EX DEO, the new band led by KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono, will make their live debut this September/October on the special edition trek of Europe’s biggest pagan/folk-metal tour, PaganFest.
Co-headlining throughout will be Finland’s KORPIKLAANI and Germany’s DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER. Support will come from Sweden’s UNLEASHED, United Kingdom’s ALESTORM, EX DEO and Canada’s BLACKGUARD.
Special appearances will be made by Finland’s MOONSORROW and Norway’s Einherjer on select dates (marked "Extended Show" below).

Lebanese Gothic rock band THE ARCANE is putting the final touches on their second album, expected to be released July 2009. The album will be titled "Rivers Of Endless Sorrow" and the tracklisting is as follows:

KATAKLYSM is kicking off their North American trek as direct support to England's grindcore legends Napalm Death on the upcoming "Campaign for Musical Destruction" tour, which kicked off on April 10.
The Ocean has parted ways with vocalist Mike Pilat. Guitarist Robin Staps comments, "Being in a band is the constant struggle to reach the one, the final, the ultimate line-up. The right people, the right musicians. The line-up that clicks, where the music that is created on stage is somehow greater than the sum of each individual's output. Once a band has reached that line-up, it is flirting with divinity, it has the chance to be larger than life, to touch majesty." More...
Melbourne art rockers A State Of Flux have placed their entire debut EP on their MySpace profile leading up to its release this weekend.
A State Of Flux will be holding a launch for the EP at Melbourne's Evelyn Hotel on Saturday, April 11th with special guests From The Ashes, Lamplight and Optic.
Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door. The first 50 punters through the door when it opens at 9:00pm will receive a complimentary copy of A State Of Flux's debut single "Surface Tension."
Serjical Strike Records has announced that they will be re-releasing "Serart." The album that was originally produced by Serj and Arto, "Serart - Deluxe Edition" now includes two previously unreleased remixes by Bill Laswell and Jimmy Urine (Mindless Self Indulgence). An eclectic array of textured tracks, "Serart - Deluxe Edition" mixes Middle Eastern melodies with Pan-African rhythms while shifting from classical motifs to bursts of percussion. Included with the audio "Serart - Deluxe Edition" also features a DVD containing the short film “Sun Angle Calculator,” with music scored by Serj Tankian himself.

With their new single "Sacrifice" (produced by Rafe Sweet), STEPPING STONE RECORDS artists BLOODLINE have been nominated for Best Rock Song in the 2009 North American Indigenous Image Awards.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 23 in Albequerque, New Mexico at the Isleto Casino and Resort from 6:30-11pm.

The organizers of the Rocklahoma festival, which is held at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, located four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma, has announced some new names for this years edition of the event. The biggest news is that Stryper has been confirmed to headline the main stage on Friday where they will be joined by new additions Night Ranger and Warrant. Added to the Saturday are rock legends Thin Lizzy and Sunday will see a newly confirmed performance from Skid Row.
Speaking on the festival, Stryper frontman Michael Swet said: "Rocklahoma is an event that I've heard about from peers and friends and they have always said that Stryper would be a perfect fit for this festival. Oklahoma holds a special place in my heart since my family lived in Moore, Oklahoma. I have a lot of family in Oklahoma. We're excited to finally be able to perform at Rocklahoma and look forward to an amazing night!"

Metalunderground.com has obtained an exclusive clip from As I Lay Dying's upcoming DVD set "This Is Who We Are," which is due out next week on April 14. This video clip features the story of bassist Josh Gilbert, who was previously with Gate City, a band looking to get signed to Tim Lambesis' Metal Blade imprint, High Impact Recordings.

Early Man has issued the following update about canceling the upcoming tour alongside Valient Thorr:
"Unfortunately due to an arm/back injury that I suffered after our last tour we have had to cancel all of our tour dates this month with Valient Thorr so I can get some much needed rest. We will hit the road again after this month and all summer long in support of our new full length which will come out this summer. The record is called 'Death Potion', I actually had a chance to hear a couple mastered versions of the new songs earlier today for the first time and they sound amazing. This record is clearly a new level for us as a band and I can't wait to take these songs out on the road. We will see you all soon!"

The Liverpool Echo has reported the following story about Anathema being forced to cancel a show over allegations that they worship Satan:
A LIVERPOOL band about to play to more than 1,000 fans in Tunisia had the plug pulled on their concert when authorities believed rumors they were Satanists.
Anfield group Anathema were ready to perform a sold out gig in the capital Tunis when they were told they could not go ahead.
They hoped to reschedule for a couple of night later but the gig was canceled a second time.
Guitar technician Darryl Anthony wrote in his blog: “Our promoter informed us that somebody has informed the Tunisian interior ministry that Anathema are Satan worshipers who eat black cats and drink their blood.
“The ministry have requested song lyrics to peruse over the weekend in order to put their minds at rest.”
