Oderus Urungus has taken the unprecedented step of pledging sex with anyone who votes for GWAR to win the 2011 Revolver Golden Gods award for Best Live Performance. GWAR is up against industry mega-weights like Rammstein, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth and Sevendust.
"Our show is reality...we don't know what you mean by live performance...we get attacked by dinosaurs while doing what we enjoy best---luring you to your death with our mutant metal--and then slaughtering you! Don't let this category be won by a band whose show is just as good as the millions they can spend on it, all for an hour and a half show......vote for the band where the show never stops! Vote for GWAR!!!!"
But as an added "perk" Oderus has pledged that anybody who votes for GWAR will receive a sexual act of some kind...once again it's better to let Oderus speak for himself.
"I pledge to have sex with anyone who votes for us. It will all be arranged thru the interweb, and on the next tour I will personally meet our supporters out behind the trash dumpsters and fuck them, suck them, whatever they want. If they don't want to do that, then I will have sex with something they own, like a dog, or a lunch-box. I will also be glad to rough-up anyone, ya know, smack ya around a bit, throw you in the garbage, hell even kick ya in the tummy....won't kill ya though...want you to be able to brag about it to your co-workers."
Fans can vote at this location.
Balsac the Jaws of Death, GWAR's steel-faced guitarist had this to say about his lead singers latest desperate attempt to get publicity:
"Oderus having sex with the fans behind the dumpster is nothing to brag about. It happens all the time. But please, please, don't let Sevendust beat us..."

To be sharing the same stage as the guys in HED P.E. and Mushroomhead on a nightly basis, not to mention having the ability to mingle and shake hands with both old fans and new is an amazing opportunity for us. This metal-core squad continues to refine their unique sound while maintaining a solid reputation as one of the region’s most exciting and energetic live acts. Boasting determination as their greatest attribute, Serianna formed in late 2006 as merely high school friends with a bonded passion for heavy music. The lineup was solidified in 2009 when Chicago native Chris Nutting signed on as the band's front man. Nutting quickly made his presence known contributing his raw and emotional vocal abilities and bringing Serianna to a previously unreached tier of musicianship. More...

"We have made an important decision that is based on a changing music business. We feel that we don't want to 'give' away our songs to a label so that they can squeeze every little penny out of our fans, money that we never get to see anyway. Then we would just rather give it to you for free! Of course we need to earn money on our music, otherwise we won't be able to continue making it for you, but it should be done in a sincere and honest way.
"As a big thank you to all our faithful and awesome fans we will let anyone and everyone download our coming album 'Sweet Relief' totally free from our website, complete with booklet! The album will also be available for purchase at all the bigger music-stores online, like Itunes, Amazon etc. It will be available for free on our website at the 29th of April.

Massacre Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Italy's My Black Light:
"My Black Light was born in 2008 from Rudy's and Monica's common passion for metal, especially gothic metal.
"Indeed they have been playing this kind of music for years in different cover bands. It is the first months of 2008 when they decided to try and write their own songs and bring them to light through a new project called My Black Light. Once they completed the band lineup, they decided to start with some cover songs to improve band harmony and their personal approach to music. After six months spent composing and playing on stage, MBL attended to several music contests getting success and good results.
"Thanks to this, MBL made an important choice in December 2009 by attending the winter edition of Music Village 2009. Their intention was to confront themselves with the experts on music business in order to figure out if they have any chance to succeed.
"The final jury judgment was positive and gave them the strength to go on. If you're living in Italy or plan a trip to Italy in the next weeks, you can enjoy My Black Light live at the following dates:
02.04. IT Santhià - Piazza Zapelloni @ Maratona Rock
15.04. IT Turin - Infernocafe (w/ Moonrage, Inhuman Behaviours)
30.04. IT Romagnano Sesia - Rock 'N' Roll Arena (w/ Midnattsol, Leaves' Eyes, Lust For Oblivion)
Cyprus power metal act Arryan Path has issued the following announcement about changing the band's name and releasing upcoming material:
"In the last few months, things have started to move fast in the Arrayan Path camp, thus, we have a bunch of announcements to make. Some of them will probably come as a surprise to you but the truth is that we are all extremely excited about the following.
"Firstly, and maybe most importantly, Arrayan Path will not have just one album for you but two in a short period of time! We have worked our arses off during the last few months and have written lots and lots of good material! After discussing it with our label Pitch Black Records, we decided to put out the next album in 2 parts! The first one we announced already a while back. It will be titled 'Ira Imperium' and will be out in early September. The second album will be titled 'Stigmata' and will be out in early 2012! The albums do not share the same concept and are not connected lyrically in any way but musically they are similar. 'Stigmata' will be a bit more dark and epic but more or less both albums will sound like they were made to complete each other!
"As you may have noticed, we keep misspelling our name and, well, you're right! Due to obvious reasons and the fact that we grew tired of trying to convince people on the meaning of our name, we have decided to add an extra 'A' in the word 'arryan' thus changing the pronunciation of the name and of course completely eliminating even the tiniest of concerns that this band is in any way related to Nazism or any kind of racism or other extreme political views. This was always evident through our lyrics and live shows of course but despite our best efforts to try to convince people otherwise some still chose to look at it differently. More...

"A few minutes ago I received an upsetting phone call from Tom (Angelripper - vocals, bass) and Makka (Markus "Makka" Freiwald - drums) as Bernemann (Bernd "Bernemann" Kost - guitar) has been rushed to hospital.

Adam "Nergal" Darski, the frontman of Polish blackened death metal outfit Behemoth, has given his first interview since he was diagnosed with leukemia in the Summer of last year. Speaking exclusively to MetalSucks.net, Nergal stated:
"It's not like I'm completely healthy or something. But I got new bone marrow and the transplant went totally fine. The new bone marrow is accepted by my organisms. It's not [fighting] against my organisms, which happens very often in such cases. But in my case, everything is going according to plan. There have been no delays. My blood was checked every week, and now every two weeks, so actually I reduced the amount of blood tests that they've been taking. Everything is going almost perfect and in the direction that it should. There is no reason to be worried. Physically I'm getting better. Obviously my muscles are not the same, not as strong. I get tired quite easily still. It's still getting better. For example, [laughs] three weeks ago, I tried to do push-ups; I did three. Today, I did 11. That should tell you how it's improving all the time, and every next push-up makes me happy."
