Swedish power metal outfit TAD MOROSE are proud to announce a new singer in their ranks: Joe Comeau (ex Annihilator / Liege Lord & ex Overkill guitarist).
Here a Joe´s comment: "What can I say? Obviously I am very honored to be the new vocalist for the great Tad Morose! I would first like to thank all the Tad guys for bringing me on board. Work has already begun on awesome new Tad Morose material and I am psyched as hell to move ahead on creating a killer new CD with these guys. I am also looking forward to our upcoming shows so I can meet all the Tad faithful and friends alike! Make sure you come and have a drink with us. See ya soon! Cheers, Joe Comeau."
TAD MOROSE´s last effort “Modus Vivendi” was released in 2003. The band will debut with him on stage at Gothenburg Metal Festival (Sweden) on April 30th and Karmoygeddon Festival (Norway) on May 6th.
Norwegian symphonic metal band TRISTANIA have parted ways with vocalist Kjetil Ingebrethsen.
Commented Kjetil: "After four amazing years, I have decided to leave TRISTANIA. There is no bad blood between us at all, and we are still good friends. This is a choice I had to make, just for my own part, and it was the right time to do it now — before the new album.
"I just want to take the opportunity to thank all the fans I have met, and bands I have shared stage with, during tours and festivals. It's been a blast — you will truly be remembered!
"To the TRISTANIA 'family'; Einar, Vibeke, Kenneth, Anders, Rune, Svein Terje, Østen and Carlo — it's been fantastic to be a part of you these years, thank you so much for everything."
The remaining members of TRISTANIA have issued the following statement regarding Kjetil's departure: More...
Angtoria will soon start filming their first music video as a part of the worldwide promotion for their album due to be released on Listenable Records April 27th. The video will be filmed during 3 days at two different locations, and director of the video is an upcoming and very talented Swedish director who has previously won awards for his work, Måns Berthas. On April 19th Sarah Jezebel, Dave Pybus (ex- Cradle Of Filth) and Toni Davey (Dani's wife and album cover model), will fly to Sweden to join Chris and Tommy and a yet to be revealed drummer to shoot the video for the title track "God Has A Plan For Us All".
"The song is based around child abuse by a religious person, which in turn leads the girl to madness because of years of mental torture through the offender getting away with what he has done to her. Putting images to lyrics like these is quite difficult without getting banned by every tv station, but we will sure try to portray the lyrics in images as much as possible. Chris´s young daughter Saga will play the child and Toni will obviously play the girl as older. This is to show the deterioration from start to finish of the girls life."
Long-running Swedish metallers DESTINY have found a replacement for the departed Janne Ekberg in former member Floyd Constantin, who played on the band's second album, "Atomic Winter", and was a member of DESTINY between 1986 and 1988. Before joining DESTINY the first time, Floyd was an original KING DIAMOND member but was replaced by Andy La Rocque before the first KING DIAMOND album was completed.
Commented the band in a statement: "Since leaving DESTINY he and the band lost contact until we (Floyd Constantin and Stefan Bjornshog) bumped into each other a couple of years ago in Jonkoping, Sweden. The next time we talked was last year when I called Floyd to ask his permission to add one of his unreleased DESTINY songs as a bonus track for the re-recording of 'Atomic Winter'. Floyd agreed and was invited to take part in the whole re-recording project that will take place later this year. After this we kept in contact and when Janne left the band both Floyd and I was interested in getting together again to see if the old magic still was there. When the Tony Martin gigs was offered we decided that this was the right time to stop talking and start playing and here we are."
DESTINY plan to record and release their new album, "Cold Fire", later this year. "Atomic Winter" (1988) will be released as a double CD with a re-mastered version of the original album as well as the re-recorded version in 2007 when the band celebrate their 25th anniversary. "Nothing Left To Fear" (1991), the band's third album, will also be part of the anniversary and will get the same treatment as "Atomic Winter", including not one but four newly recorded unreleased bonus tracks.

MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"So here we are back In L.A. going over some last-minute 'fine-tuning,' as it were, of most of these new songs, before we head overseas next week to commence recording. Speaking for myself, this is going to be a fun trip — I am looking forword to this entire studio experience and all that goes along with it. It's always cool to be involved in something creative."
MEGADETH are scheduled to enter the studio on April 19 to begin recording the follow-up to 2004's "The System Has Failed", which has sold more than 175,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group, who were most recently signed to Sanctuary Records, were joined by bassist James Lomenzo (ex-BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, WHITE LION) in February following the departure of James MacDonough (ex-ICED EARTH).
Former METALLICA / FLOTSAM & JETSAM / current VOIVOD bassist Jason Newsted has rejected accusations that he is "selling out" by associating himself with the the "Rock Star" talent-search TV program to find a lead singer for SUPERNOVA, the new band he is forming with ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke and MOTLEY CRUE drummer Tommy Lee.
As previously reported, "Rock Star" has signed songwriter-performer Butch Walker to produce SUPERNOVA's first album, to be released just before the new band hits the road in 2007. Walker, named Rolling Stone's 2005 "hot" producer, has written or produced tracks for AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK, BOWLING FOR SOUP and TOMMY LEE.
When asked what his reponse is to the people who think he is selling out by appearing on "Rock Star", Newsted said during his appearance on the "Camp Freddy Radio" show on Indie 103.1 FM on Saturday (April 1), "When people say something like that, then you go, 'OK, well, if I put you in the same situation, and knowing that you have spent through all the years millions upon squillions of dollars for advertisement, marketing, all this stuff, to get your band out there and get it noticed as you tour and whatever, and your album is out and everything. All of a sudden you have this opportunity where the people that are backing you and paying for the advertisement all over 70 countries for your band, for your new band, and it's not on your dime. C'mon, what? I said, 'What time and what city?' when they asked me. Would you not take this opportunity of a lifetime to be recognized possibly at the top of your field once again, take it to the mountain another time? What? C'mon."
During the same interview, Newsted also dismissed suggestions that SUPERNOVA could end up running into some legal trouble down the line over their name. Back in the early 1990s, a poppy punk trio called SUPERNOVA emerged from California's Orange County. The band, which released its first album on Atlantic Records in 1995, is perhaps best known for the track "Chewbacca", which appeared on the soundtrack to Kevin Smith's "Clerks".
Commented Newsted: "There was once a band called that [SUPERNOVA], and they had a song in the movie 'Clerks', I think in '93 or '94. [But the people behind the 'Rock Star' program] worked it out to trademark the name and do all the proper things you're supposed to do with a band, and there was a couple of other bands that had it in their name amongst a few other words, but that's all been worked out, and we are the one and only SUPERNOVA."
Xtreem Music has announced the signing of the reunited Atlanta-based thrashers HALLOWS EVE. The band returned in 2005 with a self-financed fourth album, entitled "Evil Never Dies", which went unnoticed due to a lack of real promotion and distribution, so the band finally signed a deal with Xtreem Music for a worldwide release that will result in proper exposure for this long-awaited return.
The new HALLOWS EVE line-up features two original members from the first album: Tommy Stewart (bass, vocals) and Skullator (guitar, vocals) and their style, although still retaining their original doses of that powerful blend of thrash and heavy metal, has incorporated more current influences from styles such as death metal with even some blast beats.
"Evil Never Dies" was recorded at Van Gogh Studios in Atlanta with co-producer Chris Gailfoil. The album follows the release of a two-track single, "Evil Offerings", which was recorded at Van Gogh in 2004.
Metal Blade Records recently released a deluxe box set by HALLOWS EVE, entitled "History of Terror". This collection includes all three of the group's Metal Blade albums (all remastered!), piles of bonus material and a bonus DVD (with a playing time of 200-plus minutes). Liner notes were included as well.
