Through the good and bad it has created a bond; we've had a wedding, a funeral and have seen each others kids being born and growing-up. Everything passed in a flash and we are looking back on it with a smile."
"We would like to thank him and Veroniek for all the great moments, passion and devotion. We wish you the best for the future! You can still see Stephen on stage with the upcoming theatre tour and in the future with his band 'My Favorite Scar'. If you are curious check their site www.myfavoritescar.com or their Myspace site. We've been talking to bands and fans everywhere to get their favorite mosh pit stories. This week we have an unusual story from Goes Cube about playing in an art museum:
Our first national tour (which was in 2007) featured a show at a small art museum in Nashville, TN. The opening act was this guy who played real old style blues. He even looked the part with the fedora and the pinstripe suit. Well I mean, ALMOST. His clothes looked the part. Otherwise, he was a white kid in his early 20s who kind of looked like the only blues he'd ever seen were his aqua-colored Izods at home next to his boat shoes. But anyways, this kid played a set. Then, according to witness, started snorting massive amounts of cocaine and drinking a lot of Jack Daniels.
So we're playing, and there's a few people there. Not many. But it's a fun show. All of a sudden, here comes the chemically-fueled blues singer. He starts pushing people around, trying to get a mosh pit going. A few people complied. Then he starts pulling paintings and sculptures off the wall and smashing them. He's slamming down sculptures and then stomping on them. He gets a painting at one point and actually smashes it across our drummer's back, which resulted in a nice gash. We ended our set.
Bad luck for him, the museum manager was in attendance. He's, understandably, very upset. He says to the culprit, "Pay for it all right now, or I call the police." The culprit responds by telling the guy to fuck off or some such thing. Then he runs out the back, steals a skateboard out of a car, and gets about a block away before---as I heard it---literally passing out on the street. The cops are on their way at this point, of course. They arrive, interview everyone, and then find the perp. He's thrown in the back of a black-and-white, and he starts hysterically crying. We saw him mouth the word "help" before being hauled off to jail.
The booker of the show called us later that year to tell his he'd been convicted of a handful of crimes including criminal destruction, theft, resisting arrest and would actually be doing some time.
Goes Cube is wrapping up their tour with East of the Wall . The band is supporting their limited edition single "Property," also featuring the b-side "The Ban Has Been Lifted."
Check back every Tuesday for more tales from the mosh pit.
Throne Of Malediction has checked in with the following update about their upcoming full-length album:
"Here is a general blog posting a few lyrics to some songs of ours and some album news..... Just so you know, the songs on our player are PRE-release and not final tracks. Our debut album is about done being recorded and ready for mastering soon. We are using a rather good little European indie label (that has some awesome future label-mates for us) and maybe a sub label for our release.
"We will announce our label when we get more done and a release date. Most likely a late summer 2010 release. We may most likely title the album 'Season's of Death.' Our Vicious Angel Model friend from Canada, Cruelty is on our cover. We actually have been using our cover pic for a while (on our default...)
"We will have the final art soon too... So, for anyone who cares, we are doing well and going strong. We all appreciate the surprising support and Thank Celory and Damo for helping us with funds when we needed amps. Also Satanica Records for releasing our Irreverant Soul EP too, we are getting great reviews for that so far."
Holy Grail has checked in from the recording studio with footage of vocalist James Paul Luna discussing the upcoming album. The video clip can be viewed below.
Sonata Arctica keyboardist Henrik Klingenberg has checked in with a video report from the tour rehearsal room as the band prepares for their second North American tour in support of the new album "The Days of Grays." The video clip can be viewed below.
Arch Enemy will play their first ever show on the Faroe Islands at the 2010 edition of the G! festival. The band will headline on July 16th and issued the following statement about the festival appearance:

Festival is situated in the picturesque seaside village of Göta and has redefined the whole musical landscape of the Faroe Islands with its international scale and visionary scope. Over the last couple of years we have been fortunate enough to play a lot of new exciting territories for the band and we're extremely pleased to add the Faroe Islands to that ever-growing list!"

Norwegian metallers Escapetor have issued the following update about recruiting a second guitarist:
"Escapetor will shortly announce a new member to the band. Since Ole Egeli´s departure during the fall of 2009, the need for a second guitarist has been apparent, even though Escapetor kept on playing live-shows with Ragnars guitar alone. Finally the right candidate got our attention. This is a serious and talented guitarist with excellent guitar skills, live-experience and a strong sense for composing and arranging rock music with emphasis on metal. Escapetor will announce the poor dude properly in person in April when new promo-shots are available.
"The decision to take on another musician in the band will slightly affect our plans for the new record. Until further notice the planned recording sessions for May 2010 will be delayed to get our new guy a chance to participate on the recordings and on arranging the new material. This will probably postpone the release-date of the record as well. Regarding live performances we expect to be ready for the stage by mid-May. The next live-performance will be Helgåråkken June 19. Until next time, STAY TUNED!"

We have released every BLS album down here ever since, except for one. Zakk is like family and it’s an honour to work with BLS again. We are really excited about the reports we are receiving and can’t wait to hear the finished product. We are getting ready to fire up the machine and really push the new album over the top here in Australia. Zakk knows we will get down and dirty again to push this album. We are really looking forward to Zakk and the boys touring again here in 2011!"
Call it Celtic, folk or black metal; whatever you label Primordial, there is no doubt about the sheer creativity that has come out of the Irish metal band since the early 90’s. The band is one of the few that doesn’t rush out a new album, taking its time to craft each album with attention to details. 2007’s “To The Nameless Dead” was another stellar release from the band and now the band is celebrating the release of their first-ever live DVD, “All Empires Fall.” Vocalist Alan A. Nemtheanga recently spoke to me about the DVD, the pressures that come about from filming a live show, an update on the new album, and the band’s involvement in the re-releasing of past Primordial albums. Norway's 1349's upcoming fifth full length, "Demonoir," due out April 27th in North America via Prosthetic Records, was recorded at Studio Nyhagen, in Norway with Tom G. Warrior (Hellhammer, Celtic Frost).
Ravn comments on the recording process, "In hindsight, it is our belief that Tom was the missing piece of the puzzle, adding that element of heritage we needed. He represented the direct link to the Creators! We also need to mention three other contributors; Ronnie leTekrö - one of the most acclaimed guitarists on the globe, wrenched his soul inside out as he recorded one of the leads for 'Psalm 7:77;' a truly breathtaking experience. We had some excellent, wicked grand piano play carried out by Canadian pianist Tony Caputo. And then there was Thorbjørn Benjaminsen of Hornorkesteret that recorded some spine chilling themes with his stringed reindeer horns, adding a touch of natural grimness to the electric inferno."
Shock rock legend Alice Cooper recently discussed his plans for his next studio album on his radio show, which takes airs on Planet Rock. He stated:
"(Our new album) hasn’t been recorded yet but we’ve got ten demos done already on it. I think it’s gonna be called The Night Shift."
It has not even been a year since the launch of Megadeth's latest critically acclaimed "Endgame," and Dave Mustaine has already begun the process of recording new material. In an interview with XM radio's Jose Mangin, Dave has revealed that with the new lineup they have recorded a new track for possible use on future album endeavors. This new, top-secret track is named "Sudden Death," and defies the typical Megadeth song by its length. It has been reported that it is over five minutes long and has more solos than usual. No information is given on when this track will be available to the public.
