Leaves' Eyes has checked in with the following road report:
"We are on our way from Helsinki to Oslo/Norway where we will play the last show of this tour. The scenery is quite impressive as we are actually plowing through the Nordic ice! Our last report ended in Lissabon 10 days ago where we had a great show and met a lot of cool fans. After that we had to endure extreme boredom on a 36 hour drive to Dortmund. The score so far on the trip to Dortmund:
- 5 full length movies
- two seasons of Simpsons
- countless piles of awful gas station food
- about 3000 liters of beer and other assorted alcoholic beverages
- 3 tour bus drivers fully absorbed with driving
- a shitload of bad jokes
"Germany: After enjoying the hot weather in Portugal, Dortmund welcomed us with the rainy and cold climate of good old Germany, but also with the long awaited ‘Special Fan edition of Njord’. One of the new songs, 'At Heavens End,' already proved to be a killer live song. After the show we had a really great spontaneous party with Kamelot and Adagio in and in front of our tour busses til the morning light. More...

Further more we will work on providing you with a decent merchandise page where you can find a complete overview of everything that is available and most important, where and how to order it.
"The development of a special and unique stage show is also in progress and will be presented for the very first time during our first show of the new beginning of the beast that is Heretic. Even though there wont be any activity on stage for you to witness in these months of absence, we will be working very hard to make our return something worth waiting for... Now come and experience the last 3 shows for the time that is to come."
Heretic's upcoming live shows are as follows:

The Gates of Slumber, which recently had to cancel its planned Roadburn appearance due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, has now issued the following statement about canceling more upcoming European dates:
"Regrettably due to the situation with the volcanic eruption that is taking place in Iceland, TGoS will have to cancel out the remainder of our main land European tour for this week coming up. We are extremely sorry to do so but this is something that is totally out of our control. Right now we are focusing our attention to arrive in London by the weeks end to make the Cathedral/Church of Misery tour and as of right now, our flights are booked. Lets hope that it stays that way. We have every intention to make the Europa dates up, hopefully by the end of this summer and once we have it set in stone, we will let you all know. Once again, we are extremely sorry for canceling and by CROM, To the gods of the four winds, be damned!"

Guitarist Lee Altomare of New York's The Communion passed away yesterday, April 16th 2010, due to complications from eye surgery. The band issued the following statement about his passing:
"Yesterday morning, Lee passed away due to complications from eye surgery. We are all deeply wounded, white and shaking with shock, by this sudden loss of our great friend. He brought us all together. He brought out the best in us, enabled and encouraged us to be at our absolute best in music and life. I personally cannot imagine being where i am today without all Lee put together.
"I say all this with zero hyperbole, and those who knew him best no doubt feel the same way we do at this moment. Our hearts go out to his amazing family and all his friends, as well as anyone whose supported us in the last 6 years. Know that Lee loved, appreciated, and cared about all of you very much, as do we. We'll miss you forever."

Greece's Daylight Misery has posted footage online of the band performing a cover of "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" by Type O Negative. Daylight Misery also issued the following statement about the video and the recent death of Peter Steele:
"It's like losing a friend... Losing the inspiration. Many years have passed since the first time we took in our hands the true masterpiece 'Bloody Kisses.' So dark, so depressive, so black, so melancholic, so charismatic, so influential, so unique. This time Peter Steele is dead and this is not a bad 'joke' as 5 years ago. This time we have to keep in our minds that we will not listen his recognizable voice in new songs again. Sad but true, like Type O Negative's music. Daylight Misery played a show in Athens on April 11th, 3 days before Pete's death and My Girlfriend's Girlfriend was the cover song of the set list. We are proud about it, even though we are not talents (Don't mistake lack of talent for genius) and this song is dedicated in Pete's memory. We are not as talented as you man, we are just the vandals... RIP."
Chicago's Denial Machine has posted a video online of their performance of the song "This Burden (Tortured)," which can be viewed below.

Many thanks go out to Steven Kellner for tracking and engineering this project, Ethan Bill at Room 368 studios for letting Steve use the studio to track drums, and Brendan at AI recordings for bringing it all to life."
Toronto's Scarlet Sins has announced that they have decided to disband. The band has issued the following update:
"It is with a heavy heart that we're announcing the end of Scarlet Sins."
"Sadly, in spite of all that we've accomplished prior to and beyond the release of our debut album, we've come to a point where it no longer makes sense to continue as a band. Scarlet Sins is made up of four individuals with their own ideas of where we should take our music. The deeper we got into making our second record it became more and more obvious that the dynamics just weren't there. Some of the ideas gelled, some didn't, and unfortunately some of the gaps in our thinking were too far and too deep to bridge." More...
