySpace page.
BYZANTINE recently took a short break from recording with producer Charles A. Fisher in Sissonville, WV to join up with God Forbid, Arsis, Goatwhore and Mnemic for a brief trek throughout the eastern US. The band is currently wrapping up recording for the forthcoming effort, 'Oblivion Beckons,' tentatively due out this summer.

Vancouver, B.C.-based heavy metal unit 3 INCHES OF BLOOD has completed work on their hotly anticipated new album entitled "Fire Up the Blades". The follow up to the band's 2004 release "Advance and Vanquish", "Fire Up the Blades" will drop on June 26, 2007 via Roadrunner Records.

JUCIFER has revealed their tour plans for this coming spring. The sonically monstrous duo will hit Lansing and Detroit, Michigan this coming weekend before a string of performances in Ontario, Canada. This will be the band's first return to the province in almost three years. Immediately following, JUCIFER will work their south along the Eastern U.S. seaboard.

Gilby Clarke has shot down reports that he has left Rock Star Supernova. Earlier this week ET Canada reported Clarke had left the band and vocalist Lukas Rossi stated they would soon re-name the group.
Slash was recently asked by MTV Brazil about a possible reunion of the original Guns N' Roses lineup. "It's been 12 years now... 11 years... and it just doesn't seem like one of those things that any of us are really thinking about doing," the Velvet Revolver guitarist said. "And I'm not saying never. I would say it would be a good idea to get, just for a couple of shows, to get the original STP and the original Guns N' Roses to do a couple of shows for the fun of it."
Another live performance video of LACUNA COIL has been posted at the Underground Video Television Website. The footage was taken at The Palladium in Worcester MA last year during the band’s tour with IN FLAMES & THE SWORD and is for their track “Fragments Of Faith” from their Century Media release “Karmacode”.
LACUNA COIL has teamed up with MySpace to exclusively debut its new video for the track "Within Me". You can watch that video online here. The stunning new clip was shot in the band's hometown of Italy and the track is the fourth single from their critically acclaimed "Karmacode" album. The band is till doing show dates with SHADOWS FALL and STONE SOUR on the Jagermeister Music Tour.
San Francisco power/thrash metallers IMAGIKA have completed most of the songwriting for the follow-up to "My Bloodied Wings" and are presently recording demos for the new material. Plans exist for the band to enter the studio in September after a 10-date West Coast tour in August. An early 2008 release on an as-yet-undetermined label is expected.

IMAGIKA's latest album, "My Bloodied Wings", was released in North America in July 2006 through Crash Music. The follow-up to 2005's "Devils on Both Sides" was recorded at Trident Studios in Pacheco, California and was mixed at Los Angered Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden with Andy LaRocque of KING DIAMOND fame.

British kings of gloom PARADISE LOST present you their brand-new e-card allowing further insights in the band’s upcoming release In Requiem, which will be released via Century Media Records, in the UK on Monday, May 21.

North Carolina blackened death metallers, Dark Autumn have posted three new songs on their myspace page. The tracks are "Hymn to Angra Mainyu," "Hurled From the Heavens," and "Desecrate the Entombed."
Long Island post-hardcore act FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES slammed its former frontman Ben Perri during a recent interview with Possum on Altitude TV. According to the group, Perri left them hanging while they were recording their new album, "Holding a Wolf by the Ears" (Vagrant), by promising the band he was coming down to do his tracks and never showing up. The group was then forced to put drummer Francis Mark into the lead vocalist position.

Formed in 2000, FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES became known for their bruising live shows and for deftly marrying melody to the punishing, aggressive hardcore sound. The band released their first album, "Too Bad You're Beautiful", on Ferret in 2001 that went on to sell over 100,000 copies. The band signed to Vagrant in 2003 and released "The Fiction We Live" (over 150,000 sold), followed by "Abandon Your Friends".
Buffalo, NY metallers SONS OF AZRAEL have posted a new track on their myspace page titled "Scent Of A Dead Whore". The track comes off their debut album on Ironclad Recordings entitled "The Conjuration of Vengeance," which is due out this summer.
Swedish death metallers SOULDRAINER will issue their new album, Reborn, via Mascot Records on May 18th. Reborn features the following tracks: 'First Row In Hell', 'Internal Suicide', 'The Others', 'To The Promised Land', 'Daemon To Daemon', 'Reborn', 'Everyday Hero', 'Black Thirteen', 'They All Die', 'Angel Song'. Brooklyn, New York-based thrashers VERISMO have just released their debut album, "City of Kings".
Comprised of Stephan Laboccetta (vocals, guitar), Vincent Cruz (bass), and Tamas Vajda (drums), VERISMO is "a return to the good old days of thrash, when musicians knew their instruments, vocals were both intense and intelligible, and a live show was truly an experience," according to a press release.
"City of Kings" was recorded in one continuous take under the watchful eye of Dean Baltulonis (SICK OF IT ALL), and was mastered at Trutone Studios by Joe Lambert (TED NUGENT, ALICE COOPER). The CD has independently charted on the FMQB top 50, and has been in regular rotation in many local and distant stations, including a spot in the top ten of WSOU. All three members are no slouches on their instruments, either, as Laboccetta received his degree music at Radford University, ex-Ringling Brothers performer/acrobat Vajda received a diploma from the Drummers Collective, and Cruz was trained at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI have cancelled their previously announced appearance at this year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 2-4, 2007 in Wacken, Germany.
LORDI management has issued the following statement regarding the matter:
"It is with deep and genuine regret that LORDI are forced to cancel their scheduled appearance at this year's Wacken Open Air. The band has been offered a headline, main stage slot at this year's Ozzfest, and so are unable to leave that tour in order to perform at Wacken. The band wish to sincerely apologise to the booker, the organizers, and especially their fans for this situation, but their hands are tied. LORDI look forward to performing at Wacken in the near future."
LORDI has already been confirmed for the 2008 edition of the festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2008.
HELLYEAH, the new band featuring former PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott alongside members of MUDVAYNE and NOTHINGFACE, has parted ways with bassist Jerry Montano (NOTHINGFACE, DANZIG). His replacement will be announced shortly.
As previously reported, HELLYEAH will launch the "Fire It Up" tour on May 20 in Baltimore before heading over to Australia and making its way to England for an appearance at this year's Download festival. More...
DROWNING POOL will release its third album, "Full Circle", on July 24 through the group's new record label, Eleven Seven Music (BUCKCHERRY). The band was reportedly looking at offers from Sanctuary and Century Media, but turned both down in favor of Eleven Seven Music. DROWNING POOL also has taken on a new management company, Tenth Street Entertainment (MÖTLEY CRÜE, BUCKCHERRY), following the group's split with Paul Bassman of Bass Management (DAMAGEPLAN).
DROWNING POOL recently released a new music video in conjunction with the USO for their new track written exclusively for the troops, entitled "Soldiers". The video features live footage from the band's last USO-sponsored trip to Kuwait and Iraq. The USO will also be giving the song away for free through their MySpace page.