Former DIMMU BORGIR / CRADLE OF FILTH and current BENEDICTION drummer Nick Barker joined FEAR FACTORY on stage as a special guest for one song during the band's headlining appearance at the Manchester Academy 2 in England on Sunday, April 9. Barker reportedly performed "Martyr" with the band in what marked the first time FEAR FACTORY have ever had a guest drummer at one of their gigs.
BENEDICTION have set "Killing Music" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in June/July via Nuclear Blast Records (with whom the band recently re-signed). The CD will mark the recording debut with the group of Barker, who was most recently a member of BRUJERIA and who played with ex-FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares in the short-lived DRIVEN BY SUFFERING (working name) project. Following the album's release, the band will be appearing at festivals worldwide over the summer, followed by a full-blown "No Reunion Needed" world tour starting in September.
BENEDICTION have been confirmed as one of the headliners of the 2006 edition of the Fuck the Commerce festival, set to take place May 25-27 at MZA (Mehrzweckhalle) in Luckau, Germany.
VINTERSORG, the Swedish band led by BORKNAGAR frontman Andreas Hedlund (a.k.a. Vintersorg), have set "Solens Rotter" (Swedish for "The Sun's Roots") as the title of their new album, tentatively due before the end of the year via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2004's "The Focusing Blur" will not feature contributions from Steve DiGiorgio (SADUS, SEBASTIAN BACH, TESTAMENT, DEATH) and drummer Asgeir Mickelson (SPIRAL ARCHITECT, BORKNAGAR), both of whom performed on the band's last two releases.
Vintersorg's collaboration with BORKNAGAR's Oystein G. Brun (guitars and programming), dubbed CRONIAN, will release their debut album, "Terra", in the U.S. on April 18 via Century Media Records. The CD, which was issued in Europe on March 27, was mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound.

Relapse Records has announced the signing of cult underground grind/metal band THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS.
THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS (TCME) are a collection of real-life pathologists with an unhealthy adoration of and fixation on CARCASS. Formed by Dr. Morton Fairbanks M.D. (Guitar) and Dr. Jack Putnam M.D. (Drums), the band--rounded out by 63-year-old Dr. Guy Radcliffe--have always felt that the label "Carcass Clone" should be a badge of honor and distinction, and pursue that emulation with an almost religious zeal.
THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS is currently nearing completion of its next full-length record Olidous Operettas (the band's first recorded discharge in three years). Olidous Operettas is scheduled for a fall release.
TCME have previously released one full-length and a split album (w/Sweden's GENERAL SURGERY) via Razorback Records.
The nominations for the fourth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards — which this year takes place on Monday, June 12 at Koko in Camden, North London — were recently announced. In keeping with the "Valhalla" theme of this year's awards, Metal Hammer magazine have teamed up with the crew of the "Hammer of the Gods", an authentic full-size replica Viking longboat, to launch both the awards on June 12 and the team's cross channel row, which takes place on the weekend of June 3 to raise money for charity Task Brazil.
Leading the field for nominations are longstanding rock and metal purveyors Roadrunner Records, with a staggering total of 14 nominations for the label that is home to acts as diverse as SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD and award-nominated DRAGONFORCE. Coming in a very close second for overall nominations is major label powerhouse Warner Music with an impressive 11 awards for their roster of breakthrough U.S. rock bands MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and AVENGED SEVENFOLD (a favourite of Radio 1's Jo Whiley), as well as Valley boys FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND and Finnish rockers H.I.M. In a complete whitewash of the category, Warner Music have secured four of the five nominations in the "Best Video" category, with the fifth and final nomination going to Roadrunner.
Going head-to-head with a joint total of four nominations are Sony and Universal, while EMI have secured two nominations for metal stalwarts and British institution IRON MAIDEN. Coming on strong is independent challenger to the rock throne Visible Noise marginally trails Sony and Universal with three nominations including "Best UK Band" and "Album of the Year", both for BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. U.S. alternative rockers COHEED & CAMBRIA have surprised many with 3 nominations including appearances in the prestigious "Best Album" and "Best International Band" categories.
