Canadian heavy metal band, CAULDRON, recently made their first ever trip to the UK, to support ANVIL at a top-secret premiere for the new documentary movie, "Anvil! The Story of Anvil." CAULDRON followed that show with a gig with label mates GAMA BOMB the following night.
CAULDRON vocalist/bassist JASON DECAY comments on the band's trip:
"It was a pretty cool last minute trip to the birthplace of heavy metal. We played a couple shows, one with our buds ANVIL in front of a packed Shepherd's Bush Empire crowd of unsuspecting movie-goers, and another nice little sweaty club gig with GAMA BOMB. Other than that and in between food poisonings, we just did a slew of interviews, photos and beverages to consume to coincide with the Euro release of 'CHAINED TO THE NITE' in April." More...
UK technical death metal sensations THE BOY WILL DROWN have put two brand new tracks, "Deep Throat" and "Suis La Luna," up on their official MySpace page.
Dutch death metallers, GOD DETHRONED, have revealed the cover artwork for their upcoming new album "Passiondale," which will be released on April 28th in the US and on the 24th/27th of April in Europe.
"Passiondale" is a concept album about the battle of Passendale around the city of the same name in World War I.
CKY has revealed the cover art for their new album, "Carver City." The artwork can be seen here. "Carver City" will be released on May 19th
Austrailian metal band, Parkway Drive, has announced a short run of east coast Austrailian shows this week en route to Melbourne's Push Over Festival. Joining them on the shows will be Dropsaw and Crime Scene.

San Francisco’s SLOUGH FEG will release their new album, "Ape Uprising" this May. The release dates are on May 8th in Germany and Europe, May 11th in UK, and June 2nd in USA/Canada via Cruz Del Sur Music. The band used Justin Phelps and Justin Weis for recording the album and mastered the album at Traxwork studio. The cover artwork was created by Californian artist Larry Luna. A vinyl version of Ape Uprising will be released by the end of April by the German label, Iron Kodex, in a limited edition of 666 copies. More...
Blackened death metal band Graveworm has issued the following update about the recording of their upcoming album:
"We have just finished recording the drums for the new CD! Everything went really well and we are very satisfied with the result!
"We will start to record the guitars on Monday... and so, piece by piece, we are getting forwards. You can see some new pictures of the RECORDING SESSION 2009 here."

Geelong based metal band Dawn of Retribution has posted an update on the band's recent and near future activities.
"Just to give everybody an idea of where we are at, seeing as we haven’t been gigging and have been fairly quiet in the public eye so far this year. We are nearly finished up with the writing for the last song on the album. We will be booking in to record our drum tracks very soon, followed by the guitars and vocals in the coming months. The material for the album is extremely solid, we’re very happy with it, you guys are going to love it!
"Its looking like we will be hoping for a release around mid year of our debut album 'The Plan To End Humanity' depending on a few things, but fingers crossed! Currently, we are pressing on with our album without a bass player. Chris McEwin is going to take on bass duties for the recording of the album, whilst we currently search on for a permanent bass player. Keep checking back for more updates on the release and progress of the album, we hope to see you all at some shows in the not too distant future!"
Powerwolf has issued the following update about their upcoming album:

Guillotine is now confirmed to be one of the bands in support of Unleashed's second leg of the Hammer Battalion North Tour 2009. Due to the last-minute entry into this tour, GUILLOTINE will kick start the tour in their hometown at Umea onwards.

French death metal band Hacride have announced a show for the release of their upcoming album "Lazarus." The release show is set for May 10th at Trix in Antwerpen, Belgium. The promotional poster for the show can be viewed here.
Rock legends AC/DC filmed a new music video this past friday in Paris, France for the song "Anything Goes" which comes from their latest studio album, "Black Ice." The video was directed by David Mallet who has worked with the band for years and was filmed at the empty Bercy Arena with additional footage filmed at the concert that night.
Ozzy Osbourne will be the featured musical guest on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on the Friday, March 27 episode (which technically airs the morning of March 28 beginning at 12:05 a.m.). More details will follow soon.
Razor of Occam has issued the following statement about streaming a new song on their official MySpace page:

Finnish death metallers Sotajumala have issued the following update about signing to Cobra Records:
"Our new label is Cobra. Even though a relatively new label, the people behind Cobra have been involved in music industry for a long time. Other new bands on their roster are Deathchain and Survivors Zero (with The Coffinshakers being the first band on the label). We negotiated with several labels, but in the end the decision came easily. We trust them and they trust us. Things are certainly looking good for us right now!"
The 2009 European Prog Power festival will take place from October 2nd - 4th at JC Sjiwa in Baarlo, The Netherlands. The currently confirmed bands for the festival are as follows:
Intronaut's frontman Sacha Dunable has posted a brief message giving his opinion on the bands upcoming North American tour with Mastodon and Kylesa. His statement reads as follows: "So yeah, a North American tour with Mastodon and Kylesa. I can't imagine how this won't be completely awesome. We can't wait to see everyone again, as we haven't been on tour in a while. See you out there!"

