Portland based progressive metallers, NICODEMUS, have unveiled the web premiere of their new long form conceptual video for the track “Next In Nocturne”. The video is now available at the bands’ site, or on their MySpace page. “Next In Nocturne” is from their current release, “Vanity Is A Virtue”. The video was directed by Joni DeRouchie, a Northwest based independent filmmaker who has worked on projects such as “Remote Control” and “Bigger Than Jesus”. DeRouchie is a critically acclaimed director whose previous work has been selected for prestigious international film festivals.
The concept for the video is gothic noir mixed with performance footage and features a large cast of actors, actresses, and extras including a cameo by published gothic novelist, Jemiah Jefferson, whose works include “Voice of the Blood”, “Wounds”, and “Fiend”.
As previously reported, Nicodemus released their third album titled “Vanity Is A Virtue” through the Greek based Sonic Age Records in June of 2005. The album decidedly owes more to the progressive sound than previous Nicodemus releases, 2000’s “Tales of the Lovelorn and Necromantic”(Dark Throne Music) and 2003’s “The Supernatural Omnibus” (Dark Symphonies), which saw the band focusing on a goth/black metal based sound with progressive elements.
Next week Infernus will be mastering Gorgoroth's "Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam" at Cutting Room in Stockholm. The album is scheduled to be released 19th of June via Regain Records.

The press is invited to listen to the album and do interviews with all members of Gorgoroth at the Rock In bar 13.30 Friday 14th of April. After the pre-listening session an unmastered mp3 sample will be available for download from the band's website.

Waiting For A Miracle, the project featuring former Drowningman guitarist and drummer Hans Olson and Joe Villemaire, is now looking for a vocalist. Prospective vocalists shouldn't use the band's current material as a means to measure how to sound. The band is looking for someone who can be somewhat creative and original who can potentially tour. Interested parties can contact Hans at email@example.com.
There is a new live performance by It Dies Today playing their track “My Promise” available for viewing at the Underground Video Television website. Footage was taken at The Furnace in Syracuse NY. The band is currently recording tracks for a September release via Trustkill.

DISSECTION's video for the track "Starless Aeon" has been posted online at MP3.com. The song comes off the Swedish extreme metallers' upcoming CD, "Reinkaos", due on May 16 via The End Records (April 30 in Europe on the group's own label, Black Horizon Records).
Commented vocalist/guitarist Jon Nödtveidt: "For the making of the video to 'Starless Aeon', the first song from 'Reinkaos' to become visual, DISSECTION explore a special filming technique, shooting scenes backwards, with the band literally having to perform their music and sing the lyrics backwards. The filmed sequences have then ultimately been reversed again, with an original backwards sequence playing forwards in sync with the album version of the song. The visual result appears rather sick and disturbing, and like the rest of the video, very dark."
DEATHBREATH, the new Swedish old-school death metal project featuring former ENTOMBED drummer and main songwriter Nicke Andersson (currently the frontman of his rock 'n' roll band THE HELLACOPTERS) and vocalist Jorgen Sandstrom (who had previously fronted the Swedish death metallers GRAVE), have uploaded an unmixed preview of a song to be featured on their upcoming debut album, "Heading For Decapitation" on their MySpace page.
DEATHBREATH's current lineup is completed by guitarist Robert Persson (who plays in THE HELLACOPTERS guitarist Robert Dahlqvist's side project THUNDER EXPRESS) and bassist Mange Hedquist.
Speaking to Sweden's Close-Up magazine last fall, Andersson stated about the project, "I haven't written any lyrics yet, but the music is so old-school that people today wouldn't even get that it's old-school. It's more like [DEATH's legendary 1987 debut] 'Scream Bloody Gore'. It's nothing like [ENTOMBED's] 'Wolverine Blues'. That style has already been done so well. At the same time there's only one 'Scream Bloody Gore', so a couple of albums like that I could put together.
"After having read the book 'Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal and Grindcore' and getting a kick, I went out and bought a lot of records. It was so much fun reading the book; it brought back so many memories. I bought POSSESSED's 'Seven Churches' on CD."
Sandstrom had previously played with Andersson in ENTOMBED as the group's bassist; he is also currently singing for THE PROJECT HATE and playing bass for VICIOUS ART.
Norwegian death metallers BLOODTHORN will follow up their Inferno Festival appearance in April by filling the slot held by KEEP OF KALESSIN on the European tour with CARPATHIAN FOREST and HATE, as KEEP OF KALESSIN will have to fly home to Norway to play a few gigs there. They all meet up again in London, playing at the Underworld, and from there KEEP OF KALESSIN will continue their trek. After appearing at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival in August, BLOODTHORN will embark on a Scandinavian tour with VADER and NIGHTRAGE.
The track "Blood and Iron" is still available online to download here. The song comes off the Norwegian death metal band's new album, "Genocide", which was released in Europe in February via Morningstar Records. A video teaser containing sound clips of many of the songs that appear on "Genocide" has been posted online. The teaser can also be viewed in an online player on the official BLOODTHORN MySpace page.
"Genocide" was recorded at Godt Selskap Studio (CHTON, GRIFFIN, KEEP OF KALESSIN) with Knut Fug Prytz (NECROPHAGIA) producing. The CD, which has a running time of nearly 50 minutes, marks the group's first release with guitarist Ihizahg (ex-PERISHED, WURDULAK, live guitarist for MAYHEM).

A representative for Dark Essence Records has confirmed that TAAKE frontman Hoest is doing time in a Norwegian prison at the moment. "He will be out in a couple of months, and will then finish the work on the new TAAKE release," the representative said. "Yes, there will be more coming from TAAKE in the near future! More info about that will come. We can also mention that C. Corax who plays guitar on the '...Doedskvad' and '...Bjoergvin...' albums, also is in prison at the moment, but for a bit longer time."
TAAKE's third album, "Doedskvad", was released last year via Dark Essence Records. The band had previously released two albums on the Wounded Love label: "Nattestid..." (1999) and "Bjoergvin" (2002). "Doedskvad" is the last installment in this trilogy.

The CD, which is expected to be released in May via Dark Essence Records, will also feature a guest appearance on vocals by Marius Lynghjem from the Norwegian experimentalists CORVINE.
"The Journeys and Experiences of Death" will include the "Helsviti" mini-album as a bonus, along with several live tracks and videos.
BIRDS OF PREY has inked a deal with Relapse Records to release its debut album, Weight of the Wound.
BIRDS OF PREY is a studio project featuring the creative collective of Erik Larson (ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY) and Bo Leslie (THE LAST VAN ZANT / ex-THROTTLEROD) on guitars, Summer Welch (BARONESS) on bass, Dave Witte (BURNT BY THE SUN, MUNICIPAL WASTE) on drums and Ben Hogg (BEATEN BACK TO PURE) on vocals. The quintet holed up at the Karma Productions studio in Richmond, VA with Cory Smoot (aka Flatus Maximus of GWAR) this past December to record Weight of the Wound.
Leslie comments; "”Excited" isn't a very kvlt, true, or metal thing to say, but I'm excited to be a part of the Birds Of Prey and I am waaaaaayyy into "Weight Of The Wound" being a Relapse release. We set out with the intentions of writing and recording an "old school" type record and this is what came out. Hope y'all dig it, and to quote MORRIAH, let the sword descend.”
Weight of the Wound is expected to see a late July 2006 release date.
