Wasaga Beach, ON's melodic deathcore band The Tide Will Take Us has announced it will be officially releasing its full-length album "Putrid Dynasty," produced by Jon Howard of Threat Signal and Bjorn “Speed” Strid of Soilwork, on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012.
The album is the follow up to the group's self-titled 5-song debut EP, produced by Kent Sheehey (The Vegas Wake Up) and is a sonic fury that is immediately audible as it rips, pounds and rages through your ears. Song names like “Choke On Your Regret,” “Putrid Dynasty,” “Concubine Queen,” and “Metastasize & Consume” demonstrate TTWTU's reach to the deepest, darkest abscesses of the listener’s brain before even a single note sounds and conjures grotesque imagery. The band commented:
"When gearing up to record 'Putrid Dynasty' we wanted to expand our sound, but also keep the same feel as our self-titled EP. Working with two professional musicians was quite the change, though, as it pushed us to write the best material we've written so far. It was a hard adjustment to make and was also very intimidating to work with Jon Howard, Canadian native and vocalist of Threat Signal, but just as rattling if not more to work with Björn 'Speed' Strid of the Swedish Metalcore act Soilwork. We got to explore various tone options for drums, guitars and bass and the vocal tracking was extremely fun and experimental. We are very proud of our full-length album "Putrid Dynasty" and we are very excited for its May 2012 release."
TTWU is now streaming the first single from the album "Choke on Your Regret" through the player below. More...
Spanish thrash metallers Angelus Apatrida are back with a new studio album entitled "The Call," which is to be released on April 30th in Europe and digitally on May 8th in North America via Century Media Records.
The same creative team that worked on the band's previous release, Clockwork, has teamed-up with the group again for this new effort: it was once again recorded in Moita, Portugal at Ultrasound Studio with producer Daniel Cardoso (ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN, ANATHEMA, etc.) and the striking artwork was handled by Gustavo Sazes from Abstrata (ARCH ENEMY, KRISIUN, etc.).
In regards to the artwork, ANGELUS APATRIDA comments: "The cover presents the character of the creature that's gonna start the Armageddon. We wanted the beast to look majestic and powerful and we definitely think that Gustavo achieved that. We believe the cover fully represents the spirit of what you are going to listen...and you better be prepared, cause is coming to get you!"
Check out the artwork below, and the track listing is as follows:
1. You Are Next
2. At The Gates Of Hell

Croatian Gothic doom metal band Ashes You Leave announced that the band's new drummer is Saša Vukosav (Father). The band is currently in pre-production and then will enter the studio to record it's sixth release "The Cure For Happiness." The album is scheduled for a 2012 release. The album will also feature new vocalist Giada "Jade" Etro.
The band commented on Vukosav:
It’s with both pride and joy that we welcome Saša Vukosav, one of Croatia’s most talented drummers, to the AYL family. Saša started playing drums at the age of 16 while he was living in Dubrovnik. He moved to Rijeka, to study, where he joined the alternative/metal band FATHER and played with them for eight years. In that period he recorded one album with them and toured Europe quite extensively. During that time he participated in various projects besides Father and that is when he got involved with AYL for the first time. He joined the bend as a touring member in 2004/2005 and participated in the pre-production stage of the Songs Of The Lost album. Due to other commitments the collaboration wasn’t more extensive. Several years later once again Saša stepped in and helped us in the pre-production stage of our new album, called The Cure For Happiness.
Since the drummer seat for AYL was once again vacant there was only one person we wanted on that position. We didn’t want to have a revolving seat, we wanted a serious and a permanent member of the band. Fortunately for us, this time around, Saša said yes! Since he was involved with the band before this felt like we picked up right where we left off.

Friday, April 20, 2012 @ HOT SHOT Records, Hannover (5:30 pm)
Monday, April 23, 2012 @ HOT SHOT Records, Bremen (5:30 pm)
Tuesday, April 24, 2012 @ SATURN, Hamburg (5:30 pm)
In the remaining part of the message, Kasparek indicated that apparently a national socialist website is using the band's "Riding the Storm" song as a theme and that he did not give permission for the use of the song nor is affiliated in any way with the site. Long time Running Wild fans are well aware of Rolf's vehement stance against national socialism. The song "Bad to the Bone" from the 1989 release "Death or Glory" is a testament to that stance.

Mixed by Dan Swanö (Opeth/Katatonia) at Unisound, "The Devil’s Resolve" continues with all the trademarks one has come to associate with Barren Earth: brutal riffs, gloomy growls, majestic melodies, as well as acoustic and progressive passages. But this time the band has delved even deeper, taking this sophomore effort to the extremes through musical landscapes encompassing brutal death metal, doomy vocals, trippy 70’s prog. lunacy, pastoral passages and even bagpipes. S.F. Bay area blackened thrash act DragonLord, which is led by Testament’s Eric Peterson and was recently featured in Metalunderground.com's Unearthing the Metal Underground column, just inked a new record deal with Spinefarm/Universal Records.
The band plans to enter the recording studio very soon to start work on a third album. A release date is set for this fall. Further details will be announced as they are made available.
Peterson stated, “This time around we’ve created some pretty mature sounding symphonic blackened thrash. It will have more of a melodic touch to it and memorable song structures. It’s still gonna be heavy as hell, but it’s gonna be a well-rounded record. New songs 'Kings Frost,' 'The Devil’s Insight,' and 'Battle at Mordor' will surely raise the hairs on your back!”
