It was a really hard decision for me, bandmates, label, and manager. But we finally decided to keep the tour rocking without me.

Ben Murphy, the mastermind behind the UK based blackened death metal project Undead Pandemic has issued the following statement about his upcoming release, "Nunslut," set to be released this year:
"'The Rising' - UNDEAD PANDEMIC's first full-length album is an amalgamation of different thought processes and inspirations centred to one (albeit double-entendre) meaning/subject.
"I intended it to be a nod towards Romero, Fulci and old-school survival horror video games - 'Unholy Sonata' being a chance to catch your breath - much like the save rooms in the Resident Evil (Biohazard) series of video games. I wanted to retain the 60's/70's/80's atmosphere that generally surrounds the zombie-themed genre which was great inspiration for the way the album went and the overall sound and production. I wanted the predominantly programmed drums to keep the processed feel; when inspiration comes from old-school video games, B-movies and cult fiction, I thought it'd be fitting for the drums to sound like a throw-back compared to todays production standards. I think it worked pretty well as part of the composition but hasn't generally been recieved with the same understanding behind it!
"I think it was a Dutch reviewer who compared the sound to, or reminded them of, music from the original Terminator films - which was pretty much bang on the mark in terms of relevance to the era the album was inspired by. More...
