MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the group's official web site:
"I thought I would start to inform you of what you can expect from the Gigantour Festival this summer.
"First off the set times on the main stage will be approximately 90 minutes for MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER each, 45 minutes for FEAR FACTORY, and 30 minutes each for DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE.
"We are hoping to have a second stage of talent and as of now there is a list of fourty bands that want to be part of this wonderful summer excursion. Each one of those bands would play approximately 20 minutes, excluding the headlining band for the second stage, which would be around 30 minutes.
"We are going to play in many cities that we may have missed last trek, and so far the dates total 32, but that may grow depending on the demand from you, the fans, and from the promoters who believe. More...
Gorerotted have announced the release of their latest album, "A New Dawn for the Dead" through Metal Blade Records on June 13th. This is their third full length and it demonstrates a subtle but welcome turning point for the band. Bassist/vocalist Wilson elaborates, "This album is a new chapter for us. Its still has the same 'Gorerotted'-humour and extreme grooves, but it's developed and grown into something evil-er and uglier than ever!" Lyrics have followed this new path with subjects ranging from murder to voodoo and from psychotic violence to drink and drug abuse.
After one and a half years touring "Only Tools and Corpses", the band have condensed the ferocity and the atmosphere of their live performance into a more complex record. "For the first time we used our live sound engineer and a new studio for recording and its complemented our vision nicely". 'A New Dawn For The Dead' was recorded at Aexxys-Art studio (Schwandorf, Germany) engineered by Markus Roedl, mixed by Stephan Fimmers (Necrophagist) and mastered by Tim Turan (Status Quo, Marilyn Manson, Emperor, Discharge) at Turan Audio.
Artwork for the album is handled by the infamous UK artist Mick Kenny. The limited edition release will feature a bonus DVD featuring live tracks taken from Summer Breeze Open-air festival, the "Only Tools And Corpses" video and some other cool extras. Guitarist Tim (Fluffy) elaborates "The live tracks from Summer Breeze are really cool, huge stage and great audience!. Theres no fancy edits so you get to see a 'real' Gorerotted show complete with drunken fuck-ups and Ben Goreskin and Wilson talking utter shit, I hope people enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed playing it!".

JUDAS PRIEST Management Co-Ordinator Jayne Andrews has issued the following update via the band's official web site:
"Pease be a little bit patient and understand that the world is a very big place and trying to set up shows worldwide takes time!!!! We can't be everywhere all at once!!
"We haven't forgotten about Canada — just as we haven't forgotten about all the other places like South America, Mexico, France, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand etc., etc!!! We are working on many other dates and will be announcing them just as soon as they are finalised - so please have a little bit of faith and trust us!! When we have some dates confirmed in Canada and everywhere else you will read them here!!"
JUDAS PRIEST have moved up the start date of their North American tour by a couple of days. The band will kick things off May 30 at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, rather than at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 1.
POWERMAN 5000 are in the middle of a U.S. tour aimed at getting fans ready for a new as-yet-untitled album, which will be completed at Mad Oak Studios in frontman Spider One's hometown of Boston, MA during a brief hiatus from the tour after their April 17 show in Revere, MA. A majority of the album has already been recorded in Los Angeles. The CD will be released later this year on Spider One's Megatronic Records. Joining Spider One, drummer Adrian Ost, and bassist Siggy Siursen on tour and on the forthcoming album are guitarists Terry Corso (formerly with ALIEN ANT FARM) and Johnny Rock (formerly with HALF-COCKED, the first band Spider One signed to Megatronic when it was being distributed by DreamWorks Records), replacing founding member Adam 12, who left the band before the tour started (but will appear on the new album), and Mike "M.33" Tempesta, who left in 2004.
Spider One recently gave the inside scoop about what fans can expect from the new music on the band's web site: "Well, let's just say if you like calculated, bloated HOOBASTANK ballads or radio friendly nu metal or over produced, auto-tuned, cookie cutter rock, then you will hate the new POWERMAN 5000 record. Now, I'm NOT going to say the standard bullshit like, 'This is our heaviest, most brutal record yet.' That's so boring and predictable. Not to mention, not true. I will say that this record is raw and real. My goal on this one is to put together a bunch of songs that are meant to be played live. The kind of songs you could jam on with your friends in a garage band. I don't know, it is what it is. Rock 'n roll, punk rock, metal, whatever...it's PM5K. I'm digging it!!!"

CMH Records have set a May 31 release date for the AC/DC tribute album entitled "Black n' Bluegrass: The Bluegrass Tribute to AC/DC". According to the label's web site, "The gutsy lock-step stomp of AC/DC's music fits wonderfully into the bluegrass two-step and there's plenty of pickin' goin' on to keep even the pickiest quitar aficianado grinnin' from ear to ear to ear. Slap it on and hit the highway to hellbilly heaven!"

The video for “Norra El Norra”, the second video from Israel’s Orphaned Land's album "Mabool," has been posted here. Singer Kobi Farhi explained the making of the video and how they filmed it:
We had decided to make a video out of existing live footage. I guess someone loves us up there because the next day we had a message waiting in our forum from an unknown director. He said he’d seen the "Ocean Land" video clip and that he would be willing to produce the "Norra El Norra" clip free of charge!!! We started preparing to shoot the video immediately. I first chose the cast, choosing some of my best friends (they had to run all day long, the poor bastards: I think they quit smoking because of us). Then we chose the 3 locations: Tsedek Fort (the band playing), the old city of Jaffa (the chase scene), and actually in my home (before the birth scene). It was a great experience and I think the result is excellent! You can download the clip at our site as well, and also watch photos of the making of at www.orphaned-land.com.
Orphaned Land's first U.S. appearance will be at Atlanta’s sold-out ProgPower USA VI. Additionally, the band will be performing an acoustic set at the festival’s pre-party: for information click here. The band, who recently was added to Paradise Lost’s European tour, will be performing at several European summer festivals. Tour dates: More...
Sanctuary Records has reportedly set a June 28 release date for the new collaboration between BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi and legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (ex-DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH). Aided by drummer Kenny Aronoff (ex-JOHN MELLENCAMP), the duo have cut 13 tracks, all produced by Bob Marlette, who worked on Tony's first solo album ("Iommi") in 2000 and the BLACK SABBATH "Reunion" album in 1998, and whose recent productions with SEETHER and SHINEDOWN spent time in the U.S. Billboard charts.
Speaking to MelodicRock.com recently, Hughes said about the upcoming CD, "What we have here is one hell of a focused record. This is Iommi's best work. Riffs, songs…just blow-your-mind-type stuff. I told Tony it was his best work since BLACK SABBATH. It's one hell of a record….and when you here it you will know what I'm talking about. 'The DEP Sessions' was well received, we call that the appetizer for what's coming. The whole rock industry took a shine to us working together again. I'm going to do at least 80 shows solo this year and Tony and I will tour the world on this record. It's an album for me that will compete with VELVET REVOLVER and AUDIOSLAVE."
LEAVES EYES, featuring ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY's LIV KRISTINE, will release their new album, Vinland Saga, on July 19th in North America. The album will be preceded by a MCD entitled Elegy, which will be released as a teaser on June 28th.

I attended the Philadelphia stop on the Mudvayne, Life of Agony, American Head Charge and Bloodsimple tour on Saturday, April 9th at the Electric Factory. Mudvayne recently had to cancel their stop on the Guerilla Tour for Philly due to many different reasons. However they still honored those tickets at this show. Which were cheaper, by the way. I had the chance to also interview Matt McDonough prior to the event so look for that in the coming days as well! More...
