Atlanta thrash metal band ANGER WITHIN has announced that they have signed with SATANICA RECORDS. The label is based out of New Zealand. The band's self-released 2008 demo "26," will be re-released internationally, as an EP with bonus tracks under SATANICA RECORDS. In addition, ANGER WITHIN is also finishing up new material at Virtual Adrenaline Studios. THe new album is tentatively titled "Fiction To Reality," which will also be released through SATANICA RECORDS, as an EP.
ANGER WITHIN's frontman, Wulf, comments, "Everyone in Anger Within is extremely excited to collaborate with Satanica Records! We feel that Satanica will help bring Anger Within's music, to an international level, & expose us to an all new audience. Not since 2003, & the re-release of the "New Nation" demo, (on the now defunct Frozen Music Label,) have we had any label put in the faith, time, or effort, stepped up to the plate, & take Anger Within under their wing. We plan on working hard for the label, & hope that any success, can lead to a domestic US record deal with somebody! With that said, we excited to finally have our foot in the door, & are very honored to have this opportunity to work with Xan & Satanica Records!"

New Jersey's pirate thrashers SWASHBUCKLE have recently parted ways with drummer Captain Crashride. A new replacement has already been found with a guy called Bootsmann Collins.
The band comments, "Ahoy scallywags and asshats! There's been a bit of a change in the 'buckle rank as of late. We have recently parted ways with drummer Captain Crashride. He brought us five years of service and utter shenanigans, and we wish him nothing but the best in combating that extreme outbreak of scurvy. With that being said, we now have a new drummer stepping up to fill the boots and more so to speak, and that man be none other than Bootsmann Collins. He's a fucking killer drummer and quite the retarded pirate. So we couldn't be more stoked to have him aboard. So please give him a warm welcome with yar internet shit-talk and utter disgust for everything piratical. We wouldn't have it any other way. Eat a bowl of fuck! Love, Admiral Nobeard. P.S. Check out the bootsmann's other band as well - WE ALL HAVE DAY JOBS Tootles!" More...
Germany's Burial Vault has issued the following update about their guitarist Alexander Petri returning to the band:
"Hey folks, we received some questions about our current situation due to our last blog. 'Is the band running into mischief? Are there any problems concerning to the Metalfest?' We can answer all these questions with: 'No.' We want to announce that Alexander 'Wolle' Petri has just rejoined the band.
"After he quit the band in September 2009, he realized very quick how much he missed to play music. Recently, he joined forces with our fellows Hate Embraced. When it became clear that Klaas was going to leave the band, we talked with Alexander about a possible reunion. He agreed and now the new old line-up is going to destroy the Metalfest!
"To all fans of Hate Embraced: It might be interesting for you to hear that Alexander will be playing the upcoming Hate Embraced-shows. With these shows he wants to do some farewell performances to the audience. And now we just want to say: See you soon at the Metalfest!"

Italian doom act Ufomammut has announced the band's new album "Eve" is to be released worldwide on May 5th via Supernatural Cat Records. Ufomammut has stated the concept of Eve was initially inspired by Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album. "The idea was to work on a long song and some satellites" the band commented. "Then we started in playing this song that was growing and developing bigger and bigger. And it was like we were reaching something new; a different knowledge. So I got the feeling we had to move it around something that was about freedom; the idea of rebellion, of fighting to reach something important, and peculiar."
The official release date, the number of tracks, the overall timing of the whole album, the number of formats the album will be presented in and just about every other aspect of the release are tied into the story of Eve. The band comments: "The concept of Eve was cool because cause you can read it on both sides, like the Ouroboros; a serpent circle eating itself. When all the other numeric things we came out together it all sounded like it was fate, it had to be done."
A teaser video for the album can be viewed below.

Dutch metallers Cirrha Niva have issued the following announcement about parting ways with their drummer Tommy White:
"Dear friends, we have a sad announcement to make: drummer Tommy White is forced to leave Cirrha Niva due to health problems. Although it didn’t came as a surprise to us we still feel very sad about it. We can only accept his carefully considered decision and wish Tommy a quick recovery. We really hope sometimes, someday, Tom’s health will allow him to pick up the drumsticks again and form or join a new band…this band will not only gain a kick-ass tight drummer but also a wonderful person. Good luck mate! Cirrha Niva will NOT cancel any gigs.
"Temporary drummer Eelco van der Meer who has played most of the recent gigs, will help us out for the time being. In the meantime Cirrha Niva is urgently seeking for a new talented drummer. So if you are a kick-ass drummer yourself or you know someone who is…contact the band at cirrhaniva [at] home.nl"

We're definitely ready to take everything to the next level with this release."

Katatonia has checked in from the road with a new tour report on Ultimate-Guitar.com. An excerpt from the blog follows:
"Hey folks, this is Nille from Katatonia. Like Mr. Sodomizer I´ll introduce myself so you´ll know what kinda of a bloke I am. Through the recent years I´ve met Jonas Renkse through their tour manager Ronnie who I once played in a band with called Amaran. This was back in 2006. In the beginning of December last year I received an mail from Jonas asking if I was interested in playing some bass for Katatonia. It didn´t take long before I agreed to take on the challenge. With a lot of songs to learn and little time to do it, I started to rehearse the songs be ear straight away. Tour started pretty much straight away and here´s my view of the week I´m covering in our band tour diary...
"Monday 22 of March (Lyon, France): I can recall waking up in the tour bus soaked in sweat as usual. It tends to get a bit hot upstairs. I don´t really know why but I guess that the air conditioning fucks up occasionally. Being all dizzy I headed my way to the venue which was located just beside the bus. I soon realized that the stage was good and that it had the potential to become a great gig. With some mini pizza slices and some soda in my stomach I was off to sound check. I soon learned that my bass guitar needed to be adjusted so this evening I had to play with Jonas´ bass which he was kind enough to lend to me as backup throughout the whole tour. Its the same Mayones bass he uses for his other band ´Bloodbath´. Short after the sound check everyone was really hungry and was eager to get their teethes in something good. More...

