Darkane guitarist Christofer Malmström has issued the following update from the road:
"Metalheads! Here’s Christofer with an update from the road! We are cruising towards San Francisco as I write this. Such beautiful sights outside the bus windows!!! The tour is still going very well for DARKANE, although we’ve had some serious problems with illness and everybody except for [vocalist] Jens [Broman] is in a pretty bad shape right now. After [2nd guitarist] Klas [Ideberg] left us in Mokena we were joined by great guitar shredder Toby Knapp, but unfortunately he also got ill and had to leave the tour after nine shows. Thanks Toby, you did a great job!!! We have now decided to do this tour as a four piece unit, and it’s working out pretty well I must say.
"We did 9 shows in snowy Canada, and the audience has been great all the way. We have played pretty weird places such as a campus and a roller skating rink, but wherever we’ve been, we’ve felt very welcome! Now we are looking forward to do the West Coast and get some warm air in our sore throats.
"That’s it for now! Take care and if we haven’t met yet, go check the shows out! We have about three weeks left on this tour!"

Rose Tattoo, Australia’s favourite Aussie rock legends will be performing for one night only at the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast on Sunday, April 12. Presented by Ice Management and Productions, Angry Anderson and the formidable band that are Rose Tattoo will rock out the Cooly with songs from classic albums like "Scarred for Life," "Southern Stars," "Blood Brothers," "Pain" and of course the self titled "Rose Tattoo" album released in 1978.
Throughout the line-up changes over the years, a solid sound has remained the constant with Rose Tattoo and whether you call it hard rock or blues rock, the music is a hot mix of slide guitars and pounding hooks, with a sharp, tight rhythm. And you can’t go past the unmistakable voice of Angry Anderson as he belts through hits like “Bad Boy for Love” and “We Can’t Be Beaten.”
“Blood Brothers,” the latest album from Rose Tattoo, pays a touching tribute to founding members Pete Wells and Ian Rilen who both lost their battles with cancer in the last few years. The album combines the traditional sounds of that original rock line-up with a modern edge and high quality that is demanded from today’s taste makers. It’s powerful, unrelenting and wildly uncompromising, making it one of the best albums to come out of the Rose Tattoo camp yet.
Rose Tattoo play the Coolangatta Hotel on Sunday, April 12 and tickets are available from the venue and Oztix. Visit www.oztix.com.au for more information or call 1300 762 545.

I'm proud to announce that our new album Earthsblood charted even higher than our previous album, which is amazing in this day and age of downloads. Thanks to everyone who went out and picked it up. It means a lot to the guys in the band. Right now, we're in the midst of a European Tour with our bros in ILL NINO. The tour is actually going very well. The clubs are packed, and we're having a great time with Ill Nino. They are great friends, and it feels wonderful to be around familar faces in a foreign land. Europe seems to get a little better each time we come back. A few more fans show up each time with more enthusiasm, and we are certainly determined to make it over here. “When we get back to the states, we only have a few days off before we have to do a few warm up shows that lead into the No Fear Energy tour with LAMB OF GOD, AS I LAY DYING, CHILDREN OF BODOM and MUNICIPAL WASTE. Congrats to our friends in LOG for debuting at #2 on the Billboard chart, showcasing that metal is alive and strong in a big way. I expect these sentiments to continue on the tour. This tour is going to be fucking EPIC! I have a feeling people will be talking about these shows for years! This tour is going to be a huge launching pad for this new album. We will be signing cd's at merch on this tour, so be sure to come by and say hello. We haven't locked down the set list 100%, but we only have 25 minutes, so that's around 5 songs. Expect a couple new songs, a few fan favorites, and maybe a wild card in the mix. Can't wait to get back home, and rock for you people. It's gonna be a rager! Peace."

"Release dates for both the standard and deluxe version of the CD have been set for May 12th (US, Canada) . The official version contains 10 songs in a jewel case. The deluxe edition has 14 songs and is packaged in an elaborate digipack with a 16 page lyric and photo booklet. All four bonus tracks in the deluxe package are additional brand new songs. Why two editions? “Pricing, really” says Rob Thorne. “Old-school Oathbangers won’t have any qualms paying $14 for the deluxe, but newcomers to the band might, and we’re working on an exclusive with iTunes to feature the album at a discounted price. You just can’t do that with 14 songs.”
‘Sacred Oath’ will be available for mp3 download through all the major online retailers, but the band expects to make an announcement about an iTunes exclusive in the coming weeks.
“Much of the recording of this album has just been a whirlwind. The band is in a zone,” said Thorne. Sacred Oath’s last album ‘…’Till Death Do Us Part’ spent a few weeks on the iTunes homepage as one of eight best live metal albums in 2008. More...
