Launch Radio Networks reports: KORN tentatively plans to release its eighth studio album on July 17, according to an interview with the band that ran on a Los Angeles radio station yesterday morning (Tuesday, March 6). The group has been recording the disc with temporary drummer Terry Bozzio and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told us that Bozzio has taken KORN's music in a new direction. "It's a little less straightforward, I think, than what we're used to, and it's a lot more technical," he said. "I think it's probably more like a progressive KORN that people are gonna be used to. Very heavy though."
Bozzio is considered one of rock's greatest living drummers and is best known for his work with FRANK ZAPPA and MISSING PERSONS. He is filling in for founding KORN drummer David Silveria, who's taking a "hiatus" from the group this year.
Shaffer also said in the radio interview that his wife recently gave birth to a son named Israel. The guitarist, who was married once before, got hitched to his current wife in May.
KORN's "MTV Unplugged" CD arrived in stores yesterday (Tuesday, March 6). It documents the band's first-ever full-length acoustic performance, which was taped last December in New York City. The CD includes several songs not featured on the broadcast version, which premiered last week.

Illdisposed are anticipating a September release for their forthcoming album via Roadrunner Australia.
Commented by guitarist/songwriter Jakob Batten: "I have five complete songs ready now, they are recorded in my home studio (instrumentally) and I'm very happy about the result. Three more songs are in progress. This time we're going in a more old-school direction, more heavy bass-drum parts and way less electronics. We'll demo some songs very soon. The pick of studio for the next album hasn't been decided yet, but we definitely want a more raw and heavy sound this time."
The as yet untitled album will be their third for Roadrunner.

"After spending the last year in composing our new songs and in producing CADAVERIA's third full length album, we are glad and proud to announce the recent agreement with Season of Mist. We are extremely satisfied by the new tracks and very excited for this join, that will assure the promotion this album deserves. CADAVERIA want to thank Michael/Season of Mist for this opportunity and all fans for their patience and never-ending support. Three years passed since the "Far Away From Conformity" album, but it is worth the wait: this album is with no doubt the best one we have released so far and it will be IN YOUR BLOOD (as the title says) for the rest of your days."
Fresno, CA-based Six Ounce Gloves may have released its debut album, “Timing Is Everything,” last year, but the band continues to tour extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and California, much to the pleasure of its growing fanbase. The band plans to continue hitting those areas hard and heavy with dates throughout March and April with shows in California, Washington, and Oregon (see below tour schedule). The band’s latest single, “Where Do I Go,” is currently being spun on KBRE (Merced, CA) and KRZR (Fresno, CA).
Says band guitarist Chad Brummer: "We have been working hard on getting multiple dates back to back to keep everyone on their toes, both the fans and the band. We have been working the Pacific Northwest for almost a year, and each of the five times we’ve toured, we have seen the crowds getting bigger and bigger, with Seattle being an especially good market. We hope to expand our tour routing to include the entire country soon, and we’re looking for a booking agent to help us do that.”
After getting a big break when they opened for Korn after winning a local battle of the bands, Six Ounce Gloves quickly saw their song, “Finding Light” become the #2 requested song on the Fresno hard rock radio station 103.7 KRZR. Since then, they’ve been asked to open for Papa Roach, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and Taproot, among others.