AC/DC were forced to cancel their show in Antwerp, Belgium tonight as a result of an illness. Singer Brian Johnson was not able to appear with the band when they received a double Plainum award after their first show in Belgium last sunday.
Former Rock Of Love contestant Megan Hauserman is filing a lawsuit against Ozzy Osbourne's wife Sharon after the manager allegedly pulled her hair and punched her during the taping of an episode, after Hauserman provoked Osbourne by saying she was only famous because she married a brain dead rock star. The charges brought against Mrs. Osbourne include Battery, Negligence and infliction of emotional distress.
Progressive metal act Dream Theater are the latest band to be added to the Hellfest Open Air event, France's premier metal festival. Along with Dream Theater, the festival boasts appearances this year from Heaven And Hell, Anthrax, Amon Amarth, Destruction, Sacred Reich, Cathedral, Stratovarius, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Entomed and many more. The event is being held in Clisson, France between June 19th and 21st.
In a recent update, The Red Chord confirmed that they are writing material for a brand new studio album. The band has posted the following message: "To those of you who still check websites and not just Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, LastFM and everything else that isn't a band's official website, thanks for visiting our dot com. As you may have noticed, we have taken a break from touring to buckle down and get a record written. The writing of our new full length is well along its way. The current intention is to get into the studio sometime in April/May. We will have more extensive updates soon.
"In the meantime, we are briefly taking the show back on the road for a short run with WALLS OF JERICHO. TURMOIL will join up for 3 of the dates. Also, we are playing SUNY Purchase on April 17th alongside THE COOL KIDS, CHARLES HAMILTON THE TALLEST MAN ON EARTH, THE DEAR HUNTER and a bunch of other bands we dont really make sense with. New York death metal legends Suffocation has posted an update from the studio, as they record their brand new album, "Blood Oath." The message from the band reads as follows:
"We've just completed another shift at Full Force Studios (6pm - 2am, typical shift). As for a progress report - we've completed all the drum tracking and rhythm and bass guitars as of this past Sunday. What we'll have left to do starting today is record guitar solos and getting Frank (Mullen) in there to lay down the vocals. We're looking to wrap it up next week and start rehearsing a set for the up coming Blood Apocalypse Tour soon after that. All in all, we can honestly say this record is SLAMMIN’ HEAVY and we got some nice little twists for ya' too. We look forward to crushing some stages for you all real fucking soon!
"Also, videographer Jon Bickford has been in the studio with us shooting the final segments (‘Blood Oath’ studio sessions and interviews) to be included in the forth coming Suffocation DVD!"

"The Tour That Will Not Die, European Tour, started on 25 February in Pisa. We had stayed the night at Blaze’s as we had a rehearsal the day before. The primary reason that we needed rehearsal desperately was that David Leonardo Bermudez was waylaid in the UK due to a load of Visa bollocks. What that means is that he is unable to join us until we play Germany. So... Deputy Dave enters the Blaze Bayley story.

As I Lay Dying drummer Jordan Mancino will be sitting out the bands tour of South America due to a death in the family. A message from the band reads as follows:
"Due to a death in the family, drummer Jordan Mancino will not be able to perform at the remaining four shows of As I Lay Dying's current South American tour.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jordan and his family.
"Justin Foley (drummer of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) will be filling in for Jordan on the remainder of this tour. We'd like to thank Justin for going out of his way to help us out during this difficult time."
Cleveland, Ohio natives Chimaira have posted their new single online, entitled "Secrets Of The Dead" for streaming at their official Myspace page. A message from the band reads as follows:

Finnish progressive rockers Overhead have issued the following announcement about releasing a new live DVD:
"Metal Mind Productions is proud to announce the release of the first full length live DVD by the Finnish progressive rock band Overhead.
"In late 2008 Overhead was invited by Metal Mind Productions to perform at the first edition of the Progrock festival, which took place in mid February 2009 at the beautiful Wyspianski Theater in Katowice, Poland.
"The show was recorded and will be released on the band’s first DVD entitled "Live After All". The performance features a selection of songs from the band's two latest albums. The bonus material will also include live recordings from France, Belgium and Finland filmed between 2007-2008, an interview with the singer Alex Keskitalo and much more! Georgia metallers Theocracy have issued the following update about releasing a new LP:
"Ulterium Records will release a limited edition 12" picture disc edition of the Theocracy album "Mirror of Souls". The LP will be strictly limited to 250 copies, and the release date is set to April 3rd."

Quebec, Canada based metallers Thesyre are currently streaming online the song "Hymne Au Merite" from their latest album "Resistance." The song can be heard on the band's official MySpace page.