Privateer has posted a music video online for the song "Origami," which can be viewed below. The band also commented on the video:
"We are proud to present you our new video Origami. We live and die drowned in endless statistics. Our existence has become no more than numbers. For many people we represent no more than our ID number or our birth date. Our lives are piled up in heaps of documents, printouts and certificates - we live on paper and very often paper is all that's left after we're gone. Our existence in this world ends, as our death certificate is signed. A paper existence in a world stuffed with paper. We see and describe the reality through the data we have gathered. We leave behind the paper curtain of bureaucracy and education. The shapes of reality turn into patterns. Our life is Origami."

Krypteria's guitarist, producer and founding member Chris Siemons is forced to hang up his live guitar for the time being.
His health problems, which had already caused the group to cancel their German tour last October, unfortunately have taken a turn for the worse. Therefore, his doctor insisted on Chris avoiding any activity that might potentially aggravate the situation and lead to permanent bodily damages let alone paralysis.
Beginning with Krypteria's performance at the "Go to Gö" festival this Friday, Olli Singer (ex-Lolita Nace) will take over live guitar duties for Chris Siemons.
Chris Siemons: "Olli is a phenomenal guitarist and a great guy, who fits in perfectly with us. And while I'll dearly miss performing on stage, I am more than confident that Olli will do a wonderful job filling in for me live."
Drummer S.C. Kuschnerus: "Krypteria's original line-up will not undergo any changes. However, Chris will focus on the management aspects of the band to a greater extent than ever. And thanks to his enormous expertise in that field it will only make Krypteria a stronger entity."
Besides working on the upcoming Krypteria album with his band mates Chris is facing a lengthy rehabilitation process which ideally will help him avoid surgery, improve his health substantially and eventually may allow him to return to the stage.
Upcoming Krypteria shows: More...
Amaranthe has posted the following new tour blog online through Crank It Up about their current tour dates with Kamelot:
"Hey all, Olof from Amaranthe checking in from Tampere Finland, in the middle of our Scandinavian tour with Kamelot. This is mainly a swedish site, but I will keep it in English for our international readers. This is Amaranthe's first ever tour, and it couldn't really have gone better so far! We started out in our hometown of Gothenburg, playing a packed Trädgårn, not bad for our second gig ever! Our clean singers, Jake and Elize have been out on the road for more than two weeks with Kamelot, and after seeing them perform on big stages together with Kamelot, it was nice to finally to join them on the trek!
"To kick things off properly we ended the first night by bringing the Kamelot dudes to our favourite local bar, Rockbaren. After a late night and an early morning plus some travleing we found ourselves in the very awesome venue Tyrol in Stockholm, constructed to imitate the interior of an alp cabin - but an alp cabin that can fit 1500 people :)
"Stockholm crowd was great as well, and it's quite fun to see the look on people's faces as we take on the stage and more and more singers walks on. At this point we are unknown to most people, and we are all really enjoying convincing people that Amaranthe is the best thing since sliced bread - you don't really get anything for free, but it makes it all the more exciting when you finally get that crowd roaring. Also here we had a pretty awesome after party at the classic rockbar Anchor bar, after being picked up in style with a long white limousine, cheers to the Holmqvist brothers from Djurgården hockey team for that! "After 10 awesome years playing synths in the band, I've decided to leave Textures. There are other projects (music and other) I've been wanting to do for a while now and currently the time and effort it takes to be in the band is in the way of me achieving those."
"I want to thank all you fans for your continued support and making this journey as awesome as it has been. I got the rare opportunity to travel and meet the most awesome people from all over the world and appreciate the sustained contacts online. I hope all of you will continue supporting this hardworking band. They earn every bit of it. Their next album will blow your socks off, believe me!"
"To the guys (including the crew) I'd like to say it's been an absolute honor and a privilege to have been in this band, seeing and helping it grow from this small local band to the phenomenon it is now. It will take a while to get used to not doing this with you guys anymore, and I'll cherish the friendship we have forever. I wish you guys well in all your future endeavors. You're going to be just fine. This decade has been one hell of a ride! THANK YOU!"
The band commented on Richard’s departure:
"After 10 very great years, it is sadly finally so...our synths & samples-maestro is leaving. We will miss Richard a lot, especially his laugh and his awesome humour."
After Eric left a few months ago, of course we began to think more about our future times and everything we do along the way. Things change all the time! For everyone."
"We know Richard will have a great time doing the other things he really loves, but meanwhile our tourbus is going to keep hitting the road we are unstoppable!"
"So Textures will live on of course, we are in the middle of writing a new album and at the same time we are keeping our eyes open for a new keyboard player! So keep 'em coming folks!! The band is contemplating how to fill Richard’s place within TEXTURES."
Bassist/vocalist Pat Henry of New Jersey pirate metal band Swashbuckle has issued the following studio update:
"'Buckle drum tracks for 'Crime Always Pays' will be finished tonight. Starting on guitars/bass this week. This record is moving along awesomely.
