There is now more “Trouble” for The Skull - the band featuring original Trouble members vocalist Eric Wagner and drummer Jeff “Oly” Olson alongside Trouble’s longtime bassist Ron Holzner and Sacred Dawn guitarist Lothar Keller - as the group has now recruited former Trouble bassist Chuck Robinson as a new guitar player.
Jeff Olson comments: “We are excited and honored that Chuck Robinson has accepted our invitation to join the band. He is the perfect fit for The Skull.
“I’ve always enjoyed rehearsing with Chuck as he is disciplined with his art. He’ll surely bring a bonus to the band with his experience as a former Trouble member and as a seasoned musician who utilizes both his talented song writing ability and his exceptional recording skills. We are looking forward to tour with our brother again.”
Olson added: “Chuck is more then a bass player. He grew up playing guitar with his father, also a very talented guitarist. Eric, Ron, Lothar, and myself know that Chuck is more than capable for the job. He’ll bring chops with a heavy groove to our debut album, as well as bring his charisma to the stage.”

Dutch metal band Martyr are hard at work on the follow up to the band's full length fourth studio effort and follow up to the 2011 release "Circle of 8" (see review here). In the latest report, the band states:
"After some amazing studio sessions with producer Jack Nobelen, Martyr has taken time off to work on the next couple of tracks for a return to 'The Temple Of Doom' in March.
"In March we will experience and try a few different recording techniques as well in perspective of usage of different amps, different recording techniques for Wilfried’s drums and more.
"It may be clear, as we said earlier, that we want to go for the best for this new Martyr record. That might mean it will take more time before a future release but it will be worth it. Same goes for our song arrangements.
"The first couple of songs recorded will be taken back to Martyr's rehearsal room for critical listening sessions and re-arrangements. Although the songs are already sounding amazing and in our 'humble' opinion extremely good, we want the best of the best!
"Meanwhile Rop and Rick will be working on lyrics at the same time. And we also have some great live performances ahead of us. Just look at our upcoming gig list Meaning: we are quite busy and we love it!"
20 Buck Spin is proud to announce the signing of American metal outfit Obsequiae. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Hailing from the great Northern end of Minnesota, the band creates a unique, organic blend of dark, melodic black and death metal infused with traditional medieval music.
"Obsequiae's debut album, Suspended In The Brume Of Eos, was released on CD via Bindrune Recordings in 2011. Having remained an in-house favorite since its initial release, 20 Buck Spin is proud to confirm the upcoming release of Suspended In The Brume Of Eos on vinyl for the first time on May 27th. Repackaged with new artwork the new vinyl edition will act as a reintroduction of Obsequiae in advance of the band's anticipated second LP, which will surface on 20 Buck Spin later in 2014.
"Conjuring images of a medieval Europe where modern life has yet to infringe, Suspended In The Brume Of Eos harkens back to the pre-wimp-out melodic Scandinavian death metal of the 1990s; dark, aggressive, conscious of songcraft and unintimidated by complexity. Their deep knowledge of European traditional music and instrumentation is evident throughout, particularly in the ornate, colorful interludes that tie the album together like tapestries in a ruined castle."
